People who spend alot of effort building an image of themselves as perfect usually won't confide in friends and family when they make a mistake, they can't stand the thought of not being seen as perfect. RIP.
'a death in the family'--she probably got pregnant by someone other than her boyfriend and was too ashamed to have a legal abortion and tarnish her 'perfect girl' image, went to a secluded area for an illegal abortion, died, and whoever was trying to help her crashed the car and dumped her body so they wouldn't get in trouble. she probably bought all the booze to last her the entire week while she expected to be recovering from her abortion. just guessing.
She was not drinkin all that alcohol by herself. I think she was going to meet someone. She was very athletic, so I can't see her buying that much liquor and drinkin it all alone.
Hum...what if her father ,to whom she was so emotionally close, had been considerably less understanding in his reaction to the damage to his car than he now claims? This could have really upset her and set of a chain reaction...leaving her friends, needing time on her own, purchasing Vodka...why did she go to Westpoint? Was it under parental pressure? Did the fact that she left result in bad feelings and more pressure from her parents?
@turockandar I didn't get the impression that her father was dishonest, but she definitely was under enormous pressure to be perfect, that much is obvious. People who need to be perfect often shatter at the thought of anyone finding out they've made a mistake.
yeah but maybe she wasn't traveling alone... or what deems mor likely to me: she just wanted to get wasted. just stop thinking. Sometimes its necessary. However, that means she had something that troubled her...
@Saberq1 And I'm the president of the united states and own Earth. Sit your lying ass down. Absolutely no one with a college degree would make the amount of grammatical and spelling errors you have made. Where did you get your degree from, University of Phoenix?
@R0773N why does everyone assume she planned to drink it all at once? She told her teachers she'd be gone a whole week. Maybe she intended it to last the whole week.
I wonder if she was planning to kill herself. I mean, overreacting to cashing her father's car, not wanting to talk to her boyfriend (or anyone), making plans to visit a place she loved from her childhood... All the alcohol. hmm.
@jnr8877 lol, people who call suicide the 'easy' way out crack me up. If you think it's 'easy' for the people who make that decision, you really have your head up your ass.
@MyGwendel Sometimes it's easier to commit suicide than to overcome life's hardships and pains. Some have no intention of owning up to past mistakes and wrongs or battling temptations in the head so they decide to take their own lives. God gave them life and they must give account to the Righteous Judge on what they did with the life He gave them.
@Runaholism Yes, school is not as important as everyone thinks it is, especially just one week. She also got that weeks work prepared & informed her teachers she would be out, so she really wouldn't be missing much.
I think she joined a secret sex orgy cult... you how whory white girls are ..... that explains the alcohol... and you hear them say she's "adventurous"... what more do you need... Maura.. if you are reading this.. PM me... for a good time..
@Mobee211 I completely agree. I went to school with maura . she was a graduate student in 2000, w my sister. I know that her father had nothing to do with this!!!!
@27maui I don't think he had anything to do with her disappearance, but i also get that he's holding back. I think he's not ready to admit to the world the extent of his anger about the car accident. He probably said some hurtful things; perhaps this pushed her over the edge since she was, judging by her achievements, clearly a perfectionist. I think he feels culpable.
@lillewombat Very nice observation, and that's exactly what I thought when I first watched this. I mean, it's obvious that he loved her, but I'm also sure that he was pissed that she wrecked his brand new car. There's no way of knowing what he said exactly. I doubt that he reacted the way he said he did though. And who could blame him, I think most people would be at least a little grumpy when something like that happens. He must feel guilty. I know I would.
I am thinking she was having medical issues she was hiding--an athlete would be scared and perhaps even in denial about blackouts or a body "breakdown". Mental medical issues maybe...sometimes considered embarrassing.

Or maybe someone was blackmailing her...
Sorchify 6 days ago
Maybe she sustained a head injury in the initial first crash which, though outwardly invisible, caused her to start behaving differently/erratically?
