hey im getting this game on a disc, i dont have steam, but ive heard rumors that even if i dont have steam, it will force me to download it, and then i have to download the game from steam, is this true? i dont wanna download ANYTHING from steam, average download speed for me is 7 days...

@96steelman There should be a serial number in the back of your box to download the game from steam,but i think it should work even if you install it from the disc.

@Danish28aslam In my opinion Skyrim is way better...You have to also take account that Fallout is a first person shooter and Skyrim is a 1st person fantasy. If you don't want to spend the 60 bucks on Skyrim and would rather spend 20 on Fallout, it's your choice.

hey can anyone help me, i downloaded new vegas for windows. an i got it to the PLAY menu then when i click play it says failed to initialize renderer. then closes. i have a imac 27" with windows 7 on. the graphics card in it is ATI Radeon HD 5670. ive even tried setting high settings an low settings. thanks guys

no it would be too much heavy...... it could run but it would slow down your other application because you have a 1.8 ghz processor which is slow for gaming and you are having a chipset not a graphic card.....

@Kingopersia Its true that the engine is not optimized for PC usage, ergo, the creators are cheap bastards that made it mainly for consoles because of the nature of the game. It would attract more buyers for console since PC gamers are usually spoiled by much better games and MUCH better graphics.

The framerate is not the problem, nor the performance, its just the awkward controls that dont translate well to keyboard/mouse.

@Kingopersia You are right sir, it is very glitchy and laggy when playing on the PC.

This is because it is a poor console port, like MANY other games to date. However, I have found that playing with a controller (on the PC, yes) will relieve most of these issues.

Same goes for Deus Ex:HR. It plays very weird and odd with a mouse, but when I plug in the gamepad, all is well.

Personally I think that the gameplay is much more refurbished in this game. Fallout 3's battles were always lacking something, but I still don't know what. Regardless, they are both great games.

@JSK0777 def fallout 3... fallout 3 was random in new vegas i knew where verything was going to be everytime... and new vegas has a little more bullshit when it comes to exploring cuz early on u really cant go exploring off the roads because every turn u take theres a cazzedor ready to fuck ur brown eye... fallout 3 is better than new vegas without a doubt but dont get me wrongnew vegas is still worth getting

@JSK0777 I'm assuming it's too late but... since you didn't play Fallout 3, New Vegas will feel much better. I prefer Fallout 3 because the fact that most of the things you see on New Vegas isn't copy. Plus, call me a perfectionist, I liked the fact that you can max out your stats. In new Vegas, you can reach the cap, but you still feel weak. Sure, the realism is much more, but I don't care about realism.
