  • .....made in the USA???

    its swiss made!!!!

  • @123456789Anarchy nope sig556 are made for US civilian use. They are in fact made in the US. as a country with a love of guns. many Foreign gun companies Like Sig, HK, FN Herstal and Glock have plants hear in the US

  • @4everUSNavy

it still is a swiss brand and a big part of them is made in switzerland

im swiss and own a sig 556 because im in the swiss army at the moment. and also swiss civilians can purchase rifles we are a gun loving country too. even 15 jear old children are allowed to shoot the sig sauer once a year at a big shooting contest (its called knaben schiessen)

  • @123456789Anarchy yeah but still made in america so its not swiss made like you said

  • The Sig 556 is a decent rifle, but if you are a lefty like myself, this is not the rifle for you, especially because of the where the hinge is located for the models with the folding stock, it will interfere with your thumb, and the location of the charging handle, which is exceedingly AK-ish.

  • I won't hesitate to say that I am a new-comer to the AR world. So please excuse me if my questions sound stupid. I am very interested in buying the SIG-556. However, I'm a bit confused because I see what appears to be two versions of it. There's the non-SWAT version shown in this video, which is the one I want to buy. But, there's also the other one that has the folding butt-stock. How do I properly distinguish between the two SIG-556's? How would I tell a vendor what one I want?

  • @2gs900 all the military weapons you have mentioned are fully automatic to all branches of military. The SAW is fully automatic, soldiers are trained and taught to burst their shots because of over heating barrels, and bullet spread. M240B is fully automatic, I shot it myself and ate through a whole half of a belt of ammo with one trigger pull.

  • Gun is way too heavy.

If you get one of these with the swat rails the weigh about 8.5 to 9 lbs. Without optics!

    Ar-15 >Sig 556

  • @TheMango121 yeah it weighs a little more, but it still has its place. is shoots awesome, so for some that weight is fine. there are allot of very heavy ar's though. some people like the weighs, kinda like a heavy 686 aint such a bad idea if youre shooting .357

  • Erm, the SIG 556 is made in Neuhausen, Switzerland.

  • Erm, the SIG 556 is made in Neuhausen, Switzerland.

  • this guy does not know how to handle a rifle. 5.56 is the softest shooting intermediate cartridge in the world, and it knocks him around like hell. lol

  • AK-47 and M-16 combined. :D

  • @losangelesweedsmoker and richiestang78

Both of you fucking kids don't own either and probably never will, so who gives a shit about your internet expertise? Arguing on fucking YOUTUBE talk about useless...

  • I don't see why one would need full auto anyway. Even chambered in 556 it would still recoil above your intended point of impact after three or four shots. If you have to take more than one shot, you aren't aiming. Even under fire, with a red dot, you can get sights on target and take whatever it is down efficiently.

  • Sig.

    Sexy

    Intelligent

    Gifted

  • I've got one. It functions fine. 2 main issues with most of them. 1. The rear iron sight is a nail file looking piece that is pretty much a joke. On a $1200+ rifle?? SIG is out of their mind. Get the diopter rear sight. The front take down pin is not a pin it's a screw and it's a pain. Replace it with one of the aftermarket take down pins. For what they cost these changes should have been done at the factory.

  • The day that this dude shoots without flinching is the day i'll watch his videos again

  • @Djnova11

    Everyone flinches, get over yourself.

  • @Son37Lumiere Haha You are so funny, I don't.

  • Hello. These rifles don't have a shell casing deflector. Do the extracting casings ever damage the gun itself? Thanks.

  • @Pivo000 No, they don't damage the rifle at all, the constant brass hitting the upper receiver just wears away the paint but that's really just cosmetic. Some people just put a piece of felt sided adhesive tape over that spot and it's gravy. I myself like the looks of a broke in SIG.

  • 2 ques? the 556-does it use standard ar mags or only sig mags

and are those muzzle breaks interchangable?

  • @hubiethesaint From what I've read, it does take standard AR mags

  • big question: Barret rec7 or this sig sauer 556?

  • I love the shit out of mine. I have the swat version and it is hands down the best rifle I've ever held. I sold my R15 in order to afford it and I'm sooo glad I did. If you can get one, do it cause its solid gold!

  • its swiss, its gotta be good

  • Barrel is to thin for me, not accurate after a few rounds, mini 14 #2.

  • @whitedogfive I think you found some pot and smoked it. lol

  • i want one, y the hell r they so expensive?

  • The Swiss Army uses the SIG 550. the SIG 556 is a variant of the 550, the main differences are a different stock and magazine, the 556 accepting the AR-15 magazine, while the 550 has its own mag. Also the 556 has an aluminum receiver while the 550 is all steel.

  • does the military use this? also if they do, is it full auto?

  • @Impro22297 I wouldn't doubt if the military uses it, maybe not USA, but definitely other country's. And of coarse its full auto. Only military / dealers can get full autos tho so if your a civilian im sorry to crush your full auto dreams but its VERY hard to get a full auto gun as a civilian.

  • @Breakneckhydra1 isn't their a full auto band

  • not in america you can own a full auto gun but it had to have been registered as a full auto gun before may 1st of 1986. which means there isnt that many so there expencive. for instance a full auto ruger 10/22 will be around 12000 dollars. but all it takes is to fill out a form 2 passport sized photos set of fingerprints and 200 dollars to own one. the process is easy just time consuming. same procces for owning a silencer or sbr.

  • its not hard just takes alot of money. a legal transferable full auto weapon will run around 10000 dollars and up. then just have to fill out the paper work, submite 2 passport sized photos, a set of fingerprints, 200 dollars and wait 5 months for the approval process and your good to go. same procces for owning a silencer or short barreled rifle.

  • Well the swiss army uses it i guess.

  • notice in the video how he talks about military and law enforcement use, and calls it a Semi-automatic rifle. so basically yes. and no.

  • @Impro22297 military isnt allowed full auto. unless there special forces.

  • @2gs900

    Are you retarded?

  • @akkid89 bet on it...such a dumbass...

  • @akkid89 its true fuckhead

  • @2gs900 Hmm, what is an M249 SAW?

  • @mdmyers7206 3 to 6 shot burst. special forces uses whatever they want. tell me if u have a seen a troop(in present wars not vietnam or anything) shooting an m16 or an m4 fully auto. it never happens. saw are usually 6 shot.

  • @2gs900 I didn't know that. Very interesting.

  • @2gs900 SAW is FULL AUTO...belt fed.

  • @fuzzypumpkinfucker umm no? Calm down dude u got some anger problems. Lol. It doesn't hurt to be wrong. I just get on with life.

  • @2gs900 just because you are so wrong, plenty of the Air Force guys I was with in Iraq had full auto mk 18's which are just short M4s. I myself had a MP5 SMG which was full auto.

    hurts to be wrong huh?

  • @mdmyers7206 its a light machine gun

  • @BALJIT147 Yeah, I know that.

  • @2gs900 It would be better to say they choose not to use full auto, then, right? "Not allowed" sort of makes it sound like a kid having a toy taken away.

  • @2gs900 You're an idiot.

  • @2gs900 omfg you are stupid

  • @2gs900 that's BS, the only rifle in question is the M4 and it's standard issue.

  • @2gs900 When we run out of ammo, a huge pillow fight breaks out!!!!!

  • @2gs900 SAW is fully automatic, don't know what 6 round burst version you are referring to. They often fire in burst because that's how they keep their (there=location, their=possessive, they're= they are, in case you didn't know) barrel from overheating. M4's are select fire, full-auto and semi-auto. M16a4's are semi-auto and three round burst. Taking five minutes to educate yourself on something as simple as wikipedia really doesn't take that much effort and saves you from looking stupid.

  • @clarkscoolskool Dont get too worked up on uneducated idiots. Sadly this country is filled with them.

  • @Impro22297 hey man, no we just use the sig 550 as a standard rifle which can be shot fully automatic. although it is a waste of ammo and it's limited to 20 shots. the standard magazine we're getting in the army has 20 shots. 30 / 50 (not so sure if still available) / 100 round magazines are also available but not often used in the swiss army.

  • ive never fired one but want to soon.. i still love my AR though.

  • played with one today, the front of that thing WANTS to point down, it's super front heavy...

  • Bought one and after shooting it a few times, sold it. Too heavy , not chrome lined and overpriced. The original Sig 550 is the shit. This American made version is nice but not the cat's meow. Some people love it , but it is no better than an average rifle. I think because it says Sig on the reciever, people believe it is the greatest. Sig has gone down hill in quality since they started making guns in New Hampshire.

  • You're right, it's not chrome-lined but it's nitrocarburized. That's the same treatment that LWRC gives to it's barrels. The barrel should still be very durable and easier to make to spec than a chrome-lined barrel.

  • thanks for the honesty, i have a S&W M&P15 and was thinking of getting a piston driven... was leaning towards the Sig 556... so i might look elsewhere

  • Mine was total dog shit. I had to send it back 2 times to get fixed. First time was for barrel replacement then the bolt catch broke. Then it had bolt carrier wear but I sold so I didn't have to waste anymore time.

  • I had one of these and traded it for a colt ar-15. I'm going to have to say the accuracy and weight far over weigh the gas piston of the sig 556. If you keep an ar-15 clean and lubed every 500 rounds or so, you won't see a jam unless its caused by ammunition.

  • soldiers go through 500 rounds real fast.. u can put alot more rounds through the modern day ARs before ya gotta clean it.

  • Thanks for uploading this

  • Did some research, the civi versions at least have been falling apart for people, quality is kinda shotty from what Ive read

  • there have been some QC errors, but i'm pretty sure it's a "vocal minority" sort of thing. mine has been flawless.

  • @richiestang78 Mine is excellent. Never had a failure to fire. Mine is the new 2009 folding stock version. The lower is different than this one featured here.

  • @richiestang78 thats weird i got one and its only the most outstanding affordable assault rifle ive shot

  • @richiestang78 Did that "research" include actually using one? I doubt it. The only real issues with most of these of these is ridiculous rear iron sight which can and should be replaced with a diopter sight and the take down screw which can and should be replaced with one of the aftermarket pins that's available.

  • @steve001968 Yes Ive held on, I know Sig made improvements to them in the recent year but the one I held did feel cheap. Never shot one no, didn't say anything about the actual firing, Im sure thats top notch like all Sigs, my research and observations are pointed more toward the furniture Sig sticks on the frame.

  • @richiestang78 Well nothing feels cheaper than the standard collapsible stock that comes on most of the entry level AR-15 16" 'M4' guns. But in general it works fine. I don't know if you're talking about the composite fore ends, or the stocks on the 556's or both, but both seem to work ok. Some models also have the aluminum rail fore end, and for the price maybe they all should although, the composite one works, doesn't seem to break and doesn't cut your hands like the aluminum rails can.

  • @richiestang78 Said the faggot with an outdated AR with cheap crap on it.

  • @LosAngelesWeedSmoker wow... Good one, so smart and elegantly put. I simply reported on what I read on a few forums about the the rifle a year ago. 27 and you still smoke weed, wow grow up.

  • @richiestang78 No I'm straight.

  • @LosAngelesWeedSmoker seek help dude, obviously you're a child.

  • @richiestang78 AR-15's blow to shreds when hit by a 7x62x39. I see the battlefield photos from Mexicos, brains and AR parts laid out everywhere.... good luck with yours.

  • @LosAngelesWeedSmoker LOL are you retarded, what do you think would happen to any rifle hit by a round? You think the stamped steel of an AK would hold up? Or the polymer parts of the SIG? If the AR is so outdated why did SOCOM decide to cancel all new weapon designs and will be sticking with the M4 line of rifles for the foreseeable future(upgraded to piston). Go back to smoking weed and and playing ModernWarfare cause obviously that's where you get your knowledge from.

  • @richiestang78 Modern warfare? I should Glock slap you... the HK 416 already makes you ugly semi only AR look like shit, BE GONE! We all know the AK is the better platform.

  • @LosAngelesWeedSmoker Yup you know nothing Im done with you. BTW unless you have ten grand laying around semi auto is all any private civi is going to own legally.

  • @LosAngelesWeedSmoker the ak a better platform? its an inaccurate piece of shit

  • @DuoBart0n My dick is the best platform, I fuck your mom... we both team up to set you up.

  • @richiestang78 do you think i should buy it? if not is there any other weapon that you would recommend?

  • @richiestang78 with your research what parts have been falling apart? just looking to buy this or something else

  • got it and love it. little front heavy but i like that over the lightness of the ar15

  • the best of both worlds. quite possibly the best semi auto rifle
