carrol shelby has been with ford since the mid 60's he hes apart of ford and in fact if you go to a ford delearship you will see the GT500 on display and for sale in the lots also cobras ford went from 5.0 engines to 4.6 because it was light and gave better car performance and how the hell could it have got worse with the new stock S197 models putting out 300 crank hp with 320 lbs feet of torpue o-60 in 5.4 seconds stock 04- 99 gts put out 260 crank hp 285 torque so your backwards what do u push

The 4.6 is heavy as hell for what it is, and you didn't even address the fact it has a DOHC, That is so tuner it's not even funny how can anyone even call the Mustang "Muscle"? And look at how much they have to add to their cars to get the same power even Chevy makes..They have to supercharge the hell out of the GT500 to get it to perform like the Corvette and even the Ford GT. Chevy and Ford always get much more power out of smaller engines.

Wow..I'm sorry that car really is incredible..Mine is close to that naturally aspirated and the only thing I've done is a cat-back exhaust..I've got a k&n air filter, but that's all that is, an air filter. That's with a one camshaft 2 valve per cylinder pushrod engine and no I don't think Dual Overhead Cam is American at all..That was taken from ricers..

The old Chargers are definately better cars, I can't disagree with that. Still, the '06-'09 Chargers are nice, powerful cars. I don't really care if they don't have the retro look to them. The Charger SRT8 runs right along side the Challenger SRT8...and with four doors. The retro look that the Challenger, Camaro, and Mustang have is cool, but that's not all it takes to make a great car.

They don't sound the same because they're not the same displacement. The old hemi, the 426 was 7.0L, the new hem's are 5.7 and 6.1 litres. Also, new cars have emission controls, in the 60s and 70s there were no, or very little emission controls at all. They change the exhaust note. Stop moaning about real and fake hemis. Dodge makes REAL HEMIS.
