Oh well this was not a bad technique but a lack of atenttion of the guard. In fact teh attack is so amateurish that it could be easily stopped if spoted at the right time even by a non krav maga practioner. In Krav Maga they teach you that out there anything can be posible., so you´ll better be alert, krav maga isn´t some sort of magical practice that turns you into a superhero.

I live in Mexico city, after israel it´s one of the most violent cities, and krav maga works here

Systems such as the Crucible, No Lie Blade, and Senshido teach this. After getting stabbed you don't lay there like a Bitch to die; LIKE THIS GUY!

uh dude, how do you know he even knows Krav Maga? and how do you even know where this took place? Sure all martial arts and self defense teachers let you know what your gonna have to defend against, but so what? when they get attacked in real life they will go back to their training. And if your worried about how to defend yourself in D.C. then get a gun and stay in a group of people. Self defense show people what to do when confronted by an attacker, but some ppl get cought and pay for it.

That's the fucking problem, Krav has "Moves" to which you have to be in a certain position. He got stabbed but did nothing to mitigate another advance which could have been fatal!

This is a breakdown in awareness, not technique. If that officer saw that attack coming for a split second he would have prevented it altogether, he should have never let her out of his sight.

There is nothing about Krav Maga in there. He was just not aware. Krav Maga or not it is only you and yourself that can predict and be able to do an action. Krav Maga is a tool of fighting that teaches you technique and prepare you mentally other than that here he was caught off guard which its his fault because in a any agency of law enforcement you are taught to never give your back to a suspect or any person that might be dangerous and guess what he just did it and that s what happen

What system do you believe teaches you to deal with a committed attack? If you are convinced that Krav Maga doesn't work take a vacation to Israel(or to reputable instructor near you) and voice your concern and test your theory. If you are correct, the system will be improved. If you are wrong then you will learn something. Win win.

Yes but if it were not for the other officer the woman could have continues, resulting in more stab wounds and then a loss of consciousness! It does not matter if vital organs are hit, a pint or less of blood loss depending on the persons size would have made him unconsciousness.

His ego makes him think he is the toughest man in the room. He proves this at 0:06 when he walks in front of his fellow officer. The other officer does pay attention and see's the knife at 0:40 and saves the ego officer from getting stabed more than once.

Also, training how to react to being stabed is different from realy being stabed.

You seem to have a problem with Krav. What failed that man was not his hand to hand training, reguardless of what system he chose to study. What did fail him was his judgement and his ego. He did not follow his basic situational awareness training which dictates that you keep your eyes on the subject at all times. His ego led him to belive that the woman was not a threat.

@IGOTMINEDC We cant prevent everything. Krav Maga is a tool of combat. It will teach you of self awarness but it makes you ready for fighting or critical situation and not this one. It is the same with all self defense and probably this gard was never taught krav maga before and the other guards controlled her right away. But good point otherwise

How, with a block and punch. Amazia says the guy wasn't taught FULL KRAV, and now you say he would if he saw her. Well maybe her, but not if I were the attacker! What happen after the attack? He just laid there in a ball, his survival instinct didn't kick in, which means if the other guard didn't intervene she could have continued. In the real world you don't have the luxury of seeing the knife, even if so, using Krav Maga knife defense tactics will get you killed.

Sir, I also wanted to mention that defending yourself could also mean running away! One doesn't need to learn Self Defense, no, they need to learn how to survive, PERIOD. Because one doesn't know the outcome of a situation, training them as if a block will work everytime is stupid. What if you miss a block or an attacker redirects and stabs you, what do you do then? Remember how THE GRACIES rock the martial arts world by destroying the Kung Fu, Karate, Boxing and wrestling disciplines? But when those disciplines learned Juijitsu and Muay the tables turned in favor of the hybrid, then the Juijitsu guys learned Muay and it made MMA very interesting. Well MMA on the street will get you killed also. For example if you take someone in your guard, they could pick up and slam you, or grab hold of your neck with their teeth and bite, it's over!

At one time in history if you could Box or Wrestled you controlled the streets. The game has changed and now if you are a great MMA fighter knowing several disciplines, this helps but it will not necessary save your life on the street, becaue of guns knives sticks and the most important game changer, the FERAL HUMAN. All of these systems are domesticated, not FERAL, it doesn't have to involve technique (although it will definitely help), because it's simply FERAL!!!!!!!!

Your right! But I NEVER said I was coming up with a style of anything, but starting a class soon in Washington! The information is outthere on how to deal with the aftermath of a COMMITED assasination attempt involving a knife if you are lucky. Krav Magog does not address this issue, not to mention teaches improper technique against a COMMITED knife attacker that you DO have the luxury of seeing before he or she attacks you. One should not teach a system as if the attacker is stupid!

IF, Israelies are attacked by Palestinians, it's in the fashion shown above, which is the most effective way to attack. Soldiers whom are taught the supposed Full Krav Magog, has one or more firearms never haven to utilize any hand to hand combat on one person let alone a crowd, and never had to in history! If it does not work over there how will it work over here? Contrary to popular belief, soldiers or Israeli citizens are not attacked on a daily basis, nor are the attacks if any are on a combative (hand to hand) level. If so the security Guard would have been on alert. The Palestinians are on such a lockdown that a so-called Combative system is unnecessary let alone utilized on the Palestinians to warrant a claim of its effectiveness. Good Marketing though.
