@mlebagley I like this at Christmas time because I load it all up with Christmas music! It's a great way to showcase all types of Christmas music from instrumental to vocals and I never have to get up to change anything! I never hear the same song twice during the day either! Be sure to check my video with a traditional library unit. I'll be restoring another soon complete with iron leg stand, Seeburg HFA1-L6 Hi-Fi amp & Jensen Hi-Fi speaker system that I'll put up for sale.

Never seen the "hairpin" base..Yea..I saw the video of your other one..very cool as well..Oh man..I remember GRANTS store growing up!! I think they did play elevator music so it could have been a 200LU1!!!
Wow..I have never seen one of these! Like you said they are rare for sure! That's a KEEPER for sure!!! I just found my friend a regular 200Lu1 but those are cool as well!he's been wanting one so bad eber since he saw one :-)
@pinballdan If you check my other videos you'll see I have a 200LU1 listed as well. I've added some short legs to give it a "coffee table" 50's look. I have 2 others I'll be restoring shortly and will put up on eBay. One will be complete with an original "hairpin" steel base, HFA1-L6 Seeburg amp, Hi-Fi Jensen speaker system and newer Pickering cartridge!
Hi. I am a member of the Canadian Antique Phonograph Society. Our newsletters are available online for a minimal fee for non-members. Our most recent newsletter (July - Aug 2011) has a 6 page article on the Seeburg Background Music System.
Something I have never seen before. What size speakers are in it? Are they coax? Does it have external speaker jacks on the rear? Thanks for this... your videos are awesome!
This is a very cool 1953 innovation!! Seeburg adapted their jukebox technology to a home playing system. It sounds very clean, and open from bottom to top of frequency spectrum(or at least what I have heard from computer speakers). Thank you for posting!!...Friends, Lloyd.
I can tell that it has a powerful, and clean sound even through the computer speakers!! I was always amazed by Seeburg jukeboxes for both their styling and full sound...Friends, Lloyd.
Glad you like it! It was a very lucky find for me. You can't really appreciate it until you see it in person and hear just how really nice this sounds. It's not stereo but it sure sounds Heavenly! Thanx!
Wow, just the kind of sound I'd expect from a Seeburg, full, deep and rich even on my crappy speakers! You do have a beautiful piece Sir and the first library unit I've seen on Youtube. I certainly wouldn't object to more videos of it...
@Mrphatbastard1 Thank you! Seeburgs DO rock!! The greatest thing about this unit is that you can load 100 of your favorite records and enjoy them without ever having to get off your butt and change or adjust anything. I might at some time put up another video of this unit playing 3 or 4 records in succession. It DOES sound wonderful!! Check out my other video of the 200LU1 library unit - most often found over the years in department stores, grocery stores, restaurants and offices.
Excellent example of this model. I remember seeing the library unit only in restaurants in the 60's and 70's that didn't have a regular jukebox. They used the amp in an existing music system. I've always wanted one of the libary units and maybe someday I'll have one. My dream jukebox would be the M100A for 78s.
@AstroSonic1967 Actually you would have been more apt to see the 200LU1 library and not the console model. Check another of my videos with that model and see what I'm talking about. The 200LU1 had provisions for a paging system to be built in with an aux microphone to make announcements. These were often found in GRANTS department stores and loaded with Seeburg 45 RPM EP records playing elevator type music.
I cry every-time I watch these vids.

this is a neat player! It would be fun to fill this up with tops records, and then have it play all 100 of them both sides. great record player.
