I think you're absolutely right. Comedy is a way bring down those in power (whomever they are) to a lower level and elevate the status of the audience. This comes across like snide bullying. The Daily Show is far more balanced in its commentary thats what makes it funny. Her smugness (not Jon's selfdeprecation) makes this seem meanspirited.

Actually TDS is very unbalanced in its portrayal of politics. It's highly leftward skewed because Stewart himself is a very ardent liberal. If you're upset by this show being conservative you should be upset at his show for being so left-biased.
