I'm not surprised that gimp had it before, it's open source, Adobe only releases a new version of their 'creative suite' (including photoshop), once every year or so.
Well yeah... I wouldn't make a movie detailing a feature if I didn't think that the feature was useful and/or cool.
Place them back in the original? What are you talking about? The Great thing about this method of resizing is that you -don't- have to remove an object to keep the background in proportion when you re-size it, or vice-versa.
I know, what I'm saying is you can stretch out an object, say a person's neck, and it will appear to be in proportion. Then you stick it back in the original photo, move the head, and tada - neck stretch.
does anyone know how to normal scale?

@Alyxm Watch the video and read the description.
You see normal scaling on the screen and the description even gives you the keyboard shortcut that you need to press to do it.

Still, it's a nice feature to have.
It's alright when used to stretch out objects, then place them back into the original photo.

Close call. You only beat me to mention GIMP had this first by like 4 months.
What a cool feature on either program though. I do this for the fun of seeing how well the seam carving holds up with gimp vs cs4.
