  • @ozzyguy67

    Amen to that!

  • its okay now that's the "World most experienced airlines" comes to Qantas but Pan American World Airways is the first "World most experienced airlines"

Qantas 87 years........ You can't beat the experience!

  • IM SOOO FUKING PROUD BEING PART OF QANTAS AIRLINE.

  • best and still safe airline and they care for everyone unlike another airliners no much compassion towards their passenger.

  • This orchestral version of Down Under makes me cry.

  • uh whats the name of this song?

  • This ad was made back when Qantas didn't have any a380's :-(

  • They are the oldest independent airline. KLM went down and merged with Air France to become Air France-KLM and as a result KLM (and AF) is no longer independent.

Besides, it's not like KLM are any better. I fly with them frequently and I personally think they're awful, long-haul moreso than short-haul. Short-haul flights are okay.

  • Delta is the Worlds Most Experienced Airline when it comes to terrible customer service.

  • @garno555 That made me laugh so much, it is so true!

  • Maybe you have right. I don't had a chance to fly Qantas yet. But I know, that our Malev and your Qantas are in the same alliance, so I think, that as a member of Oneworld they are truly great. For me Pan Am remained in my brain with this slogan, because (maybe we can agree in it) they really were great and experienced. And as this slogan is part of the PAA heritage (I think), I think, that the airline deserves to use this is DAL. But it easily can be, that Qantas is more experienced, than DAL.

  • i love the music and the add too :P <3

  • I really like Qantas and I believe, that they are one of the most experienced carriers on the Earth, but for me Pan Am remains the World's most experienced airline, because they stated it about themselves first.

Qantas is absolutely great, but my opinion is, that the current most experienced (so mostly similar to PAA, the original most experienced) is Delta Air Lines. And I'm not American.

  • Always has been safe, otherwise people would be dying when they fly with them. Every airline has mishaps, you're only hearing about Qantas because it IS the world's safest airline by a long shot and is thus projected onto a world stage. Hasn't been any serious incidets since QF 30. Never had a crash, nor a fatality in the jet age. Qantas - The World's Most Experienced Airline

  • The worlds most experienced airline? pppfffffftttt..

With all that experience...the flights are boring, the aircraft are old, the fares are expensive, the meals taste like crap and the cabin crew are so arrogant.., they think that the sun shines are out of their asses..need I mention that with all the many ethnic ppl living in Australia, QF still has White Australia policy when it comes to employment..Just look around you at the airport and especially on board.

  • No one cares what you think. Everyone knows Qantas today is still the world's safest airlines.

  • @jesaulenko70

    Amen brother!

  • Mind blowing orchestral I wonder if it's available anywhere Greg ham you are a musical genius

  • does anyone know the music?

  • land down under . men at work

  • they use the word 'continuously' and qantas never stopped flying during the war, so it beats KLM

  • Qantas service was suck!!! i flew them twice from SIN-LHR-SIN and one of the FA spilled milk on me and did not even gave me tissue.

not to mention in 2007 when Tiger Airways Australia was willingly to pay Qantas to handle their ground service in Alice Spring apt they rejected it cos TA is their competitors, without realising that TA's parent company which is Singapore Air handling all Qantas and JetStar ground service in SIngapore (their most important hub outside OZ). I find it disgusting.

  • @SQ163 i find you disgusting.

  • where can i get this song on it?!?!? i love it

  • Myth: Qantas is the oldest airline.

Fact: Its the 2nd oldest airline, after KLM.

Myth: Qantas has never had a crash fatality

Fact: They have had multiple fatalities. most due to war incidences. However 17 lives were lost during the immediate post war era.

  • Response

    KLM is the oldest airline

Fact: Qantas is the only airline that hasnt gone bankrupt! Un like KLM

Fact: Qantas is the worlds oldest and most trusted airline! Fact

  • Continuously... So your point is not valid.

Qantas have never lost a jet aircraft.

  • For the first thing you said, didn't KLM stop during WW2 for a while, but later came back? Qantas was continuous

  • Qantas airline staff are so nice to pasengers ill fly with them again

  • Give me British airways thanks !

  • I love qantas

  • The worlds most Experienced Airline is just a campaign slogan, it is not a standard in which Qantas lives by.

  • Based on the events of 2008, I could not agree more.

  • You gain experience from going through such events. Thus, they ARE one of the most experienced airlines.

  • That's an interesting way of putting it.

  • "One of the most experience airline" is something i would agree with, not "The worlds Most experience airline".

  • but it is true,

Qantas is the world has run continuenly for over 87 because although BA was made 1 year b4 Qantas they never operated during the war so that takes 5 years off BA and Qantas wins.

  • Well boys, what do you think now ,strike again & look for another job,

  • Comment removed

  • BUT, you'll only be served one alcoholic drink at a time! MEGA CHEAP!

  • People, PLEASE!!! There is no "U" in QANTAS. It's an acronym!!!

  • I know, I work for them and it might sound petty, but it gets really annoying after a while!

    QANTAS!!! not Quantas or Qwantas!

  • QUeensland And Northern Territory Aerial Services

  • Do you think chinese want Qantas you have to be jokeing, heeeeeeeeeeee

  • I'd say now Qantas is the best domestic airline in the world. I mean, is it just a coincidence that they start having so many problems in their international services not long after they sell half of Qantas to China? What a waste of something Australians could call ours.

  • Sell to China?? OH PLEASE. Don't make me laugh. Where did you make up the story from.

  • Go read some shit.

  • The Aussie govt will always remain the owner of 51% of Qantas. Otherwise they'll look like arses for letting so many jobs get outsourced.

  • I am Chinese, but never heard about such thing on those medias in China. I only heard about British Airways. Have a look at those shitty airlines in China operated by Chinese themselves. How would they be able to buy QANTAS?

  • add &fmt=18 at the end of the URL, much better quality!!

  • No respect they ripped of PAA's slogan!

  • think about it... who deserves it pan am or qantas?

  • i quite like that version of land down under haha

  • OMG! it IS the land sown under :D AWESOME!

  • As for Qantas baggage handlers thay should send there wifes and kids to do there jobs,Thay are a bunch of girls ,If Qantas and there workers do not wake up soon thay will end up like Ansett airline.

  • Comment removed

  • With an attitude like that, I'm surprised any airline whatsoever accepts you for travel.

  • What's the name of the song?

  • Its a soft instrumental version of "Land Down Under" from Men At Work. I am in talks with Qantas to see if they could release it.

  • Qantas has copied the PANAM slogan from 70´s!! What a shame!

    Fernando

  • Look I may have overreacted, Qantas is a fine airline and I used to fly them in 2000 but I havent in a long time. The A380 looks great with Qantas new interior and colors. KLM is also a fine airline and its sad they arent getting the A380, but actually:

KLM was founded on Oct 7, 1919, first flew May 17, 1920

Qantas was founded on Nov 16,1920, first flew in 1922.

I would like to say KLM didn't stop operation in WWII they moved their hub to england They are the oldest then Qantas nice ad btw!

  • Actually Qantas is the world's oldest continually operating airline as KLM has merged with Air France to create Air France KLM and as such KLM does not exist as a separate entity anymore

  • Isn't KLM the world's oldest airline?

  • KLM didn't fly during World War II. So although it is older than QANTAS, qantas is flying continuously for longer.

  • Yes it is. But Qantas didn't go wrong claiming they're the most experienced.

  • Does anyone know who made this Orchestral version of Land Down Under? or was it just composed for this ad?

  • Even though it may not be the oldest airline in the world it certainly does have an excellent safety record.

  • Qantas is the longest airline to have operated CONTINUOUSLY; that makes it the most experienced. Get over yourself jt.

  • i wouldn't believe wikipedia if i were you...not everything is true

  • Qantas was at its peak of greatness when Ansett was around.

There was a competitive feel of which airline had the best service and best product to offer in Australia.

Hot breakfasts on real plates and real cutlery were a standard feature in economy!

James Strong as CEO was the best thing for Qantas.

Now, you're lucky to even get a newspaper, let alone a smile.

When Alan Joyce takes over, Qantas will end up just like Aer Lingus has when he was CEO of them. A piss-poor airline.

  • Qantas has worlds'worst in-flight service. The hostesses are rude, intolerant and mono-cultural. Avoid it if you can.

  • Is that why Qantas was named the 3rd best airline in the world just 1 week ago??

  • that's bullshit mate. i work in Hong Kong, and fly home regularly with Qantas. The cabin crew ALWAYS have at least 3 Cantonese-speakers among them; and if its an Air France Codeshare, a French-speaker on board too. They're not rude either.

  • By the time Qantas fly "international" Pan Am was already forging flights across the Pacific, as it had been flying "internationally" for 10 years.

So...STOP FAKING it Qantas...you are a good airline, but your will NEVER be the worlds most experienced.

Moreover, Qantas did not fly across the Pacific until AFTER both Pan Am (the leader) and aviation pioneer NORTHWEST AIRLINES.

Give it up Qantas...fire the fraud that stole PAA's slogan!

  • Cino1, the only thing Pan Am and Northwest and any other American airline are more experienced at is crashing!!

  • PS. typical american attitude.

They can't stand it when someone or something from another country does better. Another thing your american airlines are more experienced at is going bankrupt :)

  • Qantas had already been flying 7 years before Pan Am was established. It then ceased operations (first time) in 1991.

That's a 24 year head start over Pan Am. I suppose 24 years counts for something.

  • P.S.

What homage to Pan Am...to COPY their Slogan!

    How UNoriginal copycat.

  • How can Pan Am be the most experienced? They no longer exist. And if they are so much better and experienced then Qantas then why did the go bankrupt?

  • P.S. Crossing the Atlantic while a massive undertaking, isn't anywhere near as difficult as Sydney to London back in the clipper/constellation era.

An even larger feat is performing Sydney-Los Angeles - a non stop route was not possible economically until the Boeing 747-400 was produced.

  • Hardly THE WORLD'S most experience. The world's experience comes from being the FIRST to fly the world, deliver the FIRST global destinations...hardly something Qantas can claim.

I think you have CLEARLY over reached in your assessment. Old does NOT equate to global experience. That indisputably is and will always be....Pan American World Airways!

  • Qantas started 7 years before Pan Am.

Qantas flew its first international flight 2 years before Pan Am.

When Pan Am was in its prime, Qantas had the highest average distance per flight, a significant amount more than Pan Am - certainly a requirement given the distance from the rest of the world.

Its this distance that meant Australia had both an airline and an Air Force before the US had either.

  • 00:13

"having flown for over 87 years, that is older than any other airline"

that's the part I talked about, and I repeat, I actually like the ad. and Qantas is most likely better than KLM.

  • Qantas are saying that they're the "World's modt experienced Airline", not the oldest. Considering Qantas started in March 1919 and has continually provided a service, without break, with a perfect safety record and are one of only a few airlines, globally, to post a profit year after year, I'd say they WERE the most experienced. Wouldn't you?

  • oh i must add... i like this ad :)

  • i hate to be a prick

but KLM has been on since 1919 which is 89 years mate. Merger or no Merger the tail wing with KLM on it has been around for longer. Perhaps Qantas is better and has better seats and leg room, but KLM is still older.

    cheers

  • KLM had horrible accient, but QANTAS had none.

  • KLM also stopped flying during WW2 while Qantas was able to keep flying most of its routes, so Qantas has been flying continuously for longer

  • this add is a load of crap!!! klm is older (although i prefer qantas myself)!! obviously they dont have the most experianced marketing department in the world!!! lol

  • As my opinion, if they can make such good ad, why they won't use that money to upgrade their service? Delay at lease 2hrs some to euro even delay 12hrs, bad service from the flight attendent, self serve cup noodle beacause everybody very hungry, no forks on the plant(that's the first time I heard). The ad words should say " The World's Most worest experienced airline". Be clear, if you want buy a high price ticket but bad service for your trip.

  • I've never flown them. But I think it's safe to say you're retarded.

  • yea i definately need to know which orcestra performed this version of the Men at Work song "land down under"

  • SONG!!!! please

i kno its men at work land down under

who performs this version, where can i find it ?!?!

  • sorry, not a reply. i want to download the song too....heard it in the commercial and really want it. so nice!!!can you tell where to dl it when you find the link? thanks

  • LOVELY to see Qantas advertising on TV and that they are making so much of their history, their service and their route. What a wonderful airline - we love you Qantas.

  • However Quantas has not been INDEPENDENT for the last 87 years .Between 1934 to 1945 it was 49% Imperial Airways and 49% Quantas with the other 2% independent . This formed a new Company Qantas Empire Airways Limited .

That all said its a fab Ad and a fab airline

  • KLM is the Oldest Airline in the world but due to the Merger with Air France it is now known as Air France-KLM .The takeover by Air France marked the end of the oldest INDEPENDENT airline in the world.

This has now allowed Qantas to say that they are the worlds most Experanced airline in the world.

  • great advert, qantas have it sussed, wish i was back in OZ...would love to get that version of land down under....does anyone know who composed it!!??

  • I want to go on it

  • I am a UK based Qantas Flight Attendant. Thanks for posting!

  • anyone know the name or the orchestra or person who does the land down under remix in the background?!

  • Does anyone know how to get a copy of the music for this ad?

  • The song is a rendition of Down Under, by Men at Work

  • Thanks a bunch. I was looking for the name of that song, you saved me tons of time :).

  • do you have the tune of this advert?

  • its land down under

  • yeah but the orcestra version

  • according to wikipedia, Qantas is now the worlds oldest airline as KLm has merged with air france.

  • the song is called "land down under" by men at work. this song has been edited for the commercial though.

  • wuts the song!>?????????

  • QANTAS AIRWAYS is the best!

  • pan am was once the world's most experienced airline

  • i thought KLM was suppose to be the oldest airline in the world?

  • Yes, KLM IS the oldest airline in the world. It was founded 7 October 1919, 13 months before QANTAS. However, QANTAS is the oldest airline in the english speaking world and also the longest continuously operating airline in the world. KLM stopped operations during WWII.
