Thank's for these videos. My aunt is showing signs of alzheimers. She loved to read until one day she said she just couldn't get into her books anymore. We are now at the stage where she doesn't like to wash and her day's have turned into nights. She thinks it's 1986. These videos help me understand alzheimers more. That it's not the end of the road, and human compassion is a wonderful thing.
Two simple workbooks, Bare Necessities and My Favourites have made a huge breakthrough for carers and family members. What seems to be absent here is DEMENTIA sense skill and the use of UNIQUE well-being events from the life history of the sufferer. I find that COMMON sense and no attempt to harmonise with their UNIQUE history can actually create rage and agitation.
I will never cease praising the care these videos show us, but a breakthrough is necessary!
