Ashpec ECU with boost jets - 250 bucks. 400 crank horspower is yielded from the stage III upgrades, which is roughly around 330-340whp. 7K? you must have been trying to do a lot of na motor work on a vg30de. to be honest that i think was a great swap.. i mean think of it....how big a vg30 turbo engine is! clostophobic! an rb is a 1/3rd. smaller than a vg. plus the rb can be boosted up to 600 hp with bolt-ons be4 any major mods to the block! on the VG you have to rebuild the bottom end before it can take that hp!
I've never understood this swap. The VG30DETT has proven again and again that it can out perform the RB26DETT for less money. Then again this person probably decided having an air filter would cut down on the "coolness" of his Z. Other than that it looks like a clean install.
agreed, shit, the vg30dett, though a good engine, can not compair with the 26, i dont see a VG able to handle 600+hp on stock internals...and for less money? LOL shit, I had a 300zx TT with 337whp, and it took me almost 7K to do that, a skyline can hit that or more just on a good tune...

I have a 2001 Nissan 200SX (S15), it's just a stock turbocharged 2.0L :)

VG30's are okay but not the most reliable engine. But why have a vg30 when you can have an RB26DETT. it's an easy choice.

Thats not entirely true...The Z31 (84-89 300ZX) VG30E(T), non DOHC (single turbo for turbo models) could take 500+hp on the internals.
