People this ending could of made sense. I remember Kyle saying in the first movie that he came from an alternate future or one possible future. My point is that John can still exist in this happy ending and in the torn up future because they are two different Johns from two different timelines.
didnt like this ending im happy they didnt put it, time its continue, if there is no judgement day there is no john connor, so he would cease to exist, so this ending doesnt make sense.
Some people said this ending suck because of Sarah Connor's face, doesn't like what peoples wearing in scene and time paradox and Micheal jackson's age, but i think this ending is true ending for Terminator.
Because give me hope you can change your destiny if you work hard and i don't believe they made shit like T3,T4
To me T3 and T4 is nothing more one of multiverse.
I like this ending much better. It follows the the rules of time travel. With the lab destroyed, the prototype arm, the chip and the terminator there is no way skynet could exist. I wish they'd used it, if they had the terrible third and fourth movies wouldn't have been made.
@York22 Heh, yeah, I love how they brought up this exact point in 3, and his response was "Nope, you just put it off" "...put it off? -.-" "Did I stutter?"
Hey Everybody! I have just released my new album 'Unhinged' which is greatly inspired by Brad Fiedel's soundtrack work in the Terminator series. You can stream or download the full album for free on my youtube channel!
I'm glad for almost every cut in this movie. But I'm on the opinion, that a director should NEVER but NEVER waste time and effort on shooting scenes without 100%-ly knowing: it will actually BE in the movie. I HATE IT, when deleted full scenes are left out from a movie!
Its stated that terminators cant kill themselves, but what would happen to them if they complete or fail their missions? just stay in a 'waiting' mode till their power source deplete?
John Connor: Are you ever afraid? The Terminator: No. John Connor: Not even of dying? The Terminator: No. John Connor: You don't feel any emotion about it one way or another? The Terminator: No. I have to stay functional until my mission is complete. Then it doesn't matter. John Connor: Yeah. I have to stay functional too. I'm "too important".
@Anthonyve2 Yeah, I think you're right, because there is always a chance that someone find it and reprogram it. So selfdestruction is a just wasting of resources.
If it's 2029 in this scene, that means Kyle Reese is around somewhere. Maybe not as a battle hardened soldier but definitely alive. He'd be the same age as he was in the first Terminator film.
It'd be kind of awkward if Sarah and John met him - He's John's father and there's no Judgement Day or time travel and Sarah is way too old to fall in love with him again. Hmm.. That would be interesting if an alternate ending included his fate without Judgement Day.
@MerolaC Perhaps but Reese would look at the two like they're lunatics if they ever told him why they recognized him since this version of him never went back in time to fall in love with Sarah.
That would be pretty bittersweet - John finally meets his father but can't say a word to him and Sarah finally gets to see him again even if it's not her Reese, she still would probably love him but she also couldn't say a word to him.
If they would've seleceted this one instead of the other one..... it would've sealed the Terminator saga, and the weak sequels would've never been made.

How can John Connor become a senator, when her mother blew up couple of buildings and was in a mental institution, plus a wanted criminal. Youd think she would be in jail and the scandal would have kept John from ever gaining political powers.
this endings a hell of a lot better than terminator salvation... if only they went full circle having john send back Kyle back in time its almost as if the writers forgot that had Kyle not been sent back John Conner would never exist.

ok btw it is i think the original ending and the road one is just so t3 could come out. James c. havent been working on t3 so i wonder why is he taking those crapcomments and the true guy[cant remember name] is going off easy making more shit. T3 and the rest other than original two are just cash-diggers that give bad rep to wrong people
Actually, Cameron WAS working on making a third movie (after T2-3D) but, he loosed the rights for the movie. Then, the project was scrapped and after years, an idiot made money out of it.
I like to think that Terminator movies ended here.
T1: "Fear The Future" because we saw that our carelessness had led to the near extinction of man.
T2: "No Fate But What We Make" because they changed the future and saved mankind. The future is what we make it.
T3: "The Future Is Set In Stone" because the Terminator from this movie who said "Oh, we can totally change the future by killing that dude" in the last one goes "JK, Judgment Day is still coming" Somebody obviously missed the point.
@SpartanSniper3 The Terminator in T2 or T3 never said something like that.
He knew Judgement day was inevitable, but he only helped them destory Cyberdyne because John ordered him to, after all, his missions were to protect and obey John.
@themaniacboy but if he knew Judgment Day was inevitable then why did he kill himself to erase all traces of future tech? He killed himself to prevent Judgment Day from happening instead of protecting John from something he thought was inevitable.
@themaniacboy But he put himself into the smelting pit for the whole reason that destroying future tech will prevent Judgment Day. And if he had to obey John over saving humanity, why did he disobey him and kill himself anyway?
@SpartanSniper3 No, he didn't do terminate himself for that reason.
He terminated himself because he had no purpose anymore.
His mission was to protect John, not obey John, it's just that John reprogrammed him and his mission was to protect John.
I hope you understand now.
But James Cameron's vision was ended in Terminator 2, after all he argued about the other ending but he had to agree because it was the producer he was argueing with.
OK IM SICK OF PEOPLE BITCHING OUT T3 THEY NEEDED 2 MAKE THT MOVIE SURE IT WAS MISSING CERTION CHARACTERS BUT WE NEED T3 THINK ABOUT THIS IF THE WAR NEVER HAPPEND THEN KYLE REESE NEVER WOULD HAVE BEEN SENT BACK IN TIME TO HAVE SEX WITH SARA CONER CAUSING A TIME ALTERATION WERE SHE WOULD HAVE LEAD A DIFFERENT LIFE PLUS REALLY THEY BLEW UP EVERYTHING? IT WAS ONE FLOW OF A BUILDING BACK UP DISKS ANYONE?
@QAndJMovies2 DUDE IM WITH YOU ON THIS, BUT ORIGINALLY NO ONE KNEW ABOUT THE WAR. SO JOHN SENT REESE TO PROTECT HIS MOTHER, THEN LATER SHWARZENEGGER TO PROTECT HIS YOUNGER SELF. THESE EVENTS HAD WARNED THEM AND TO PREPARE FOR THE WAR. SO THEY BLEW UP CYBERDYNE, HOPING TO STOP THE WAR. THIS, IN TURN, CAUSED ALTERNATE EVENTS EXPLAINED IN T3. SP YEAH DUDE IM ON YOUR SIDE WITH THIS BUT WHAT I JUST EXPLAINED, OTHER PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW CUZ THEY DONT PAY ATTENTION LOL
@MerolaC thing is, if there's wasn't a war, then why did Reese ever need to come back and do it with Sarah Connor and make John? Yet, John Still exists. It doesn't make sense!
@vol009S I disagree, T4 sucks if you compare it to this movie, but T4 is a totally new movie and this will show the future war that we saw in scenes of T1 and T2
Actually, despite the fact Terminator 2 was a great movie it was an unnecessary sequel because in Terminator 1 Resse says that the rebels had already won the battle and that the terminators only chance to revert that was by sending a terminator back in time in the last minute to kill Sarah, but since he failed to do so, then the future didnt change and humans won, thus it was impossible for Skynet to send a new terminator for the sequel.
Personally, i like T3 and salvation, their not as good as the first too, those are classics, but i tought they where pretty damn good too, with great action and everything. My only beef with T3 his Nick Stall, nothing against the guy, but he was whey too puny to play John Conner at that age, thats why Christian Bale rocked, because he can kick freaking ass.
Lol what? Judgment day is inevitable. They sent no more machines back to kill people? The last terminator's death means nothing., it died and it never changed the future.
@MrZeroCide The "inevitable" crap was just a reason to explain how the hell a sequel could make sense. It still made no sense. The blew up all chances of of Skynet becoming self-aware by destroying most of it. yeah it was a paradox but I can let this slip. They changed the future by making sure it's healthy future with no threats to mankind. All this got thrown out when Terminator 3 came out.
@Ihavealife100 You don't think they'd keep the data on technology like that all in one place do you? I'm sure they never even told Miles Dyson where all the info was kept.
@translucentorb They only had the data from one terminator and they destroyed all the chips and Dyson was about to create the thing that made them work. Without him they couldn't of made Skynet. The Terminator himself said that if you remove him then you stop Judgement Day. He had Skynet's history in his memory.
@Ihavealife100 Right, but they had about ten years to study the technology from the first T-800, remember this was a defense project, the US government undoubtedly had all the information required to continue development of skynet in other locations. Cyberdyne was no doubt one of many civilian contractors working on skynet. Also, each temporal incursion reset the timeline and the altered the future outcome. It is also likely that skynet was under development even before 1984.
@translucentorb You'd think that the Terminator hinself would know skynet's history. Terminator 2 was meant to be the ending make stuff up but it was always meant to end here. Terminator 3 was just a cash-in.
@Ihavealife100 If it was meant to be the end, then why did James Cameron Omit this scene? There was implication that they had changed the future, but never confirmation. As for the T-800 in T2 not knowing about it makes sense since every time the future manipulated the past it changed the future, so as soon as T-800 came back in time, his knowledge of where he came from and its subsequent history would be wrong automatically.
@translucentorb But James Cameron never did Terminator 3. He left it alone for a while. He was tempted but this should have always been the end. It was just a way to wrap up the series before it got old.
@Ihavealife100 I know James Cameron wasn't involved in T3. But he obviously left the door open for it for a reason, If he wanted to end it he would have included this scene, but he intentially lef it out, and behind intention lays reason.
Okay this ending was too Sci-Fi-ish, mayne. ORiginal theater and video versions still rules... cuz opened ended stories always allow a person to use their imagination for their own alternate ending; or a damn sequel.
And James Cameron can cut the crap about how the other Terminator movies weren't supposed to be made cuz of this alternate ending... FUK U and your overrated movies, punk!
sure if they prevented judgement day kyle reese would never have been sent back and thus there would be no john connor, this time travel stuff is confusing
I don't even know why T3 would ever exist....it just repeats T2 over again except this time, they send a terminator similar to T-800 but T-850 to the past to protect the grown up Connor, and they send another terminator similar to the one in T2 but this time more advanced. They could've at least came up with an original storyline. But T-X is surprisingly sexy. :D

I don't know how most people can say that Terminator 3 was just a cash-in.
No it wasn't, people were yelling for a sequel.
Arnold Schwarzenegger said it himself, they kept asking him when he's gonna do another Terminator.
And then it was finally released, it wasn't bad, but it also wasn't the sequel we've really hoped for.
Terminator 4 was good, but i really hoped on the future war we saw, but, that's still another 10 years away.
So i am hoping for Terminator 5 to show that war.
themaniacboy 10 months ago
ok btw it is i think the original ending and the road one is just so t3 could come out. James c. havent been working on t3 so i wonder why is he taking those crapcomments and the true guy[cant remember name] is going off easy making more shit. T3 and the rest other than original two are just cash-diggers that give bad rep to wrong people
killingspreedoom 10 months ago
@killingspreedoom I think the guy you mean is Jonathan Mostow.
Actually, Cameron WAS working on making a third movie (after T2-3D) but, he loosed the rights for the movie. Then, the project was scrapped and after years, an idiot made money out of it.
I agree.

well this ending just throws everything into question!
cunt3d 1 year ago
I like to think that Terminator movies ended here.
T1: "Fear The Future" because we saw that our carelessness had led to the near extinction of man.
T2: "No Fate But What We Make" because they changed the future and saved mankind. The future is what we make it.
T3: "The Future Is Set In Stone" because the Terminator from this movie who said "Oh, we can totally change the future by killing that dude" in the last one goes "JK, Judgment Day is still coming" Somebody obviously missed the point.
SpartanSniper3 1 year ago
@SpartanSniper3 The Terminator in T2 or T3 never said something like that.
He knew Judgement day was inevitable, but he only helped them destory Cyberdyne because John ordered him to, after all, his missions were to protect and obey John.
themaniacboy 10 months ago
@themaniacboy but if he knew Judgment Day was inevitable then why did he kill himself to erase all traces of future tech? He killed himself to prevent Judgment Day from happening instead of protecting John from something he thought was inevitable.
SpartanSniper3 10 months ago
@themaniacboy But he put himself into the smelting pit for the whole reason that destroying future tech will prevent Judgment Day. And if he had to obey John over saving humanity, why did he disobey him and kill himself anyway?
SpartanSniper3 9 months ago
@SpartanSniper3 No, he didn't do terminate himself for that reason.
He terminated himself because he had no purpose anymore.
His mission was to protect John, not obey John, it's just that John reprogrammed him and his mission was to protect John.
I hope you understand now.
But James Cameron's vision was ended in Terminator 2, after all he argued about the other ending but he had to agree because it was the producer he was argueing with.
themaniacboy 9 months ago

@DrOmega That's your opinion. I like this ending a lot.
In fact, i think is better than T3 and T4 together.
MerolaC 1 year ago 15
@MerolaC thing is, if there's wasn't a war, then why did Reese ever need to come back and do it with Sarah Connor and make John? Yet, John Still exists. It doesn't make sense!
TheSpartanondrugs 7 months ago
@TheSpartanondrugs Time loop, whatever happened in the past, stays there, unchanged. They rewrote the future. But the events in the past changed.
MerolaC 7 months ago
@MerolaC I guess. Still, seems like a kind of stupid ending. Just my opinion.

No. T3 and T4 SUCKS.
vol009S 10 months ago
@vol009S I disagree, T4 sucks if you compare it to this movie, but T4 is a totally new movie and this will show the future war that we saw in scenes of T1 and T2
themaniacboy 10 months ago
Actually, despite the fact Terminator 2 was a great movie it was an unnecessary sequel because in Terminator 1 Resse says that the rebels had already won the battle and that the terminators only chance to revert that was by sending a terminator back in time in the last minute to kill Sarah, but since he failed to do so, then the future didnt change and humans won, thus it was impossible for Skynet to send a new terminator for the sequel.
superrcain 1 year ago
@superrcain or that skynet send two terminators at the same time one to kill sarah while the other to kill john in case the first one fail.
Methyll 1 year ago
I dont think so, in the first movie Kyle clearly mentions that they barely had time to send one to try fixing things.
superrcain 1 year ago
@superrcain Well actually, i think you should watch them again.
themaniacboy 10 months ago
Im talking about the first movie, its never mentioned Skynet sent 2 terminators, just one, so what happens after that movie shouldnt count.
superrcain 10 months ago
@superrcain Reese didn't know what REALLY happened AFTER he went through. So, T2 is valid.
MerolaC 10 months ago
Thats a cheap excuse, he would have said so to Sarah when asked and he didnt so its assumed he knew very well it was only one terminator.
superrcain 10 months ago
Holy crap I wished the future Washington D.C. looked like that.
BTW Sarah Connor Michael Jackson turned 40 and 10 years later he died unfortunately. At least robots aren't attacking us.
09tranm 1 year ago
Haha, MJ just turned 40.
If they went with this endind there would be no Terminator 3.

Actionhero26 1 year ago
wow, i hate this version.
Blue450Rider 1 year ago
hhhhhhhhhoooooly hell. Sooo glad they didn't go with that.
flemchuck 1 year ago
Lol what? Judgment day is inevitable. They sent no more machines back to kill people? The last terminator's death means nothing., it died and it never changed the future.
MrZeroCide 1 year ago
@MrZeroCide The "inevitable" crap was just a reason to explain how the hell a sequel could make sense. It still made no sense. The blew up all chances of of Skynet becoming self-aware by destroying most of it. yeah it was a paradox but I can let this slip. They changed the future by making sure it's healthy future with no threats to mankind. All this got thrown out when Terminator 3 came out.
Ihavealife100 1 year ago
@Ihavealife100 You don't think they'd keep the data on technology like that all in one place do you? I'm sure they never even told Miles Dyson where all the info was kept.
translucentorb 1 year ago
@translucentorb They only had the data from one terminator and they destroyed all the chips and Dyson was about to create the thing that made them work. Without him they couldn't of made Skynet. The Terminator himself said that if you remove him then you stop Judgement Day. He had Skynet's history in his memory.
Ihavealife100 1 year ago
@Ihavealife100 Right, but they had about ten years to study the technology from the first T-800, remember this was a defense project, the US government undoubtedly had all the information required to continue development of skynet in other locations. Cyberdyne was no doubt one of many civilian contractors working on skynet. Also, each temporal incursion reset the timeline and the altered the future outcome. It is also likely that skynet was under development even before 1984.
translucentorb 1 year ago
@translucentorb You'd think that the Terminator hinself would know skynet's history. Terminator 2 was meant to be the ending make stuff up but it was always meant to end here. Terminator 3 was just a cash-in.
Ihavealife100 1 year ago
@Ihavealife100 If it was meant to be the end, then why did James Cameron Omit this scene? There was implication that they had changed the future, but never confirmation. As for the T-800 in T2 not knowing about it makes sense since every time the future manipulated the past it changed the future, so as soon as T-800 came back in time, his knowledge of where he came from and its subsequent history would be wrong automatically.
translucentorb 1 year ago
@translucentorb But James Cameron never did Terminator 3. He left it alone for a while. He was tempted but this should have always been the end. It was just a way to wrap up the series before it got old.
Ihavealife100 1 year ago
@Ihavealife100 I know James Cameron wasn't involved in T3. But he obviously left the door open for it for a reason, If he wanted to end it he would have included this scene, but he intentially lef it out, and behind intention lays reason.
translucentorb 1 year ago
@translucentorb Nope. He left the "door open" because he lost the franchise. And this makes me REALLY SAD :(
MerolaC 1 year ago
@translucentorb Cameron meant Terminator 2 to be the ending, no future war to occur.
nocliper101 1 year ago
@translucentorb He DID want it to end, but the test audiences like the other ending much more.

"GET TO THE CHOPPAH!!! Ahaaaaagghhgh!"
FUK U and your overrated movies, punk!

eoghangeoghegan 1 year ago
I don't even know why T3 would ever exist....it just repeats T2 over again except this time, they send a terminator similar to T-800 but T-850 to the past to protect the grown up Connor, and they send another terminator similar to the one in T2 but this time more advanced. They could've at least came up with an original storyline. But T-X is surprisingly sexy. :D
