  • About June and "Love For Sale," EVERYONE recorded "Love For Sale," including Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett and dozens of others. A song by Cole Porter written for a Broadway show it never ended ANYONE'S career. I don't think June ever recorded it commercially.

  • 2:08 -- vintage June Christy!

  • From what I have heard June suffered from alcohol abuse. Such a pity. She was and still is my favourite canary.

I miss here very much..so over looked and under appreciated.

  • whos the guy on piano?

  • @willzyx12 The pianist is Ernie Filice.

  • What a lovely lady & gifted singer June was. I never get enough of hearing her sing. Quite a talent, I must say! And THANKS for posting this delightful gem for us to enjoy! :)

  • charliedontsurf70 I do not believe you and I know you are just spreading rumors.

  • June was such a beautiful and talented singer. Always a joy to listen to. Thanx for posting. 3 thumbs up !!!

  • How cool is this women!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for posting. June was one of a kind. A wonderful, wonderful singer, and her recordings are pure joy.

  • maronna mia. io la adoro.

  • Simply wonderful. Thanks.

  • I used to work with her husband, Tenor player Bob Cooper. He said she would copy his solos when he was practicing. Best Jazz singer, ever.

  • Why was she not more appreciated at the time? For me, she's as good as any great female singer, plus she looks the part

  • she recorded a song called"love for sale"about a prostitute and it ended her career.funny, today nobody would care.times change.

  • WHAT??? Where in the world did you get THAT piece of misinformation?

  • @charliedontsurf70 How so?

  • At this point, she, Chris Connor and Doris Day resembled each other physically greatly and all three admired each other's talents (and all recorded "The Night We Called It A Day"). Note that June is musically faultless, a true jazz singer, perfectly poised and graceful at the microphone and impeccably gowned and groomed. In concert she could hush a large, packed venue with the first notes of "Midnight Sun." She was just charismatic, something that can't be learned or created.
