There are very few artists, that I can say have this abiilty to touch me so deeply with both lyrics, music and voice. This is one artist I can say has *actually* changed my life, the way i live every day, my aspirations of who and what I want my life to be. I am grateful he has been traveling the path that has allowed him to find himself, his voice, his sound, and to share it so beautifully with me, ultimately changing my life and what it means to me.
I drove a long way to see THIS Davis Wilcox at your festival. It was great, esp his smaller concert on "the grassy knoll" with Eliza Gilkyson et al. He is such an energizing, spiritually cleansing musician. I would drive it again.
Hey, I saw this David Wilcox in Cambridge, MA last year and if you're looking for great folk music, this is your guy. He's original, he loves what he does, writes most of his own stuff, and has a voice like velvet. And when he does sing something by someone else, it's usually better than the songwriter's version. Have a listen to "Great Big Moon." See for yourself.
Well, there both good, whats the big deal? I like the folkie but thats nothing against the bluesman....to be honest I never thought they pl;ayed the blues in Canada, now I know better
Here in Lloydminster AB the confusion bubbled up a few years ago when a local roadhouse advertised a David Wilcox show with the acoustic guy's image when in fact the electric guy was coming. The few of us showed up hoping for the guy above were quite disappointed. To say the least, a very different listening environment.
It is a matter of taste as to which David Wilcox appeals to you. I personally like the softer David Wilcox. Never heard of him til friends put his music on an IPOD gift they sent me when I was very ill.
Easy now ... the David Wilcox he is talking about is a very talented Canadian rock/blues artist. Much 'heavier' than this David, so you can understand his disappointment. He didn't have to leave a comment though ...
This is for Zappafan5150, YOU are a sad case,...it's quite apparent from your name you're unfamiliar with REAL music of merit. Did you name your kid MOON UNIT or Dweezle? Sincerely, Ethel, a tree growing on the side of Billy's shoulder
I was so pleased to find that this is the David Wilcox I've known and loved. If you came here looking for the Canadian David Wilcox, be sure to give this guy a shot. He'll speak to you on a completely different level and you'll be so glad you opened your heart to his music.
This is THE David Wilcox I've always loved and listened to for many years now. What a wonderful video clip. Thanks so much for posting it here and sharing with us.
EXCELLENT! This is EXACTLY the David Wilcox I was looking for! I wonder if'n there is more of this footage out there to be enjoyed. Nice to hear his comments on festivals.
What great playing, awesome singing and amazing guitar playing.

David Wilcox is totally unique. He has formed his own sound and is a gentle and good soul.

I have this CD, but it always chokes me up to hear this song as a live recording, from a different show. One of my favorites.
