Sure, they get picked on by SOME people, but nowhere near as much as some make it out to be. You know who gets picked on the most, out of anyone? Christians. I should know, I was there, and we still get persecuted for it to this very day. In all honestly, we get persecuted 100x worse, and especially BY gays & gay rights activists, because they think we hate them, and we don't, but they sure hate us an awful lot. We don't HAVE TO accept your actions, and vice versa. It's a 2-way street.
My son is gay, & I love him so much. I knew as soon as they put him in my arms. As he was growing up, I always told him & his older brother that I didn't care what their sexual preference was, I would love them no matter what. He chose to wait until he was almost 18 before he told me. It didn't change anything. I do worry about him being hurt by some jerk who thinks gay is 'catching' (he has been disabled since birth). He is my son & I love him no matter what.

Iam lesbian and Kittie is like my favorite band EVER you guys inspire me everyday. My parents have threatened to disown me if they ever found out for sure that I was gay and thats been really hard for me, but thanks to kittie and their music I was able to get through alot of instinces where the thought of suicide had come up. While I totally support the GLBT community (one of my closest friends is a lesbian) I think the most important issue teens are dealing with todayvthat needs to be addressed is the body dismorphic disorder.Having dealt with it all of my life it starts in the youth and next thing you know it blows up causing self loathing and suicide attempts (not to mention eating disorders).But Mercedes is right no matter what it gets better.
What I feel is important is to drop the labels. As she says: "no matter what your gender and sexual preference are". I'm heterosexual, and honestly i couldn't care less about the sexual preferences of people around me, as long as they respect my own. Whoever you fancy is fine, as long as it's consensual. As for gender -the label's only useful because it's easier to talk about someone as "him/her" than "them".

When I first heard Funeral For Yesterday on a show called "Strictly Global" , I was hooked for life. I prefer the 2 most recent albums the most but I still love "Brackish" They rock!! I started listening to Kittie at 12, came out of the closet at 16, and at 22 I can definitely say IT GETS BETTER! My older brother took his life 5 years ago. He was partially out of the closet bisexual, always struggling with relationships, and ended up getting involved with heavy drug abuse as his way of coping with our father's death.
He was only 18.

I'm glad I look up to Kittie because you guys are so awesome! Kittie is what helped me through all the ups and downs that occured in my teens (and even today)---my parents divorced, came out of the bi-sexual closet and got made fun of that first week, Dad was put on trial for murder charges, and all the crap that comes from being a teenager. So it makes me happy that you've come out and reached out to the gay youth who might be going through a rough time.

As a semi Gothic MTF 3 (months in) who supports LGBT rights, Kittie got me through some hard times.They literally kept me alive in my darkest hour!!! When I first heard Funeral For Yesterday on a show called "Strictly Global" , I was hooked for life. I prefer the 2 most recent albums the most but I still love "Brackish" They rock!! As a lesbian young adult in the metal and goth scene, I appreciate this message all the more from my favourite band. I started listening to Kittie at 12, came out of the closet at 16, and at 22 I can definitely say IT GETS BETTER! I play in an all-lesbian industrial nu-metal band and can only hope to be such an inspiration to the community someday :-)

My older brother took his life 5 years ago. He was partially out of the closet bisexual, always struggling with relationships, and ended up getting involved with heavy drug abuse as his way of coping with our father's death.
He was only 18.
Thank you for noticing these teens, & sending the message to those who still struggle, to never give up on life.

I'm glad I look up to Kittie because you guys are so awesome! Kittie is what helped me through all the ups and downs that occured in my teens (and even today)---my parents divorced, came out of the bi-sexual closet and got made fun of that first week, Dad was put on trial for murder charges, and all the crap that comes from being a teenager. So it makes me happy that you've come out and reached out to the gay youth who might be going through a rough time.

Mercedes: You and the rest of Kittie are such an inspiration to not only me, but everyone around the world that's gay/lesbian.
I have so many gay and lesbian friends (both local and worldwide) and I'm definitely gonna show them this video. Some of them are strong and fight (mentally, verbally, and sometimes physically) for their rights and the others are too afraid to say who they really are. Some of them are couples with children (either adopted or sperm was donated).
