The court decision means that corporations and companies can quite literally buy elections (not to say that they were not before). Your vote will either be heavily influenced by corporate interest or not matter at all. As if the transfer of wealth wasn't bad enough the standard of living will drop for everyone while the ultra wealthy influential and plain old powerful gain even more .

If this were ancient Athens a revolution would have been launched long ago. When you are directly engaged with the legislative process, as the citizens of Athens were, you realize pretty damn quick how high the stakes can be. Modern voters don't have that sense of immediacy - with few exceptions we are only involved, an even then only a fraction of us, in politics once every four years or so. If democracy is to survive it has to be made more direct and participation has to be ongoing.
