These adjectives mean marked by a narrow, often tiresome focus on or display of learning and especially its trivial aspects: a pedantic writing style; an academic insistence on precision; a bookish vocabulary; donnish refinement of speech; scholastic and excessively subtle reasoning.
Actually, the only people I bash for poor grammar are the Boren-loving fools who open up the dialogue by sending me their insults. When they do so with poor use of the English language, I'm going to ridicule them. My point is always that those who are dumb enough to fall for Boren's game are also semi-literate.
You are the "strange" one. Assuming that you have some kind of educational certificate, the fact that people like you call me "strange" because I defend the proper use of the English language is just another piece of evidence that we are in a serious state of cultural decline. By the way, I only ridicule people for bad grammar when they send me hostile posts. Those who want to insult me had damn well use good English. When they butcher the language, I'll take the opportunity to ridicule them.
OLeslieQ, you have sent me numerous hostile messages at my various youtube websites. You are probably the same slimeball, an OU "administrator," who has been pestering me this way for two years. Of course, you are an anonymous coward. You must be terribly frustrated, because your garbage does not obstruct me in any way. Go bang your head against the wall, jerk.
Statute: [stach-oot, -oot] Law. a. an enactment made by a legislature and expressed in a formal document.
b. the document in which such an enactment is expressed.
Statue: [stach-oo] noun a three-dimensional work of art, as a representational or abstract form, carved in stone or wood, molded in a plastic material, cast in bronze, or the like.
I have been trying to find a reason as to why a person like you would spend so much time (between countless videos, articles, facebook pictures, and more) belittling an institute of higher education from which you once attended. I have decided that the only realistic answer to such an inquiry is that you are merely jealous of the tremendous progress toward overall prestige & success that the University of Oklahoma has achieved with president David L. Boren since you left. You are simply jealous.
"I have been trying to find a reason as to why a person like you would" approve of demon-worship on the OU campus. Additionally, "you are simply jeolous" because you can't write with good grammar. This is a common trait among all you semi-literate Boren-lovers. You accuse me of "belittling" OU, "from which you once attended." The word FROM does not belong in that sentence, moron. Maybe you tortured that sentence because you are purple with rage because I denounce "big boss" Boren.
"You are simply jealous." is correctly spelled. YOU are the one who can't write with good grammar. Also, the word FROM does belong in that sentence; it is grammatically correct moron. Look it up.
You are digging yourself into a deeper hole. You did not understand my reply. A literate person could see that I did not accuse you of a grammatical error with your ridiculous claim about my being jeolous. This is the correct way to write the other phrase: "...from which you were graduated." Go back to grade school. As for Boren, he was being outed as queer by the gay press in the 90s. He has a long history of sexually harassing male staff members and paying high salaries to goofy male bimbos.
The Sphinx is of African origins, Greeks conquered Egypt(Kemet) in 332BC and though respectful of culture, changed many things, misinterpreted many things too. Origins have nothing to do with demons. Just copied stuff, just like Washington monument, copied the obelisk but it represented a Penis in Egypt.they didn't know what they were imitating.
I don't dispute your claim that the Greeks stole the idea from the Egyptians, but your statement that "origins have nothing to do with demons" is nonsensical. The facts are that (1) Sooner magazine confirms that the OU sphinx is Greek in origin but didn't tell the whole story, and (2) in Greek mythology, there was only one sphinx, the demon of death. You seem to be interested in protecting David Boren, but your methods are a little more sophisticated that most of the Boren-loving meatheads.
True that this is probably the ugliest piece of "art" on campus but to say that it promotes demon worship is ignorant. In Greek mythology this demon was a monster slain by a hero (such as a dragon and a knight) and not a figure of worship. Read Oedipus Rex.
You are the ignorant one, joker. Why don't you listen to what I say and read the links in the associated text, instead of just trying to prove how smart you are? I never said that the Greeks worshipped the demon. I link to an article in Sooner magazine about the "sphinx." The article reports that an OU crowd was cheering when the sculpture arrived. I also link to an article in Encyclopedia Mythica which tells the Oedipus story, which you have misrepresented.
Michael, this Skull and Bones video is informative. It is strange that both Republicans (i.e., George W. Bush) and Democrats (i.e., John Kerry, David Boren) were part of that secret society. If it is really the case that the Sphinx is associated with Skull and Bones and that it refers to the demon of death, then it is a shame that David Boren ordered the statue to be placed there. BTW, has David Boren ever mentioned that he was a Christian? I'm just wondering.
I believe it is definite that the ugly OU sphinx is patterned after the ancient Greek demon of death. In the text box, click on my link to Encyclopedia Mythica. Sooner magazine confirms that the sphinx is Greek in origin, but doesn't tell the whole story. I have heard that Boren claims to be a Methodist, but he surely isn't serious about it.
Personally, I dont think that this statue would drive anyone to worship the devil. But I do agree with you.....the statue is the ugliest thing to be put on campus in a long time!
I was speaking in the colloquial. You obviously have issues with Boren. I attended OU from 92-96. I lived in Norman until 2006. OU is a better place than now than it was then. BTW, I speak 3 different languages. How many do you speak?
I don't like the word "issues." I have much documented EVIDENCE against Boren. He deserves to be fired. As for you, I suggest you study a 4th language: English. Your 5th sentence is awkward. You used the word THAN twice.
Mr. Smith, like most defenders of OU, you show great ignorance. You can't even write properly. Expressed in educated English, your first sentence would be: "You must be a nut." You forgot to put a question mark after your second sentence, moron. You must have been purple with rage when you wrote this trash.
Michael! Thanks for posting this and giving us the true origins of this terrible piece of garbage that is destroying our campus I wish you would do a video on boom cars as well. The other day, a boom car drove by and it was SO LOUD that not only did the panels on my car buzz, but my ears started to bleed. (That may have been related to something else, but I certainly had reduced hearing in my left ear for several hours).
I have a website devoted to the boom car menace. Do a google search with this phrase: cops smash boomcar equipment. The noise is probibited by Norman's noise control ordinance but enforcement is very weak. Boren is on the board of directors of Texas Instruments, which markets boom car equipment.
You and every student on campus. Oh, and you do know that every president since Woodrow Wilson has been a member of Skull and Bones, right? That's what the kid at the University of Florida was trying to ask John Kerry (another S&B member) about when he got tasered.
Thank you for your comment. I wasn't aware that every U.S. President since Wilson had been a Bonesman. I knew that Kerry was, along with the current miscreant in the White House and his father. If OU students agree with me about this ugly sculpture, I wish they'd speak up.
Michael Wright, you ought to release more of these videos. That's one way to get wide visibility. You need to comment on those OU athletes getting away with some of the lowest graduation rates and those Mickey Mouse degrees (i.e., "university studies").
I agree but there's only so much one man can do by himself. I don't even have a video camera. If you have a videocam and want to interview me, I'll talk about these things. In the meantime, click on MORE to the right of the screen and check out my links.
