I got an ATI 4890 off of Craigslist for 100$ ,it was 1 month old , Very Happy with it , 'cept my e5200 @ 3.9 bottlenecks it ....Frame rate in Crysis at 1280 X 1024 actually goes up with 8aa and 3dmark score of 15551 with no AA only drops to 13500 with 8aa ,...Not a Bad Card , I'm Gonna Wait for i5 or i3 and upgrade...

Actually Gamersunited, ATI's offerings currently are pretty good, go check some performance charts, the 4870 currently is notably just a bit better than the 260GTX in some games, while being bested by a 280GTX, but being cheaper than a 260GTX it's worth buying.

Check out all the FPS results, ATI currenty have the fgastest card out as it beats Nvidia in the FPS in more than half the games, that said it is pretty close as ATI lose in just under half the games, I wouldn't say either is failing, however ATI is doing better than it has in years.

Depends on which card, put it this way, if you don't have a 9600 or up, you'll have a lot of trouble running Oblivion.

Only Thing i can think of is just upgrade the cpu, i had no bottleneck with my pentium d , but i have replaced my cpu with a quad core before i played crysis. only downside with a pc is you have to upgrade components all the time. hope this helps.

lol dude i played on a nes since i was 2 years old. i went from nes to snes to ps1 to xbox to pc gaming, got a 360 anyway, and been pc ever since. back in the day there were not as good games for pc imo because not many people gamed on it. after about the xbox, pc gaming became way more benificial due to extremely higher graphics qaulity and a ton of games being made for it. so in about 2004ish i started pc gaming. my rig> any console, peace

i've got a pentium d at the moment (920 @ 2.80Ghz) - they aren't really a gaming CPU but they do the job. I'll be scrapping it soon (well, retiring it to another desk) and getting an opteron or something.

I played oblivion on PS3 and it lagged :F and i got 7800GTX on my computer(Ati 3850 coming tommorow) but with my 7800GTX i laggs less then PS3 :F , and i got distant land and so on....

I have had and played every version of Oblivion. The PC version is far superior. Mods make the game even prettier than it already is. You must have an incredible machine though if you use all the texture mods.  But yeah, PS3 and XBOX 360 don't even compare to Oblivion on the PC. It almost hurt my eyes to play this incredible game on those consoles. It was like a crime had been committed.

idiots, pc gaming is stronger and better than ps3 and 360 gaming. Gaming Pc's can handle HIGHER resolutions and WAY HIGHER FPS as well as better hdr and pixel shading. Did you also know oblivion is just a port to the ps3 and 360 from pc? The pc can handle 1900x1200 resolution on it, Thats more than 1080p. The ps3 and 360 can max it out on 720p, and even so it has 25-30 fps. They aren't strong enough to max it out. It's like playing it on a OLD gaming pc lol

They dont look the same, the 360 and PS3 have graphics around the mid-high range and PC can have em maxed. 360 and PS3 dont have any AA or AF so you get jaggies unless you want to shell out 800 bucks for a decent hdtv. Plus the 360 and PS3 run the game at around 25-30 frames, personally I prefer 40-50 and can you get user made mods for the consoles? Nope. So next time wipe your ass before talking shit :)

It's the resolution, you can't see it.

The 360 is probably running at a much lower resolution, and it doesnt have AA/AF nor does it have as complex shaders nor as much draw distance OR even CLOSE to that smooth of a framerate.

Also, it has motion blurring, Oblivion runs at 20FPS at best on a 360.
