Im going to buy SH3 too. I got SH4! I hate destroyers, but sometimes the hunter is hunted. 2 Destroyers were chasing me, and I did some evasive manouvers and dropped some decoys so I jammed their sonar. They didn't know that I was about to turn just behind them. I surface to periscope depth and spotted 2 destroyers. Then they spotted me. I launched a 3 torpedo salvo, spreading them so I got better chances to hit, and success! I sank a destroyer with one hit, and a second, but unnecessary!

@pROTPANDA just a fair warning, SH3 operates COMPLETELY different from SH4, it will take some getting used to.

most of the times, a single torpedo under the c3's keel will break it's back.

Be careful how you adjust it's depth, though. In rough weather you should set it to a meter below the draft, because the ship's roll can bounce your fish easily.

usually in calm seas you should put it to 0.5m

You are shooting UNDER the keel.

In the shipbook, there is "DRAFT".

Then put your torp on magnetic influence, and put your depthmeter a little bit UNDER the draftnumber.

A torp is way more powerfull when detonated underneath a ship, rather then just under the waterline. ;)

Well, it was on SHIV, on the torpedo's training, while I was trying for the first time the mancual TBC. I one-shooted the ship, a Mogami heavy cruiser. I haven't sunk anything more in manual though :( She didn't broke, but the explosion was huge and brought her down quickly. I still don't know how I did it.

do it with a t3 tanker? thats easy nearly every time i fire at them they blow up after one shot - it all a matter of getting that magical 90 degress angle becuse if you get that then almost any ship only need one torpedo to sink

not actually how it works,,,so long as the torpedo impacts the ship and goes off maximun damage is caused, its more about where the torpedo hits, for example on a cruiser it can take several direct hits to bring one down, but you get the ammo mag and it'll just go "poof" into a lil fireball with the one torp :p ,,, yes poof is a word :) lol

Silent Hunter 111 is actually a good game but then those idiots at Ubisoft brought out Silent Hunter 1V with big fancy new 3d graphics and you have to spend about $500 upgrading your computer to play it. Hmmm. I wonder why so few people bought the crap?
