You have done nothing to explain about how we keep rain from wicking down the mosquito-net support lines ... You also did not explain the relative height of the net support ridge-line and the tarp lines and how they all are rigged, to prevent water infiltration, etc.
@phrankus2009 It's a complete non-issue, you tie a ridge-line and attach your bungees for the fly-net, the bungee attaches beneath your tarp. I can tell you from experience water doesn't wick down the ridge-line, it's not got the same mass or downward direction as the hammock webbing to collect enough water to be of concern.
Also there is no set or relative height to see the ridge-line for the bungees, this will depend on how much bungee you have attached (how you attached it originally), it's something you have to play by ear and be careful not to set it too tight like I warn about. In future don't start your comment so negatively, because in comparison when I look at your channel "You've have done nothing" to share or help others with skills.
@NaturalBushcraft Thanks for the prompt replies ... dint mean to sound "pissy" ... I had asked one experienced New Englander (woo-bud) about running the ridge-line internally or external ... I thot internal was better because of utility access (hang gear) but he implied that he "got tired of being dripped on" - Furthermore, I just ordered a DD Traveler WITH TWO (expensive) load caribiners and then saw your tandem rig
recommending TWO at each end ?! While a guy "Colhane"in Brazil uses NONE.
@phrankus2009 Sorry when I was mentioning the ridge-line earlier, I meant an independent ridge-line for the netting (as shown in the video). As for the main Tarp ridge-line, I have mine going over the top of my Tarp, so will therefore string another line of paracord for the netting (or more often than not I don't bother using the net at all now). I have used just 1 crab at either end before and I think it works, but I try to use two because it's a guarantee and crabs are handy for all sorts.
Thanks for all your feedback (sincerely) and your generosity and all your efforts. DD really blows my mind ... I ordered this Traveler+TarpMC+2Crabs+Sleeve just yesterday and I tracked it all the way from the UK to Austin Texas, OVER-NIGHT ! ... FedEx made their delivery before 10:30am local ! ... WOW !! and I only paid $199 USD for all that kit and was not charged one penny for shipping.
MOST IMPRESSIVE ! YANKS, TAKE NOTE ! Bivy + Dual Entry + Fair Pricing ! ... RIGHT!
@phrankus2009 The thing is with knowing what works and what doesn't when it comes to rain getting to you, to know what your talking about you need to try the same method, again & again & again, it's only through experience you can be sure something works. I can tell you through my experience, webbing on it's own doesn't stop rain, drip-lines doesn't prevent rain, 2 crabs does, 1 crab each end has for many of my nights but I can't say I've used one in each end through a night of continuous rain.
I've been using this hammock now since May 2011, 20 nights so far. I find the advice to set it very tight misleading. If you do that it makes the hammock much narrower alll along its length and I find compresses my shoulders. I hang it a bit slacker and can really lie diagonally.
The use of whoopie slings has helped here as they don't stretch. So once you've found the sag you want it won't drop you on your bum when you get in. This ws one of the main reasons I binned the supplied webbing.
@garethdwatkins In all honesty; I think you're right in that I don't normally pitch my hammock this high, admittedly it was Justin's idea to show pitching it so high as it's a common mistake of people to pitch it too low. But I agree it is a little misleading on that one matter, I may re-shoot this video for that reason but please don't expect it soon. All the best,
@hazzathebest No they don't, well we don't have that problem here in the UK. The only thing you might want to worry about is making sure food is securely packaged in just to stop foxes/badgers or dogs rooting in your bag and getting food. I have been camping with a friend when we went fishing and a farmers dog came by whilst we were away from camp and probably wolfed down £20 of meat!

awesome facts- appreciate it, have anybody tested Garnier's most recent product line? it's quite hard to obtain makeup in Bayshore yet you can obtain some awesome cosmetic samples by checking out "GratisMakeupSamples", their handy!
Got the same h-mock stup, using only 1 c-biner each end. Works ok. You mainly talk bout using a rollmat for insulation. I used a 50cm t-rest mat, find it to narrow, it flipped to my sides. I'm broad what whidth rollmat you use, why a a rollmat not a t-rest?
Can you do a clip on how to get a hammock up with the 2 rings tensioning, how does that work. Using climbing tape to suspend ther h-mocks, can you tell us bout that pros /cons?
Its the only way I camp anymore! My hammock goes with me every trip! Good video and I have to say that this is the first way I learned how to hang a hammock.
To be honest I use a cheap 2-3 season bag, nothing special. But I think the main importance in having a warm night is knowing how to insulate and layer yourself.
Even if your in a hammock you need to insulate yourself from the cold air beneath, so that means a roll-mat or under-blanket etc. this insulation and layering of clothing does the real work in keeping me warm. Cheers,
Yes, certainly. Don't get me wrong in winter when I use a sleeping-bag & a bivvy-bag it can be awkward getting into your hammock, but once your in it's snug.
Are you not having a decent nights sleep in a Hammock? If not let us know how your camping and we might be able to help.
I once had a classic, vietnam-era "jungle hammock" which was as cool as can be; I mean those things were built and you could use sticks as stretchers on the ends to make it more 'flat". But i'm a side-sleeper and I rolled out of the bastard in the middle of the night (friend snickering in his comfy tent)! if you're drunk and sleep on your back I guess it might work! ;-)
@NaturalBushcraft ,thanks for the quick response and information/good news on the vine,I was concerned because here in Ontario ,Canada one has to be always on the lookout for poison ivy when in the bush,it can be nasty stuff,Bruce
I read on their website, that too many customers didn't like it and so they will replace the waterproof layers with more breathable layers - if they didnt, even better. the waterproof hammock with tarp can even be used as a tent if you dont have any trees around. :-)

correct me if I am wrong but that sure looks like poison ivy that is growing up the tree that you wrapped the hammock rope around !

It's not poison Ivy, it doesn't grow in the UK, it's the regular kind (technically poison ivy isn't a true ivy).
