Sounds very interesting - a Bulgarian song performed by a Hungarian voice. She sounds beautiful but so different - too many vocal curves, we don't sing our folk music like this here, in Bulgaria. The music sounds closer to my country at the very beginning, only the instrumental part. We have some composers who make such kind of classical music on a base of folklore. Nevertheless - thanks for the beautiful clip and the reverence to Bulgarian folklore and culture.
The first two discs of this amazing French duo are a MUST-HAVE at everyone's home discotheque. Brutally emotive, illustrative and musically impecable. Tell me again that the voices they feature on their songs are from people over their 40s (and not from children, that is how rejuvenating they are/sound), because I still do not believe it.
@Pretended yes. It is more folcloric than "official" Bugarian folclore.Since WWII bulgarian ethnology sistematicaly threwout Turkish elements from their folclore. You could say Bulgarian folclore is more constructed immage of own nation than real tradition.Andthis did not happen only inBulgaria,Since I am from Serbia, and since Iam anthropologist,I know these stuff, and I know how the Serbian folclore was constructed:
@Pretended and I know how the Serbian folclore was constructed:in the same way:throw out anything that might resemble somebody elses tradition(in the Balkans this ususly ment Turkish and Orientalelements)and thats it,you got your folkore!I enjoy when seeing these fusions!these are so subversive thorwards official naratives about "nation", "tradition"...
It`s not bad and i`m happy that foreigners like bulgarian music and sing bulgarian songs but it could sound a little bit different, performed by native musician.
@GDDBS Not bad??!Sebestyen Marta is a well known folkore singer worlwide.I dont know what u mean by "it would sound different by a native."U mean she has an accent?I wouldnt know, cos I dont speak bulgarian.Or a native would interpret emotions differently through the song?Or what did u mean exactly?Because I would like to know, how it comes across,by a bulgarian point of view.I presume u r one arent u?
@TheHideg8 First of all, i want to say, what i ment back then, was not "the song is bad" , i ment that bulgarian folklore singers are a littel bit different , they have an accent themselves or i should say, they sing with dialekt, it may be funny but it`s true.I`m not musician myself so i cannot say if she is really good but , i would say she sings fresh, and interessting and i hear this song with pleasure :).
sasvim prirodno :-)
