The camera lens makes this platform seem narrower than it really is. Clapham North is also like clapham Common. The reason for these two oddities is that they were originally the last two stations on the City and South London Railway, before the line was extended southwards to Morden in 1927. To alter them would cost a fortune and the accident rate is no more than other stations.

IT A DISGRACE THAT CLAPHAM COMMON AND CLAPHAM NORTH STILL HAVE THESE ISLAND PLATFORMS WHEN YOU THINK OF THE MONEY SPENT ON THE JUBILEE LINE AND OTHERS MAYBE TFL DONT LIKE SOUTH LONDONERS

I bet the drivers hate pulling in to here as the platform is very thin and people could fall under the trains.

each direction has a tube with a platform for it's own.

The last set of doors at both ends of the train don't open at this platform. Gets people every time.
