The reason why the SS started recruiting other races into their units was that by early 1943 the Nazis were desperate to fill the voids in their ranks due to the nazi's fighting on 2 fronts and their own numbers were dwindling. Even the "pure Germanic SS units" were being replenished with non-arian troops. There was even a unit made up of British volunteers.

@criminalmindgames And to answer your question about why Hitler had these other races fighting for him, well I thought it was obvious. The reason why the SS started recruiting other races into their units was that by early 1943 the Nazis were desperate to fill the voids in their ranks due to the nazi's fighting on 2 fronts and their own numbers were dwindling. Even the "pure Germanic SS units" were being replenished with non-arian troops. There was even a unit made up of British volunteers.

There is a big difference between the Wehrmacht and the SS.
What you are seeing are Wehrmacht and Heer troops. They are not necessarily Nazi's because it was the part of the constitution that Politics should not be involved in the Army. Although the Luftwaffe was heavily influenced by Nazi Ideology, the Wehrmacht remained unchanged. This is why later Hitler wanted his SS division to take over the role of the Wehrmacht as the SS are more loyal.

People could still travel and visit other countries, they just couldn't move millions of their kinsmen there and demand "rights". Racially mixed people are such a small percentage of the population that integrating them wouldn't be a problem. These are just my opinions.

@MalaysianNSocialist There were plenty of jews in the wermacht, pretty high ranking men to, i'm not sure if there were jews in the SS though, might have had jewish units, but i think that most SS units consisted of people of the same race mostly, atleast at the beginning of the war when things weren't as dire.

you realize there were no non Europeans in the Waffen SS, all of those people are Wehrmacht.
the main reason was...under the geneva convention you couldnt conscript alot of people into your army.
so Himmler decided to creata pan European front. And there were very small legions made in far foreign lands....they got very little funding, sometimes barely uniform patches.
