I just bought a 2011 Ford F350 4x4 with the new 6.7 Power Stroke, I've now got 2500km on the odo and it's awesome. This vehicle replaced a 2006 Dodge 2500 Mega cab 4x4 with the old 5.9 Cummins. That truck turned out to be a lemon Had 3 of 6 injectors replaced, as well as the turbo replaced at 105,000km. The ball joints were replaced at 63000km and again at 121000km. the last straw was the fuel line that burst and sprayed the whole underhood area with fuel. Don't and won't miss that truck!

I dont know where this person got their info but the 2011 Ford Super Duty 6.7L diesel engine puts out 400 HP and 800 Torque besides having the latest advancements in the industry. Even Fords F150 3.5L V6 twin turbo Ecoboost has 365 HP with 420 Torque. That will outdo even some of Dodges V8s on torque. Their is a reason Dodge is cheaper.

Think of it this way.... yes ford has an 8 cyl diesel engine, Dodge has a 6 cyl engine. now if you look at the 2011-12 charts for the Cummins and Powerstroke, Cummins engineers made a freaking SIX CYLINDER ENGINE that outclasses the bigger 8 cyl Powerstroke, if that isn't enough proof of how dodge is amazing, than you need to stop sucking chodes and open your eyes.

I am a Duramax fan. I have over 200k on my truck, I have been offroad, towing, took a trip to California with a bobcat. Totaled it after hitting a telephone pole, bought it back, fixed the body damage and still rollin.......I don't much care for who makes the duramax, but my dream truck would be a Cummins with an Allison tranny behind it in a quadratrac f-350 with single rear wheels.

you got your facts wrong, the new 2011 6.7l cummins has 800ftlbs at 1600rpm and has the most efective exhaust brake. dodge is the only truck that don't require d.e.f. because of the special exhaust after treatment, all you dodge haters need to come to the future rather than being stuck in the 80s. i never liked ford and im not ganna bash on ford and there crappy injectors and bad transmissions.btw you can still get a manual trany with the new dodge.

the 6.7L diesel is 400HP 800FTlbs. and that is low ballin it. you can bump it well over 800 if you want to with a chip or a tune. i read about someone complaining because ford underpowers their engines for fuel economy? well if thats true then why is the 6.7 the best in HP and Ftlbs of torque AND the best fuel economy? Also... I did not see ONE F450 in this video. the F450 only comes in a duel with the crew cab and an 8 foot bed.
my last truck was a 2006 ford. shitty gass mileage and the electonics constantly failed. present truck is a 2009 ram i was at a stop and rear ended at 50 mph. i've put 1000 miles on that dodge looking for my next one. after the impact the engine was still running and i drove from the scene. guy in the shop said i could "drive it to california without a problem". i'm buying a longhorn.

i have a 2003 6.0 bought it for 15.7k have it for 7 months now. total cost of injectors,heads,oil pump,fuel pump.alternator,transmission,differential,towing $12,500.I am seriously considering burning it down with a few gallons of gas in front of a ford corporate office or or a ford dealer.Just to save the rest of honest working man. Oh I am a very patient man seriously but i dont see this nightmare called f350 ending anytime soon.All i need is a sponsor just to cover the half of the cost.
I'm not in the market for a heavy duty truck but I would never buy a new Ford engine. They have a history of really bad diesel engines in fact they have been sued a bunch of times over them. The Cummins is a proven power plant and has been use for a number of years. It is a no brainer if you use a truck like this for work it has to be a proven power train. If the Ford shows it is dependable over the next couple of years then it would be worth a look.
Don't know where you get your information from but I work in construction and many of the men on the job site are driving Super Duty's with diesels from 1998 to 2010 models and non of them are complaining about bad engines. We're talking about 13 trucks spread across those year models. One thing is a fact.. They are all more dependable than the other brands.
@Dogurasu You don't have to go far to get the info, just google "FORD SUED OVER BAD DIESEL ENGINES" .There is a ton of articles about Ford and bad power stroke engines. There is dozens of people and companies that have taken them to court. My neighbor has a 1998 12 valve Cummins with 300,000 miles on it and it has never cost anything but services. The truck itself has been great also just stuff that goes on them all with that kind of mileage.
I looked it up and what I find is : (Ford vehicles model years 2003 through 2007 equipped with Navistar’s 6.0 L diesel engine are the problem).. It's been 4 years and Ford hasn't used the Navistar International Diesel engines since then..
The problem also seems to effect only a small number of their trucks and this is probably why no one that I know has had an issue..
Kind of silly to condemn Ford for eternity for something that can happen to any auto maker..
@royme55 I agree with you to an extent. There was in-fact a few bad engines AKA the 6.0 diesel. it had some issues that they had a very hard time figuring out. the 7.3L was indestructible though. theres plenty of them up in NY area that i have serviced with 600000+ miles on them. the 6.4 Diesel is a great engine too. people had problems with the particulate filters burning off at idle because they didn't give them time to regenerate.
You failed to mention that FORD and GM need to pour Urea (piss) in their trucks to meet emission standards for 2011. DODGE does not. Failure to keep the DEF tank level at a minimum will result in:
1 The driver will get an initial warning.
2 The driver will get a second warning with an indication of the number of remaining “enigine starts” they have.
3 If the operator ignores both warnings and runs out of DEF (urea) additive, they’ll experience a “final engine start”.
@MrDonRickles Cummin's does use Urea, just the consumer version uses a special catalyst. If you bought the commercial chassis or anything bigger you would have urea. I'd take the Cummin's over the GM or Ford, but really that comment is comical. All the new diesels used highly advanced technology to pass emissions.

I'm waiting to go pick up my new 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 Laramie Crew Cab with Dually. Currently i looked and have test driven Fords and the Diesel's feel underpowered, The V8 is the only thing that felt like it had torque. Now when i test drove a 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 the Diesel was actually responsive and felt like it had alot of Torque. I paid 44,000 for the whole thing. I think i got a better deal than any of you Ford Boys
I got $9K off my new F350- After break in the Ford does seem to be far more responsive than test driving a new one off the lot. Maybe you got a non flashed one with the low numbers. They are now 400 hp-800 torq
Ford was for me because my local dealer has over 50 on the lot and Chevy and Dodge had 2 each and ugly colors no one would want.

I am a Duramax fan. I have over 200k on my truck, I have been offroad, towing, took a trip to California with a bobcat. Totaled it after hitting a telephone pole, bought it back, fixed the body damage and still rollin.......I don't much care for who makes the duramax, but my dream truck would be a Cummins with an Allison tranny behind it in a quadratrac f-350 with single rear wheels.

Out of those? The Ford.....But the dodge ram Laramie long horn edition on the other hand....That's a beautiful thing. I believe the price for a comparable Ford is another 10 grand and it doesn't have the Horsepower from what I've seen.
I like trucks that can go fast personally and the cosmetics as well as options of the Laramie Long horn have me leaning in that direction

you got your facts wrong, the new 2011 6.7l cummins has 800ftlbs at 1600rpm and has the most efective exhaust brake. dodge is the only truck that don't require d.e.f. because of the special exhaust after treatment, all you dodge haters need to come to the future rather than being stuck in the 80s. i never liked ford and im not ganna bash on ford and there crappy injectors and bad transmissions.btw you can still get a manual trany with the new dodge.

the 6.7L diesel is 400HP 800FTlbs. and that is low ballin it. you can bump it well over 800 if you want to with a chip or a tune. i read about someone complaining because ford underpowers their engines for fuel economy? well if thats true then why is the 6.7 the best in HP and Ftlbs of torque AND the best fuel economy? Also... I did not see ONE F450 in this video. the F450 only comes in a duel with the crew cab and an 8 foot bed.

my last truck was a 2006 ford. shitty gass mileage and the electonics constantly failed. present truck is a 2009 ram i was at a stop and rear ended at 50 mph. i've put 1000 miles on that dodge looking for my next one. after the impact the engine was still running and i drove from the scene. guy in the shop said i could "drive it to california without a problem". i'm buying a longhorn.

That F450 of yours will run you ablout 55000, where the ram chasis cab is just upwards of 40000. now really, how many people have bought a 450 from ford and ever used it to haul? i have a 2003 6.0 bought it for 15.7k have it for 7 months now. total cost of injectors,heads,oil pump,fuel pump.alternator,transmission,differential,towing $12,500.I am seriously considering burning it down with a few gallons of gas in front of a ford corporate office or or a ford dealer.Just to save the rest of honest working man. Oh I am a very patient man seriously but i dont see this nightmare called f350 ending anytime soon.All i need is a sponsor just to cover the half of the cost.

I'm not in the market for a heavy duty truck but I would never buy a new Ford engine. They have a history of really bad diesel engines in fact they have been sued a bunch of times over them. The Cummins is a proven power plant and has been use for a number of years. It is a no brainer if you use a truck like this for work it has to be a proven power train. If the Ford shows it is dependable over the next couple of years then it would be worth a look.

Don't know where you get your information from but I work in construction and many of the men on the job site are driving Super Duty's with diesels from 1998 to 2010 models and non of them are complaining about bad engines. We're talking about 13 trucks spread across those year models. One thing is a fact.. They are all more dependable than the other brands.

@Dogurasu You don't have to go far to get the info, just google "FORD SUED OVER BAD DIESEL ENGINES" .There is a ton of articles about Ford and bad power stroke engines. There is dozens of people and companies that have taken them to court. My neighbor has a 1998 12 valve Cummins with 300,000 miles on it and it has never cost anything but services. The truck itself has been great also just stuff that goes on them all with that kind of mileage.

I looked it up and what I find is : (Ford vehicles model years 2003 through 2007 equipped with Navistar’s 6.0 L diesel engine are the problem).. It's been 4 years and Ford hasn't used the Navistar International Diesel engines since then..
The problem also seems to effect only a small number of their trucks and this is probably why no one that I know has had an issue..
Kind of silly to condemn Ford for eternity for something that can happen to any auto maker..

There was in-fact a few bad engines AKA the 6.0 diesel. it had some issues that they had a very hard time figuring out. the 7.3L was indestructible though. theres plenty of them up in NY area that i have serviced with 600000+ miles on them. the 6.4 Diesel is a great engine too. people had problems with the particulate filters burning off at idle because they didn't give them time to regenerate.

You failed to mention that FORD and GM need to pour Urea (piss) in their trucks to meet emission standards for 2011. DODGE does not. Failure to keep the DEF tank level at a minimum will result in:
1 The driver will get an initial warning.
2 The driver will get a second warning with an indication of the number of remaining “enigine starts” they have.
3 If the operator ignores both warnings and runs out of DEF (urea) additive, they’ll experience a “final engine start”.
Time to buy a Dodge.

@MrDonRickles Cummin's does use Urea, just the consumer version uses a special catalyst. If you bought the commercial chassis or anything bigger you would have urea. I'd take the Cummin's over the GM or Ford, but really that comment is comical. All the new diesels used highly advanced technology to pass emissions.

I'm waiting to go pick up my new 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 Laramie Crew Cab with Dually. Currently i looked and have test driven Fords and the Diesel's feel underpowered, The V8 is the only thing that felt like it had torque. Now when i test drove a 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 the Diesel was actually responsive and felt like it had alot of Torque. I paid 44,000 for the whole thing. I think i got a better deal than any of you Ford Boys

I got $9K off my new F350- After break in the Ford does seem to be far more responsive than test driving a new one off the lot. Maybe you got a non flashed one with the low numbers. They are now 400 hp-800 torq
Ford was for me because my local dealer has over 50 on the lot and Chevy and Dodge had 2 each and ugly colors no one would want.

I've owned 4 Dodge trucks (3 Dakotas, 1 Ram), 2 Ford trucks (1 Ranger, 1 F-150), and 1 Chevy truck (Silverado). I won't buy a Ford again, and Chevy can just suck my ass. Dodge has the best looking trucks by far, and from personal experience, I have NEVER had a problem with ANY of them. BOTH Fords were in the shop every couple months, and the Chevy was the WORST purchase I've ever made in my entire life... total garbage! My next truck will be a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie LongHorn Edition.

Ok, update for all you diesel lovers. Ford's brand new 6.7l Powerstroke now gets 800 lbs of torque and 400 hp to the wheels. If you have bought your 2011 model, take it back and the will reprogram your engine computer. Hope this helps. BTW I like the name @fordgt700hp
