  • Check out saltwater reef aquariums under actinic lighting. You'll see the same thing. I'm looking at it right now in my bedroom!

  • I grew up in Florida but I never wanted to scuba dive until I saw this. What an amazing sight!

  • most of the infared and UV sunlight is blocked in the first foot of water so I disagree with the sunblock theory.

  • Well now all we need it's some dance music...

  • that is so amazing

  • Evolution is amazing. The different kinds of biodiversity it generates never ceases to astound me.

  • Is there any possibility by which bioluminiscence can be mass produced in vivo?

I would like to know more about it. I

  • OMG its in Saudi Arabia !!

  • omg its like avatar

  • omg, its Pandora!!!

  • You can get the lights and filters for this from NightSea. They supplied the kit to the BBC for this filming.

  • Amazing video. Its about freakin time pros do more of this. I've been doing night dives with black light filters over my 24 watt HID light for several years now, and it is way wilder in real life viewing than the camera can capture. Search the word "biofluorescence" here on YT and you'll see some of my videos and descriptions of how you can do the same. You don't even need to be a diver - you can snorkel over shallow reefs with a black light and see the same.

  • @drdichro I am headed to the Truk and Palua and was wondering if you could be more specific about your light setup. I never have seen anything like this and was wondering if an addition to putting the filter over a a flashlight if you have tried it with a strobe? Can you recommend any particular filters if you have tried this? I have a Sea and Sea 100a.

    Thanks in advance,

    The Meltdownman

  • God is clearly not just a boring old guy up in the sky. This world is so much more spectacular than i could begin to imagine

  • @Zinferbuddy Oh no! you mentioned "God" = instant fail!

  • I agree. People deny Gods Creations. WOW

  • how could they have never seen this? any good marine aquarium with actinic lighting will look exactly the same.

  • We destroy it before we saw it.

  • @strangefruit64 Yep. This is probably the only way we'll get to see these amazing bioluminous corals :-(

  • @LouisianaGatorGirl

    Agreed.

  • Wow so that is what fish must see all the time

  • Gods creation

    'yet many deny' (Qur'an)

  • @clknish "Gods creation 'yet many deny' (Qur'an)"

No, this is yet another scientific revelation that's beyond what any religion ever imagined.

  • @Tapecutter59 Religions dont imagine shit, religions are belief systems, people imagine things, and plenty of people who have religious belief systems have imagine. Darwin was a Catholic clergyman, after all.

  • @Tapecutter59 So how does science explain the cause of the big bang theory? Oh right, there isn't any valid explanation. Something compelx and ordered just popped out of a physical thing.

  • @VJWU He never suggested that science explains everything yet. It does however, explain far more than religion ever did.

  • @01000001011100100111 you are slightly incorrect, religion explains every, just poorly. Science explains some things, but most of the things it explains are explained very well.

  • @zmod101 Ah sorry, I missed the passages on dark matter, or the ethnics of filesharing.

  • @01000001011100100111 The answer is god. God is darkmatter, god is the ethics of file sharing.

  • @Tapecutter59 Religion doesn't imagine anything. Do you think religious text has to be an encyclopedia for you to believe?

  • ad didnt watch

  • Just when we think we've seen everything there is to see in nature... :)

  • @LaInspectora I totally agree.truly breathtaking.brilliant channel too.

  • @LaInspectora i have never thought that. i know there is millions to see maybe more. but specifically i fancy underwater world. maybe i should've born as a whale or dolphin. it would be more silent, peaceful, thoughtless for sure. yet i search them on earth and couldn't succeed, it sucks out here...

  • @LaInspectora <3 ! agreed
