I love how these shows got the right to say words like that, twenty bucks says you couldn't find a kid's show now that would say so much as "darn" let alone "hell". And this show actually had real-life issues, and realistic problems, like when Maza got shot. And unlike Spiderman TAS, you actually get to see people get punched and REAL GUNS fired!

I agree, especially if they could get as much of the original voice cast as possible.

The animators went out of their way to design the characters — even the gargoyles! — to look as much like their human voice actors as possible.

Any Star Trek fan should have no problem recognizing that Xanatos not only sounds like, but LOOKS like, Jonathan Frakes, for instance. But compare Eliza Maza with Salli Richardson, or even Hudson with Ed Asner, Goliath with Keith David, etc.!

The actor's name is Keith David. He's done a fair bit of voiceover work for cartoons, commercials, and video games.

I respectfully disagree. Part of the reason this show was so bad ass was due to it being a cartoon. You just didn't see writing like that in cartoons, not even in Batman: TAS. To bring this into a live action format...well...personally I think it might sully what this series was all about, and that is, being epic for what it was/is.

Of course, that's just my humble opinion.

CG is a cheap visual technique that doesn't adds believability to practical effects. Instead have actors with prosthetics, they can use CG as a complement tool, but not the driving force of the whole movie.

I know, Disney really isn't that big anymore IMO. For a long time they were huge with traditional animation, but their movies now are just bad.

PotC was a good franchise though, and a properly made Gargoyles could be just as great.

As long as they keep in mind who Gargoyles was aimed at (an older audience) it could work.

The princess and magus took the eggs to Avalon or something, and they hid there for 1000 years (time passed slower there). The eggs hatched, Goliath has a daughter, and...etc....

But that is way later in the series if i remember correctly...I'm kinda surprised i remembered at all.

Not just the voice acting, but even the animations today aren't like they used to be. Now granted, most shows in our early days were rather sketchy with the animation, there were rare gems such as teh Gargoyles series who's animations were so slick, so smooth and so precise that they simply demanded our attention.
