  • didnt it knock over a train of the rails

  • i live in moreno vally oh no

  • Big Steve, the cold front behind the tornado arrived & cooled the air aloft, causing it to fall rapidly & produce that wind.

  • The tornado's parent thunderstorm often produces large hail due to the strong wind updrafts in the cloud. It can produce a lot of hail over the local area that covers the ground like snow.

  • @Petemonster62 after the Tornado was over it got cool, windy, started to rain and then hail the size of a fingernail very quickly.

  • Thats a landspout. ;)

  • I live in Moreno Valley!

  • mead valley looks like it gets hit by tornados every day lol

  • In Moreno Valley, schools destroy the tornado.

  • haha i was at the march arb museum when this happened! it got dark an noisy, but was told it was an F1 and i too live in mo val

  • omfg i remember this!

  • Damn im trying to figure out wth this place is in Moreno valley or riverside.... Since I live in Moreno vlaley and go to Valley View but Didnt know about this

  • Out west of the 215 fwy, Romona expressway turnes into claco ( SP) blvd. the tornado was actually on the 215 with the picture shot from Mead Valley. I was down in Tumicula (SP) that morning and saw snow on the roof's, I got my busness done and felt that I was running away from something on my way back up onto the high desert.....

Anyway, I went north on the 215, about 30 min befor the s/// hit the fan

  • When I heard about this, I knew the end is coming

  • its not a dust devil it said all over the news it was a real tornado in moreno valley.

i would kno cuz i liv in moreno valley and i saw the funnel in the air

  • Comment removed

  • Yea because its TEXAS. You are more prone to tornadoes.

  • go down to basement stop drop and cry!!!!!

lol i was gone when this happened luckly! :D

  • i was at my house while it was raining it was pretty sick

  • I think that's typical Riverside smog and not a tornado

  • No... it was a tornado!

  • landspout

  • I dunno. The cloud base looks suspiciously wall cloud-ish (mesocyclone decending from rotating "supercell" thunderstorm.) If it was a landspout, it'd still technically be a tornado, just not one created by a supercell.

  • i was there too! i drove through the actual tornado after it crossed the freeway (215) and it was in residential area, it had lost power at that point

  • When I heard about this, I was like "no way!" It was barely moving though. Look at what God can do, man.

  • i was like 200 yards away

and i had to run for my life

    soooo scary

  • how was that a tornado it is not even moving

  • cuz it just is .

    common sense .

  • that day was awesome

  • That day was so scary.

  • Look at that hole in the sky. I was at University of Redlands (Temecula) this day (A Thursday) and I heard about it when I stopped at Ziggys. Man, I would have loved to home that day, but I have class on Thursday night. I heard that we had snow on our front yard too.

  • i rember that day i was at skool for open house that day was fun

  • that tornado in MV hit right next to my house

  • this tornado was not far from my school and everyone was disappointed that it didn't destroy the school

  • which skool is it ?

    i heard it was canyon

  • Amelia Earhart Middle School

  • @LoveofthePhantom HAHAHA, what school?

  • i remember this i was being driven to juvie while this was going on and the officer lady pointed it out to me it was hailing there too

  • does anyone know what the category was for its strength?

  • It was classified as an EF1. Winds right around 100 MPH.

  • omg see i knew it was a tornado on my way to my aunts house cuz we were going to my cuz's graduation im from iowa by the way my aunt didnt think it was tornado but yea i got tons of pics of it so yea omg that is so kool in seeing it but not of all the terrible stuff it did to others

  • that tornado was hardly moving

  • then it was really big and far away

  • Man, that storm was crazy! Especially since tornadoes are kind of unheard of around here... But hey! Mo Val was on the news! Lol

  • global warming huh? what if they already fired up the LHC and we're now getting the effect of this strange experiment? but then that would be stupid since it's all the way in europe. We'll see what happens come 12/21/12

  • San Marcos is not even close too riverside San marcos is sandeigo

  • mother nature hates us now!!

  • you took the words right outta my mouth!

  • hahaha lol

  • Riverside gets a tornado. Really close to San Marcos. My cousin lives in riverside and says he spotted a tornado. Amazing!

  • that was some scary shit i it was a mile away from my house

  • I saw this yesterday at the news..I was like wow!!RIverside???The news said of course that this isnt the first tornado..this is supposedly the 2nd one..the other one was in downtown la and that was in the year 1983!! and that was a F-2

going 150 miles per hour..and these tornados supposedly occur in Cali for like twice in two centuries..interesting isnt it?!anyways..its interesting to watch..but very scary!!o_O

  • thats like a F1???

  • This was so weird, when I saw there was a Tornado warning for Riverside (where I live, 10 minutes away from Moreno Val) I could not believe my eyes. My best friend lives in Moreno Valley though so it was quite nerve-wrecking. I hate global warming!!!! Now aside from the Big One we got to watch out for tornados? This sucks, and it's even worse because we did this to our selves. If anyone ever gets the chance, watch "The 11th Hour" (2007)narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, it's pretty informative.

  • Just thought I would point out that global warming would decrease the chance of tornadoes. Tornadoes are caused by cold air. The storm that made this tornado was actually record breaking cold, so this has nothing to do with global warming.

  • & just to let you know, global warming has to do with climate change. it gets colder and it gets hotter. one man's flood is another man's drought. if it were to suddenly snow in southern california, that would be a cause by global warming because of the climate imbalance. the fact riverside has cold air mixing with warm air is a factor of global warming because of the climate change.

  • whoever puts the thumbs down button on this comment is tupid cuz ur right tifffromance

  • well thank you. :) i encourage you, dabears1218, to do your own research on climate change and global warming instead of just assuming that global warming has to JUST simply deal with it getting hotter than usual. It's a lot more than that. Don't just wikipedia it.

  • i was there

  • THEE END OF THE WORLD......LOL

  • Why would anyone think this is global warming? That's like saying the earthquakes in Illinois were caused by global warming cause it was so rare. Everyone judges the world by their meager timespan on this earth.

  • Not global warming... folks .. it's late spring and the temps are in the 40s and 50s with rain and snow..Tornado is a result of warm and cold air masses passing each other

  • Dude i didn't know we had a tornado until i went to school today , because my house was struck by lithning and everythong shook and tv internet and phones weren't working, dud amazing thats so freaky i like in mo val yay!

  • love the video!... does anyone remember the 1998 tornado of Long Beach? you know the one that hit some homes close to mine and hit and tore the roof off of the grocery store that my mom was going to shop at that day but decided not to when she saw the weather outside.

  • weather that day was crzy.. it was raining.. then clear weather..then thunderstorms again.. i skydived on perris that day when the weather cleared a little bit..

  • woah!

    when i watched

the day after tomorrow i thought it was a pointless movie

    but im starting to notice.......

it seems like we are gonna have a day after tomorrow

    scary

    tornados are unsual in california

  • I think this was near the 215/60 interchange near the air force base. The Inland Empire always has crazy weather. We got snow, hail, rain, high winds, extreme heat, earthquakes since we are near a fault, wildfires, droughts, Lightning Storms, sandstorms, and floods. Awesome Video.

  • jfs1988 ,

Yep, great place to live, LOL. I live in Temecula.

  • global warming?.... what?

  • DAY AFTER TOMMOROW!!!

=D Crazy storm going on right now!

It was 103 degrees out 2 days ago!

  • not cool, global warming!

  • cool

  • all i have to say is watch the day after tomorrow

  • we got cows

  • This reminds me of Helen Hunt.

  • Right across the street from me. I live in Gavalin Hills. You could feel the intense wind from it...

  • Great work. Your quick with the camera. I'm surprised to see all this footage on here so quick.

  • i live in yucca valley and was pretty shoked to hear about this, it says there was one that knocked over a train

  • Crazy for sure. I wish I could've witnessed that. It's like the Day After Tomorrow!

  • i was driving while the crazy rainstorm was in the are!

I was like hydroplanning like crazy.

    and the thunder/lighting was incredible!

    loved it!
