  • It's our temple...during Khmer empire n plus I watch American movies angkor wat temple was in tomb raider n transformers dark of the moon..wat the hell Thai got n plus we all influnces by India buddah..

  • Wat the fuck u talking about angkor wat temple is Cambodia stuff..

  • i want to learn this style of martial arts cause its so convincing and is so technical. no one can beat u if u know this style!!! but its difficult to learn!!!!!!!!1

  • solid evidences proved that this complete package of muaythai in term of guard, stance, foot work and striking techniques was never exist before the rise of Siam!!! Just go back and look at the FACT of Khmer boxing demostration in 1930s , all the guard ,stance, footwork and striking techniques are almost completely different from muaythai!!! But today they look identical...Why???Did you even know that E-Phuthong and many Khmer fighters were train in Thailand???

  • Khmer did not steal anything for Siam (besides lame pop music...) but Khmers borders throughout the centuries occupied most of southeast Asia. Its not exactly "stealing" but its called "cultural influence". :)

  • @Krittayot95 Khmer was Indianized, then Javanized and Siamized...it was your Javanized Suriyavoraman who Sacked Lavo(Dvaravati) in the 11th cen...And it was the people of Lavo(Loburi)+Suphanaphumi(Suphanburi) who form SIam Sri Ayuttaya...the people were hybrid of Austric-Tai...they're the descendant of both Dvaravati+Cheangsean...Finally they droved the invaders off their lands...And after the raise of Siam they in turn influenced their neighbor...Fact with solid evidences!!!

  • Khmer has a boxing sport called "bokator" and it was created in the 11th century. And muay thai was created in the 15th century. It is basically the same exact thing. We have the same boxing music and we both have to "Wai Khru" before a match. There was a documentary on the History Channel about bokator I believe and it said that muay thai was derived by bokator. Don't bite me if I'm wrong.

  • First of all, half of you need to learn how to spell.

Second, Your missing a number if different styles of Muay Thai. THAI not "Tai".

I don't see how Khmer influenced The Thai's at all. Everyone just has to argue some point for whatever reason.

  • Mt fodaa !!! to doido pra começar a fazer !!!

  • @KezzPezz It's make no sense to me. Why muaythai got influenced by Khmer?

In the history Khmer lost to Siam so many times (see wiki). why Thailand need an influence from losers.

  • muito foda

  • It's "Thai" not Tai :)

  • Hadoooken! XD

  • gosh I love the sound of the Thai language, I wish I could speak it *-*...though I have the feeling the narrator is saying a lot more than what shows in the translation

  • Empire of Siam composed of Sri Ayuttaya,Sri Thumarat,Sukhothai,Lanna...Muaythai came from the intergratio of many regional muays,be muay Phranakorn, muay korat, muay chaiya, muay Tarsao,Muay Jearng &etc. blended together as one...it's keep evolving for many centuries to became this powerful &realistic combat art...

  • Rolex88,U should go learn some fact! Siamese of Sri Ayuttaya was hybrid...fact shown in the name of the king U-THONG himself and the full name of the Kingdom he established"Krungthep Dvaravati Sri Ayuttaya" Siamese was the descendant of Dvaravati +Cheangsean

  • come on,go learn historty, if thai during Chakri dynasty is so powerful, why they alliance with ligor(present Nakhon si tamarat),and the english to fight the burmese??even they force the malay peninsular of kedah to support them with men.

the truth is thai is one of the tribe from China(later form Sukhotai kingdom, and later Chakri), but siam or 'syam kut' as illustrated on khmer relief is another different tribe

  • u stupid, the earliest thai kingdom was only Sukhotai.

Siam(ayuthia@ayodhia) and Thai(chakri) is different, but the religion is same(and that why they mix,and that is also why siam pattani separated from them)

of course khmer empire was estblshed earlier than thai.

  • Thailand or Siam had developed our own culture even the architecture to be distinctive. But sadly Khmer or a Thieve country(Cambodia) has stole our culture and everything. You can see that Khmer architecture of temple they actually have their own style look from(Angkor wat) But now they have influence by Thai people. Wanna know more go to wiki

  • Whatttt muay thai from Khmer WTF

I have heard that origin is from either thailand or Burma

Ps. I'm sorry about my gramma

  • thai stole everything on khmer culture

    after they invade angkor

  • @Rolex88 exactly

  • Why khmer alwals claim every thing in Thai comefrom them ... They even say Tony jaa is khmer .

  • @WinZerolive they wan't to have a free ride after Thailand has spent so many years promoting their culture. They don't promote their own stuff.. they just say everything Thai is khmer. Kind of retarded since everything can be proven it isnt. But they don't accept it lol Khmers are culturaly confused.

  • Muay Thai is the Thai Boxing, the ring version ( even if hes destructive and devastating too). The non ring version ( war version can be said) is Muay Boran.

  • 9/10 of videos with title muay thai in YT are actually thai boxing not muay thai.only this video has real muay thai.

  • @kalchr Well Muay Thai translates as Thai boxing but i get what you mean. Try searching Muay Boran you will get better videos of what you want.

  • @vespaman101 yes that's what i am talkin about

  • muay thai is made for fight in old real war, so it 's fucking dangerous. It can kill people

  • Gostei muito deste vídeo pois, mostra que além de ser uma luta, há por trás desta uma tradição, disciplina e respeito as hierarquias...Muito interessante mesmo....

  • is muay boran ^^

  • come on guys .. its spelled Thai.

  • Khmer created muay thai for reals. does anybody do their research?

  • one of the first few kings of the ancient Khmer Empire were in fact INDIAN. did you not know that Ancient Khmers fathered tais back then? did you not know that tai tribe came from a small land down known as Nan Chao before settling in Khmer territory? Mongols kicked Tai tribe out of their own land so when they moved further south Khmer were friendly to tai tribe allow them to stay learn and become culturally the same as Khmer.

  • NO NO NO I never even mention that tai stole Just trying to say they were influenced by Khmer because they lived among the Khmer. Khmer and Thai have closely the same culture.

  • @KezzPezz1 Fuck khmer

  • @kikuyaki good for you buddy. HATERS GON HATE

  • yeah but that style came from Burma through Khmer first before it was able to reach the Tais since the Tais did not settle in Khmer Empire until 1216.

  • i agree that tais 'muay' style influenced from khmer becauseof the interaction they had.. a lot of part of Sukotai empire in 1200s were colonised by Khmer. but i disagree with the Burma influence because tai didnt interact with burma until the around 1400s when Burma invaded Mon. So i learned in my thai-history class back in middle skool anyway. But it is more likely that the style also influence by Southern Chinese because it is 'believed' that where Tai people migrated from.

  • I was replying to Buxxby because he gave out the fact that Tai was influenced by Burma. I wasn't so sure if Burma actually did influence tai or not. but thanks for the info siddepoo.

  • I only commented it with respect ofcourse, in fact im really glad that there are people interested in Tai, Khmer, Burmese histories. because there are no much record left of those times due to big part of it were burned with Ayutthaya in 1768. With people of interests like yourself may bring them back, somehow. I thank you for your interest.

  • @KezzPezz1 tai had an art of thier own its call muay lai tai its still practice in yunnan where the tais use to live.

  • you cant really say they stole it really.. there are still many differences in style of muay khmer and Tais.. its like Royce Gracie taking Japanese traditional Jujitsu and adapt it into his style and call it brazilian jujitsu.. nobody called Mr.Gracie a thief

  • Mr.Gracie is a thief

  • @indianajonesdog correct, they even say their Juijitsu as brazilian one >.<

  • @BoyinFullBlossem We stole nothing from you khmer.
