  • Is he talking about fish?

  • these have pretty good bASS

  • If you are willing to spend 450 bucks then go for the Sennheiser IE8

  • Cheap shits they sound like my 15 dollar Phillip earbuds worth 15 dollars not 87

  • @encoredade605

Where did you buy them, sounds to me like you bought fakes or you are using a very very shitty source. Phillips earbuds are crap.

  • BASS ENTHUSI-ASS

  • in ears with VERY GOOD BASS AND VERY GOOD SOUND???? bose, shure, sennheiser, klipsch, beats or sony?? wich of them are good???

  • @masterb00ster

Klipsch, beats, shure, sennheiser all good. Beats is a bit expensive in my opinion but if you want bass, they're typically the #1 option at under $200~.

Sony is also good but mostly for their higher end over ear headphones. After all Sony did create the King of Headphones many a years ago.

  • @AsAnAtheistFilms Agree with the first part. I don't know anything about sony higher end headphones, but I've heard that <20 sony earphones are the best for their price range ;). Thnx for the review btw.

  • @skillerohn

Some of sony's over ear headphones are quite good for the price, however their in ears are generally not that good.

If your looking for low budget try MEElectronics

  • @masterb00ster Depends how much you want to spend.

  • have you seen the sennheiser I8? which do you think is better? The I8 or this one? Thanks a lot...

  • @quinch110508 Of course the i8.

  • Guys, how about a-Jays Three or t-Jays Three?

  • @EverLush I hear pretty average reviews for those, what kind of headphones do you use now, what kind of headphone are you looking for, and what is your price range?

  • i agree the cable isn't great to thin but never ever ever ever tangle :D, great headphones. BUY THEM!!!!

  • @AsAnAtheistFilms Cool, thanks man.

  • Play.com have these for just £21.99 - are these really premium earphones? - ive heard their better than dre beats! OUCH!

  • i bought the jlab hifi for 20 cheaper so far i love them will get the s4 next time or the yamahas

  • How long do these last?

  • @TheNerdKnownAsDavid

As long as you take care of them a little more than usual, just a tad bid more they should last a long time. They still work actually my sister has them now. So almost 2 years.

  • Lol bass (like the fish)

  • Hi, does

Anyone know the difference between the Klipsch Image S4 and Klipsch Reference S4??

  • @mrtommy712

No known difference yet, so far just aesthetic changes mixed with a controller for volume and play/skip functions for the Iphone.

  • @AsAnAtheistFilms Do you have to rotate 180 deg to get better sound quality? That seems to be a huge discussion on Amazon reviews

  • @mrtommy712 they'll be better in sound somehow, or maybe build quality or both :)

    hope it helped :D

  • I love headphones with good bass.

bought these the bass is not bad and sound is very clean however still prefer the sound quality of my old V-modas heavy bass good for r&b. quality for the V-modas however are rubbish holes in my cord after one year of use...

  • Like the product. Get a new mile for your equipment.

  • klipsch s4 or ultimate ears 500??

  • BASS LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • fuck the police

  • Bass? Bass?? BASS?!?!!

It's spelled bass, but it's pronounced BASE.

    Wow, get it right.

Think I'm wrong? Listen to the song 'Bass Down Low'...

  • bass...lol

  • Is this cable braided?

  • @eight67five309

    Nope it is not braided.

  • wich are better for listen rock/punk/metal?! monster jamz, beats by dre tour or klipsch s4?! PLEASE HELP!

  • @ThePurpleDrumStick

Klipsch S4 fairs better at the ranges you will need.

  • i just bought these and they have a straight jack fuck me...

  • i bought mine from the klipsch website for 79 and it was free shipping with 30 day return policy

  • i feel like i'm watching pop up video on VH1. Give it a rest on the pop annotations guy *hide*. And update your shit. There hasn't been"rate 5 stars" for a long time now...

  • I bought Dre Beats OVER-RATED. Need to know what are the best earbuds.

  • I bought mine off eBay. Well, I mean they were fakes (the Klipsch logo rubbed off within an hour of taking them out of the box), but they sound amazing!

  • @MBP6705

NO! The fake ones sounds horrible!!!

    im very disappoint

  • Comment removed

  • I'm curious as im not a native english speaker... how is it correctly pronounced "bass" or "base" for sound? and why does "bass" in sound and "bass" in fishing is written the same way and pronounced differently? Looks like english language makes no sense sorry :) Can someone clarify that for me? Thank you!!! P.S: Great review.

  • Huh, I wonder why you pronounce bass like that.

Did you grow up fishing or something?

Were you never exposed to the term bass in terms of audio?

    I'm curious

  • @fossil98

It's a childhood habit, not sure why. Even in music class I would always pronounce it like the fish.

  • As an Atheist, you review headphones?

  • I use these with the Cowon iaudio9 and they're superb, my only gripe is the tips, which keep falling out. Screw my weirdly proportioned ears.

  • bas bas bas, thought i was watching a fishing video eventually :L

  • i kinda bought these today with lotsa expectations.. and to be honest they sounded ok but not exceptional.. they never sounded better that $18 sound magic pl30's which i own.. bass is so tinny and i dunno... im so disappointed.. have heard any ear phones with good low end bass? which wud make us say wow! first time we hear them? like a subwoofer in your ears..! i dont believe in burn in as even manufactures dont say anything about burn in... any sugestions? thanks!

  • @akilghosh

I mentioned they were not not bass oriented. I am unsure what source and player your using but perhaps that's where the problem is.

Nah i don't have suggestions atm, I haven't really kept up with in ear monitors, I've moved on to full sized headphones.

  • @akilghosh I have a pair of Samsung Earbuds that came with my phone.

They are easily the best headphones I've ever owned. It's like having a sub in your ears.

  • @goatmilk222 the samsung default ones suck ass...

these clearly outclass them in every way, remember that they need to burn in for about 50 hours before working properly.

  • @bobba515 I don't know what the default earbuds are because the ones I have are great and anyone that's listened to them agrees.

  • @akilghosh just try burning them in it sounds way better after 100+ hours

  • I regret buying these. Totally wasted $80!!!

  • is the cord annoyingly long?

  • I'm picking these up in a few hours. I must've not did enough researching though because I never knew there were fish inside of them o_O

  • what would you chose, Klipsch IMAGE S4? or the Rockford Fosgate Punch Plugs?

  • you dont get fakes on amazon... and amazon is always 5-10 dollars cheaper... just saying

  • I use AKG324P's which are basically Senheisser CX300's optimized for more bass, do you think these would be a good step of from those, do you know if there are any foam replacement tips for them around

I also tried skullcandy and I agree they are trash

  • @darkchildxs

Yes they would be a decent step from the AKG 324P.

Yes there are foam replacement tips for them check ebay out:

You are going to be looking for something like the Audio Technica EP-FT5 Foam tips. Size depends on your ear canal. They should not cost over $15~

  • PLEASE REPLY: r these louder then the monster turbines because i bought some today and i was very dissapointed with the turbines ?

  • @skllz415

Most In Ear monitors should be capable of doing very loud volumes, this is because once they seal around your ear all of the sound goes into your ear unlike full sized headphones which leak.

Monster Turbines are fine in ear monitors, a bit over priced but good non the less. Your volume issues may come from the device you are using them with not the headphones. I recommend looking at purchasing a budget DAC/AMP. Head over to head-fi dot org for help choosing a budget DAC/AMP.

  • Question. Does anybody know if there are fake s4's out there?

  • @getowned79

There are fakes out there, however I don't remember the website that told the differences in packaging/etc.

  • @AsAnAtheistFilms I bought mine at amazon are they likely to be fake?

  • @getowned79

Amazon often doesn't sell the product it self most of the times. Can you PM me the link?

Also keep in mind Amazon is kind of like ebay except they themselves also sell many products and they offer drop shipping to other companies (other companies keep stock at amazon's warehouses/amazon ships the orders). If they themselves fufilled the order, then you are pretty much safe that they are real. If not, then compare them to genuine headphone pictures online.

  • @outkast2121

    With Chipotle flavor Tabasco?

  • Mmmmm, lightly fried bass.

  • wow the basss ur saying is a fish!!!! pronounce it like base but spelled bass

  • @JAMESJAKEGO bass is spelled same as bass.... fish and the music sound is spelled same lol . if u say base that's like saying "base is under attack" like baseball base.

  • wait..WHAT!? Klipsch dont guarantee the wires!?!? what the F!! NOOOOHH T___T

The wires always - ALWAYS - fail on me..T___T and i bought them yesterday online.

But hopefully i can sleep with em , as in listening to em while lying on my side without hurting my ear canal.

  • @CuzCrostyPwns

Yeah it kinda sucks that they don't guarantee the wires. So far mine are still going strong.

  • @CuzCrostyPwns i want headphone that are not as great but u can trust they wont break when u sleep are Sony regular headphones not in ear i have had them for about 4 months and i skate and sleep with them on gl these headphones are great. great review.

  • Hi i was wondering whether they stick far out of the ear,.

  • @FSUfrenzy911 no they don't.

  • Comment removed

  • @nubcakehero

Yeah I know what Microphonics is although I usually just call it cable noise.

The cable noise is present however it is not significant and does not come from the actual headphones enough to be a problem at the volume I listening to them. I will give you a recommendation however as.. nerdy as it will look. When you put them up, use the cable adjuster and push it upwards to your throat.

  • @nubcakehero

The noise comes from your ears being sealed, and whenever your the area of your face hits the cable or anything. This happens when your ears are sealed, headphones or plugs. The cable adjuster will help the cable to stay still, so it shouldn't be as problematic.

  • when i get the money i am going to get a pair of these but for right now i am going to have to stick with skullcandy.

  • Hey, a friendly word of advice. Bass is pronounced Bay-ss not Bas :)

  • Just got these, they're amazing. One question, have you tried the Cowon J3 PMP yet? I've heard great things and would like to know your opinion on them.

Great review btw, much more informative than others.

  • @MUGGS077

No I am afraid I have not tried the Cowon J3 PMP yet. Afraid I can't comment on it either.

  • can you wear them over the ear? like bring up the earbuds over and around the ear.

I have a pair of shures earbuds that i really like but i might need to get s4i when i get iphone 4 and was wondering if these could be worn over the ear like shures.

    thanks

  • @breadgood

I don't think you can, at least not comfortably.

  • I listen to quite a few different types of music: rock, heavy metal, jazz, classical etc. Are these balanced enough to do all the different genres justice? Thanks in advance :)

  • Hey man, I listen to 80's metal and hard rock and am debating on buying these earphones. Do you think that these would be good for that or do you reccommend anything else?

  • @AngeloGrazianoo

These headphones are perfect for all styles of rock. I listen to a lot of rock, hip pop, jazz, and some metal and I haven't found any better headphones for the price.

  • @AngeloGrazianoo I have these and i'm a huge rock fan. Mostly Ac/dc, Guns n Roses and more. I love these so much, the only thing is that the bass is kinda weak but if your a rock fan then the bass is the least of your problem. Also with them in my mom was screaming at me and i couldn't hear one thing she said, Best buds i've ever bought and also go onto klipsch.com and register them so if they end up breaking you get another pair from klipsch for free.

  • I am looking for new earphones, how do the klipsch compare to the bose in ear earbuds

  • @kevtherev126

They are superior to the bose earbuds in every way, shape, or form..

when buying Bose, keep in mind what B.O.S.E stands for:

    Buy other sound equipment ^.-

  • haha, bas. xD

  • Im stuck between buying these klipsch, monster turbines or the beats by dr dre. could someone please advise me on which ones have the better quality and bass. I am a slight bass junkie but i still like to hear the crisp highs on the soul genre.

  • @lilscribblez

Out of the three for a "slight" bass junkie I would recommend the Monster turbines.

  • @AsAnAtheistFilms I was told the klipsch have a more punchy bass than the turbines but the turbines have a more rich bass....so i'm still slightly stuck. most of the types of music i listen to is like, soul,r&b,hip-hop but then also abit of drum and bass. so i want a earphone that can handle all of it.

  • @lilscribblez

Hmm. I'd recommend getting the Turbines still. You must understand the Klipsch Image S4's bass it not exactly what you'd consider bass-head like-able.

Here's how I would put it. Bass= Turbines (drowns mids :| most bass oriented headphones drown one part) Drums=Klipsch for you (lacks good blend of mid and highs for classical music)

  • @AsAnAtheistFilms i agree with that skullcandy fucking suck and worse headphones are sony and by the way can continue joking on skullcandy in the inbox and sony is overprice and they don't even know how to make audio sound good it just hidden behind bass

  • if you pronounce bass like the fish, audiophiles will never take your videos seriously. you better fix that problem dude, but all in all the vid was pretty good.

  • ok buddy ur saying bass like bass the fish its pronounced like bass the kind of guitar... ok almost as if there was an e on the end ...

  • I am thinking of getting those, but will the jack fit on the SanDisk Sansa Clip+ ?

  • Hey bro, got a question. Picked these up a week ago, and noticed that I've got some flakes of earwax accumulating on the outside of the squishy earplug things. I personally think the 'earwax cleaner' isn't all that great, so...would you recommend running just the earplug through a little bit of water or something? Or, do you think that would mess them up?

  • @BadBoy787512

Yeah the earwax cleaner is meant to clean the inside of the rubber earbuds. About your question, yes you can use water (hot water preferably) only on the rubber earplugs and not the actual earphones. Please set the rubber ear plugs or buds to dry after you rinse with water. Even a small drop of water is enough to mess up the ear phones. I found the best way to clean them is to use a micro fiber cloth for the outside, and the ear wax cleaner for the inside.

  • I cant hear a thing, use mics please. No 5 stars, but the phones are great indeed, I have them.

  • I got a mic recently. So I won't have to use the webcam's mic. Anyways try upping your volume a bit if you can't hear. Or perhaps using a sound card.

  • No, I didn't mean egronomics, I meant Etymotics. Thanks anyway.

  • @kongodonk

Ah okay. Etymotics are a brand of ear buds, also pretty good quality. The Etymotics hf5's are pretty good, however are more expensive and are very much like the Image S4's in terms of sound quality... If anything at all I found the Image S4's to have a better sound quality when put at higher volume levels. Also I found the image s4 to be more comfortable, the hf5 gave an odd feeling maybe because of it's weight or length...

  • I had a pair of these, but I fucking lost them. Anyway, what are these "eromonics" or something headphones keep mentioning?

  • You must mean "ergonomics". Ergonomics is the study of designing a product around the worker's (or consumer's) comfort. For example: Ergonomic keyboards are designed to keep your wrists supported so you don't hurt your hand.

Ergonomic Headphones means the headphones where designed around the ear to provide comfort. You should never believe a manufacturer when they claim to be ergonomic headphones, the only way to find out if it's really comfortable to try them.

  • never heard of burning in headphones

  • basically playing all your songs and just leave them playing by themselves or playing different notes/noise brown, white, pink etc

  • thanks for the pre video warning of the pronunciation of "bass"

  • Best value in in earphones , very well balanced. These have no major weaknesses , superb value.

These are not accurate to the point of being called monitors but...the overall quality for the price is tops.

  • are they better than the beats by dr. dre tour? lol

  • Beats by Dr Dre Tour headphones are good ear buds however they are too focused on Hip Pop then providing a balance of low, mids, and highs. When I tried the on ear Beast by Dr Dre II was not impressed quite frankly. It was just a boomy bass, with decent mids and highs.

If your listening to RnB/Hip Pop or bass oriented music, then yes perhaps the Beats by Dr Dre are for you. If your looking to get the best sound quality, with a balance of lows, mids, and highs for under $200 then the S4 win.

  • i like hip hop so ya i like my beats

  • @AsAnAtheistFilms Im stuck between buying these klipsch, monster turbines or the beats by dr dre. could someone please advise me on which ones have the better quality and bass. I am a slight bass junkie but i still like to hear the crisp highs on the soul genre.

  • are these better then the bose in ear headphones

  • Yes. A lot better.

  • i want to try Klipsch Image S4 earbuds.

  • Buy them from a electronics store that offer a return policy on their merchandise. Try them out if you like them/can live with the price keep them, otherwise return them. Thats why they have return policies :P so you can try them out/return if your unsatisfied.

  • i tryed the skull candys and it sucks ass. i have boss earbuds its good bass but not has bass has i want.

  • I just purchased them yesterday at Best Buy $79.99 and they are awesome. Well worth the investment. I wish I would have tried the skull candy first because i hear they are almost as great and a third of the cost.

  • Not sure where you heard that but I can assure you that the Skullcandy's cannot match the Image S4 in sound quality or price for that matter.

  • I totally agree with you man. I can't understand people who rate skull candies well. Its just a huge wall of overpowering bass. Weak highs, muddy mids, and way too much artificial bass. My gawd, no balance at all. Klipsch is much better. But... no warranty on wires? :(

  • Yeah no warranty on wires. The warranty only on the micro speaker. So far my wires are holding up fine. As long as they last me 1 year I'm good.

  • what would u say is the best mp3 player concerning quality for ur music? since ppl all the time criticize ipod for its bad music quality

  • Your probably gonna have to go with Cowon's or Sony's Mp3 players. The Cowon's seem to be popular with the Audiophiles, and it appears the Sony X walkman series may replace the Cowon.

  • man they just came out with white ones!!! look even better

  • SOLD ME !!!!! im going to best buy tmrw

  • I got mine with my employee discount for 41 at best buy. Love these things.

  • @Raunky The power requirements for earbuds are very minute. A sound amplifier only amplifies sound not give more power to the speakers or headphones. An amplifier is used to reduce distortion, noise, and improve sound quality/volume through complex algorithms. The most common factors for low volume are as follows:

    1. Sound board used on device (computer, mp3, stereo etc)

    2. 3.5mm jack in/3.5mm Jack out design/materials. Remember manufacturing defects.

    3. Heaphone design.

    4. Defects in products.

  • the sound quality 4 the s4 is good for the price, but its just not as loud as my skull candy. Played my ipod at 25%, 50%, 75% volume and the skull candy quality is just a notch below these s4, but the skull candy were louder at these level.

  • skull candys are terrible. you cannot compare them.

  • That would be because, since the Klipsch headphones are better physically, they eat up more power, and to fill this power need, you need an external headphone amp, since the one in the iPod is garbage.

Basically, the quieter any particular set of headphones are when driven by an iPod, usually the better the quality.

  • Bay-ss is what you mean. Bah-ss is a fish. Pretty hard to understand you, a lot of noise in the background, otherwise, great review. Very detailed.

  • I'm thinking of buying these earbuds, but I have never been fond of ear buds. My ears are a normal shape, but I just have a hard time keeping say like, the headphones that come in-stock with the Zune in my ears. Will these fit into my ears like ear plugs??

  • I seem to understand that you have problems keeping headphones in your ear. Yes the Zune headphones have the issue of falling of your ear, I have a pair of them too.

Yes the Klipsch Image S4 are in-ear earbuds. So they go inside your ear just like an ear plug. They are very very comfortable, and rarely do they ever fall off. I have literally washed dishes/gotten the tips wet and still have not slipped off.

  • @AsAnAtheistFilms Awesome! I will be getting my pair soon then. I've went through 3 of the Bose Tri-Port headphones.... and I just didn't feel like getting another used or new pair. They are a little overpriced. I have a Klipsch home theater system... the F-2 system, actually and the Promedia system for my PC. I didn't think I could go wrong getting these buds, but I just had to make sure they go in like ear plugs and stay in. Thanks!!

  • does anyone know if the large double flange tips are bigger than the large ones? cuz im plannin on gettin them but not sure if the fit will work

  • No they're the same size just double flange. It looks pretty cool.

  • so is there any difference between those two? cuz im looking for something bigger

  • Oh pardon me, I got confused with what you were asking. Yes there is a slightly bigger tip, it's the double flange large tips those are the largest they have.

  • do they have this in canada

  • Try London Drugs (read comments below).

  • could you try to speed it up a bit next time...? boooooooooring.

    thanks for trying though.

  • hehe I was thinking the same thing, next time I will make a bullet type of presentation.

  • What about in comparison to Bose earphones? They seem good, too. Great review though!

  • There's a saying with audiophiles:

"No highs, no lows must be a Bose"

I wouldn't recommend Bose headphones or ear buds for sound quality, the only thing I can recommend is their noise canceling technology as it is yet to be surpassed, those QC3 are amazing.

I have tried Bose in ear earbuds, and they greatly under perform for their price. That is if you can keep the Bose in your ears (they fall out constantly).

  • Bass is pronounced 'BAISE', not bass!

  • Read the first annotation. I already knew prior to uploading the video, sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Ssssorrry but the number of times you said "bazz" makes me think didin't know of how to pronounce it prior to uploading the video :P and lol at comparing the size with a coin like on the klipsch page for these ear phones :)

anyways i wanna buy retail too but futureshop and bestbuy dont sell these in canada TT anywhere else you think i could find them?

  • London Drugs may have them, for $106~ Canadian dollars which is roughly $102 USD

And yes I took the website's idea of the quarter comparison vs the earbud's.

  • bought these for christmas there good :) bass is heavy need to have the right earpiece tho

  • For me the bass is balance. not heavy not underwhelmed. I guess it's because I have tried really bass focused ear buds also.

  • Ha have you used sony in ears

  • which ones? They kinda have like a ton of models.

  • my bad the Noise Canceling Earbuds thay run about a $99

  • Uhm in guessing you mean the MDRNC22? i believe I have tired some other models of sony's noise canceling, which were bad. Good active noise canceling earbuds or headphones use an inaudible sound to retract with interference to dissipate the background sound. In cheaper models of Active noise canceling you will hear an internal hiss sound which gets overall annoying. Also turning off or running out of battery on the Noise canceling will produce horrible sound.

  • Yeah the Sony MDRNC22 share the same issue with the active noise canceling. If turned off, sound is horrible if on then you get an internal hiss..

  • u think u can wash the eartips instead of using that stupid waxing tool , like perhaps with water, or is that unsafe

  • For earwax in particular you need to use soap/water as water is not very efficient at cleaning off wax. I would highly recommend using the ear wax remover they give you. The tips are made from silicon, and therefore wax will easily come off with Q-tips or a tool like the one they give you.

  • @AsAnAtheistFilms use rubbing alcohol.
