@normalpsychology no mma and boxing are two different sports. there are much more variables in mma since you grapple and strike aswell making the the fight much more unpredictable. basically anything can happen anytime in a mma fight leading to the lower win/loss ratio you mentioned whereas in boxing usually the guy with the better technique wins. amateur cans exist in both sports although dana white probably wouldnt admit it. i personally enjoy watching all kinds of combat sports though.

Can someone explain to me how boxing records work? What I mean is, in the UFC, the average win percentage is around 75%. In boxing, almost all the guys' records I look at are around 90 or above percent. I seriously don't understand how they all have such great records. My only theory is that in boxing, more amateurs fight pros and therefore drop out after only five or so fights, thus increasing the pro fighters' records to insane win percentages... any help would be much appreciated...
