  • I just had an eargasm. Thanks for that!

  • I love you, josh.

  • I remember playing this game when I was 8 years old :) I couldn't remember where i heard the theme song before when I heard the kernkraft 400 version :p

  • So simple melody which brought thousand of dollars...

  • So simple melody which brought thousand of dollars...

  • I loved the C64, the music was way ahead of its time. Takes me back to ol good times.

  • Anyway it´s a great song.

  • Zombie Nation did buy that song and then remixed it ...so as this song wasn't made by Zombie nation... it belongs to him now

All in all it's a really great song... and the guy who made it is an absolute genius :)

  • @HauntedOneOne fact

  • FYI, Zombie Nation sends loads of cease and desists and take-downs to anyone who uses the Grendel version of the same audio. The guy is an ass.

  • @HauntedOneOne

Yes, like ten years or whatever

  • For those wondering, they did have to pay an undisclosed amount of money to David Whittaker.

  • You can download the audio-mp3 of this song at greatgrabber doht cohm.

  • I could listen to this forever. I love the harsh sawtooth synth line so much

  • Can someone tab this please?

  • THE CAKE IS A LIE

  • @chesterngiamzhenghao it's a game by Terminal Software that were released in 1984.

  • I like this one more lol

  • This is totally orgasmic!

  • Huh, I didn't know that, interesting

  • I like the runs even more now I know where it comes from!

  • These dirty losers are trying to rip-off David Whittaker's work as their own now and there is a new court case, I hope they all get raped by gorillas after a plane crash personally.

  • OMFG kill ur self pls

  • I am truly amazed.. all the years I toyed with a C64 and I didn't know this -- lol

  • @FreedomWorkShop - But I was 12!

  • such humble beginnings.

  • don't you love this world? Isn't it great how you can not be super awesome just regular awesome like how Zombie Nation is but then you remix a bit of an old song and get awesome in the eyes of many. I'm inspired. I'm gonna do what they did and make my song into a sport chant. Or be the next Koji Kondo: KOJI KONDO RULES either way I'll be great one day. I love this world

  • You do realize that the Zombie nation Kernkraft was a remix of the song Stardust? Hence why this video is called "Zombie Nation/DEREMIXED"

Plus this song is very dated i agree, but still a classic house song nonetheless.

If you look at Zombie nation's current tracks you will realize that he does have talent and can reinvent himself as the music styles change.

  • @ColinKochevar Yeah. It is cool how one can get rich and famous via blatant plagarism and giving no credit to the original artist, then get sued and setle outside of court for a very small amount and STILL have people not know that you are a hack. Yeah, this world is great.

  • how is some repetitive techno song a "Masterpiece"?

we're not talking "Bohemian Rhapsody" here you first class fool

  • @McLarenMercedes anny music can be masterpiece...u fool

  • hmm...a lot of sane people would come to the conclusion you're an IDIOT just by reading that ultra-stupid comment of yours

are you saying homosexual men don't like sports, or that ALL straight men like sport?

you must be a goddamn troll

    troll or not, you're useless

  • really? they sold 17 million C64's worldwide and it is still the best selling single personal computer of all time

you are an IDIOT for saying nobody had a C64, it was THE computer in all the 80's and had a 10 year life span

  • As with virtually everything... the original was better :D

  • if you call copying a complete melody sampling i wonder what you call a cover then...

they had to go to court and probably didn't make a penny on the remix

  • they didn't sample, they stole the melody, and made a shit load of money, gave no credit, and probably had zero permission.

  • Wow, good troll!!! :D

  • @JamieBugajski Since when is liking jazz gay? Jazz is as straight as it gets, you should get your facts straight.

  • Yeah, well the game stole 99 Red Balloons so what goes around comes around.

  • EVERYBODY HAD A C64

    I ADORE MY C64

  • @PickleRoaster i lost all this for being born in 1993 , at least i have a snes

  • lol I am willing to bet there are many more ppl who remember lazy jones than zombie nation... that's based on recent data that there are more straight men than fags in the world

  • Why not use "gay men" in place of "fags" in the future...

    Just a thought.

  • @JustJoey23 shut up fag

  • @blink234234234

    What are you wearing?

  • @JustJoey23 your mother, as a coat

  • @blink234234234

Mmmm, that's hot. I'm playing with my cock in the bathtub right now, thinking about you. We should hang out sometime.

  • Plenty of people had c64 considering it came out long before the NES was even a thought and as one of the few commercially available home computers.

I don't think anyone really thinks this song was "stolen" and those who do as well as those who defend it are morons.

There is something called "homage" and the game itself borrowed tons of toons.

  • Except maybe people who grew up playing it. You do know there were actually people in the 80's, right?

I love this game and I love that the song was remixed. I also like that Zombie Nation worked with TIGA, two great artists.

  • You're an idiot. It's from a game on a console that has a sound chip only capable of sounding like this. I despair.

  • You douche.. This game was made in 1984... Just like your mommy was...

  • Go cry in a corner, dick.

  • Really now? The version done on professional studio equipment sounds better than a C64 game? IMPOSSIBLE!

  • you know that's really shitty

but if you play the game the guy who made the music for this has ripped off some other tunes that are not from himself also...

    99 luftballons - nena

and another one from kim wilde was ripped and put into this gane

i wonder if he paid any royalty's to that???

  • Games back then were never licenced properly, so the answer porbably is no. The creation of bad quality unlicenced games lead to the videogame crash of 1983.

  • Other way around. The game predates the music. Zombie Nation originally used his music without permission, and had to pay to get the rights after the fact.

  • lazy jones - 1984

    99 luftballons - 1983

    kernkraft 400 - 1999

  • i didn't know that lol i thought zombie nation started that tune oh well.

  • Ahh, I love chiptunes :)

Brought back memories when Kernkraft 400 came out.

  • I'm amazed how many people doesnt know that kernkrafts melody aint their own.

  • @saippuakullipillukau I'm amazed that you're amazed and don't even know that the artist is called "Zombie Nation" and that the track is called "Kernkraft 400".

  • @Admartimus kernkrafts melody=melody of the song kernkraft 400. their=zombie nation. So may I be amazed for you being amazed of me being amazed and understood the sentence wrong =)

    NEENER =P

  • @saippuakullipillukau Nice try...But! The way you say it, their is aimed at kernkrafts melody and not at zombie nation, because you do not mention zombie nation in your comment. So....Neener-neener!!

  • @saippuakullipillukau by "their" you mean "him" since its only one guy. lol

  • @ausernamenonewants schizophrenia ftw! =P

  • @saippuakullipillukau You'll find this all through music, especially dance music. Like the people that think DoTA by Basshunter is an original melody

  • @saippuakullipillukau Nice grammar retard.

  • @hockeywall2 propably better than most of US citizens =P

    and yes still retard

ps. have to say its pretty annoying that this doesnt show exactly to what comments are other people commenting.

  • OMG, that sucks. Their biggest hit was a direct lift off this track? Even if they did cite it, that's pretty sad.

  • There really isn't a genre called electronic - that's just what most people who don't listen to it call it. The real name isn't much better- It's classified as Video Games Music. Original, eh?

  • awesome

  • I uploaded my own produced "Lazy Jones Zombie Nation" Remix that honors the Commodore 64 ;) Check it out if you like! Contains German speech samples.

  • Don't see the problem as long as the original composer (eventually) got paid! Zombie nation merely resurrected an (almost) forgotten about piece of music, and brought it back to the masses!

  • Yup, and it never really got much acclaim to begin with. Had the tune been in a more famous game it'd have been a classic though, so simple but addictive it's insane.

  • ..and he got! but the first time he got money, is was just about 5 grand haha.. he had NO idea how big the zombie nation tune was or is. BUT in the meanwhile he got good money, so everythings sorted out ;) .. just awesome tune, actually all the lazy jones songs are very cool.. i played it till my finger bleeded hehe

  • all the same for me

  • i can't believe this!!! nobody makes original melodies these days.. it's all about sampling now

  • It's like JerryC and pachelbel's Canon in D but that was ages ago C64 ah

  • He didn't steal it, he used it and gave credit to Whittaker.

People use other's melodies in their works all the time. Jerry C - Canon Rock for example is Pachelbel's Canon in D.

  • Actually no. Originally Zombie Nation used the melody ripoff without permission and was later on forced to pay an undisclosed amount of money to Whitaker, who was the original composer of the song.

  • @buiggz look this song up on wiki it will tell you

  • @buiggz YEA MAN FUCK ZOMBIE NATION!!!

    IM FOR THE ARYAN NATION!!!

  • no, I think every one in the world knows where this une originated and that zombie nation based their song on this tune...

  • not really, i didn't know (not that i care, im not into techno) and im sure nobody of the technofags (dont feel offended techno fans, please) would know :-/

  • so zombie nation remade this then claimed it there own?

  • they never officially copyrighted it.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!! i didnt know that it was derived from this game either cool i learned something today!

  • That is a common misconception Zombie Nation is the band and Kernkraft 400 is the song.

  • Funny tha tthe guy did zero research and then got totally owned. Yeah, Kernkraft 400 is the song and Zombie Nation is the band.

  • i simply don't get why everyone is getting it wrong...

  • awesome!

  • lol!

  • I remember I had got a C64 off ebay and It had come with this game, and I had heard this song in the game. around the same year I went to a hockey game and heard the Kernkraft 400 style and started laughing! it was the fact everyone was chanting to a song from a dorky little game form an old computer!

  • i laughed when i it filled the dance floor at prom last night

  • Ok, now let's consider whole hip-hop & breakcore samples they are too from other songs OMG WHAT NOW?! . It's normal in music.

  • They didn't license the sample.

  • Artist - David Whittaker

    Song - Lazy Jones

this music created with a C64 machine.. music that used to be added to the 8-bit graphics games

this style of music is AKA VGM-video game music

Zombie nation did stole this melody from the original..

  • Zombie Nation did "steal" this melody, but he also credited it, so it is a valid use in my opinion.

Kernkraft 400 has a completely revamped sound compared to this, although it's the same melody. Sampling is a good thing, reworking is a good thing, remixing is a good thing.

  • What "remix" are you talking about? THIS is the original from the 80's.

Stolen by Zombie Nation --> Zombie Nation makes money out of some other's work, and people dance in nightclubs on the rythm of... an old game soundtrack! Believe it or not!

  • Not stolen. They did their own version of it, nothing wrong with that. There's no way it hurt the original artist's profits, and that's all that matters, provided the new version isn't identical.

The fact that they made money off of it is irrelevant.

  • There's nothing wrong with that? Really? Well, they "FORGOT" to mention it's a remix of the original soundtrack. Almost everyone thinks this track is their own creation.

  • Douchey of them, but not illegal. And not stolen.

  • It's not really considered 'stolen' if they give credit, so as long as they did, which I THINK they did, they're fine.

  • According to American copyright law, it is considered infringement with or without credit I think. Which is stupid, really.

In any case, IMO if they gave credit they're fine and if they didn't, they're assholes but it still shouldn't be something they could be sued for.

  • sadly even if they DID steal it.......its not going to hurt the C64 company.....its not around anymore so it REALLY doesnt matter......great song either way

  • ohhhhhhhhh oh ohoh o hhhhhhhhhhoho

  • I'm confused. You stated both ways. Or maybe not.

    Kernkraft 400 = song name

    Zombie Nation = musicianary entity

  • Fuck's sake. Why are there such dumb fucks in the world? Get your shit right. Check wikipedia. People think it's the song called Zombie Nation cause when it was first released everyone started downloading it from file sharers who thought it was the song called Zombie Nation also cause of those being the only words in the song, BUT IT ISN'T.

  • i know, thats what i said

  • Shhh! You can't call people dumb fucks and then quote a wiki as your source. Go to college stupid.

  • you're wrong, its the other way around

  • completey agree with Sabellnocdrain(read above).

Look at Out Run and Last Ninja

  • Uh, duh? It was done on a Commodore 64 soundchip, what do you expect? :P

  • so zombie nation is a redone version of C64 Lazy Jones Star Dust?

  • Kernkraft 400 is the name of the song, not zombie nation

  • C64 had some good tunes. just proves that these gaming dudes had better musical talent then actual dance and techno musicians. lol

  • *cries* God, you really hurt me...

  • Look at my info, that's all I do you homophobe.

  • its the original song.

  • guido jock? what? you pissed off because this nightclub head pumping anthem has geeky origins in C64 gameology? LOL.

  • Yup, you caught me.

  • The reason I didn't put MSX is because I made the wave sample from a C64 emulator.

  • wow ...thats odd never realized that 0_0

  • wow.... i didnt know that, but this a great tune for sampling so i don´t wonder that kernkraft 400 did it....

  • Band is called Zombie Nation, song is Kernkraft 400

  • anyone remembers the music from "deactivators" ?

  • Holy shit, I had no idea that song came from a C64 game. C64 music was awesome.

  • not a C64 only game... also a ZX Spectrum and MSX game.

  • Thank you for posting this. Anyone who likes the Zombie Nation song should know its roots.

    C64 forever!!!!

  • dam dam da di da. dam da da di da dim da daa di dab.

    this song kix ass

  • damn, Is it just me or does C64 music kick ass? Retro sounds ftw!

  • lol techno viking in the tags

  • catchy tune, but why did people thumbs down mista? it's a german artist, zombie nation, the song is kernkraft 400 which is german for atomic energy 400. wikipedia FTW

  • thank you for getting the right facts..

  • Commodore 64 music is INSANELY good.

  • That guy DID make two utterly n00bish mistakes.

  • That is what I said.
