fender owns both jackson and charvel, as well as gretsch. Gibson owns Kramer guitars I believe. Just do the research and you shall see the monopoly in all its glory
i want one so bad... my guitar shop has a red one in nz and theyre so overly priced $1800NZL ow... i only have $60 in the pocket and im regretig buing a les paul -__-
I know that 22 frets were fine for Eddie, George, and Randy. But it just seems like a no brainer to me to have more 24 fretted offerings from a shred focused company. Then again, I always gotta laugh when I think about Hendrix and Malmsteen playing 21 fretted guitars with single coil pickups... God I've got a lot to learn... !
i know what you mean, but the thing with a 22 fret guitar, is that usually you can make the scale length a little shorter, and bends go through easier and such, one really isnt better then the other, its all preference, im actually getting a SoCal tommorow lol
thing is, this is a 25.5" scale guitar, not a smaller scale length. Plus the floyd makes it harder to bend.
The real gain from 22 fret guitars is you get the neck pup closer to the neck, so you get a warmer tone and a wider difference between the bridge pup, allowing a greater tonal range.
thats all true. i actually have one of these now. the socal and its amazing. but i dont think floyd roses make it harder to bend at all. thats just me though
It does. Any floating trem makes bending harder. You apply more tension on the string when you bend, so it pulls the floyd forward, lowering the pitch. so you have to bend it further to hit the note you're trying to achieve.
The second batch of colors came out on Oct. 3. Now, the San Dimas Style 1 is in candy blue, The San Dimas Style 2 is in candy red, and the So-Cal is candy green. If I had the money, I would buy the So-cal in green. But, I can't afford a new guitar:(

But i agree, i own a socal, they're fantastic,
Zaneus92 2 years ago
yea, but some people have a tendancy to overbend like crazy, i think almost everything comes down to preference on a guitar.
