I have been trying to find a reason as to why a person like you would spend so much time (between countless videos, articles, facebook pictures, and more) belittling an institute of higher education from which you once attended. I have decided that the only realistic answer to such an inquiry is that you are merely jealous of the tremendous progress toward overall prestige & success that the University of Oklahoma has achieved with president David L. A literate person could see that I did not accuse you of a grammatical error with your ridiculous claim about my being jeolous. This is the correct way to write the other phrase: "...from which you were graduated." Go back to grade school. As for Boren, he was being outed as queer by the gay press in the 90s. He has a long history of sexually harassing male staff members and paying high salaries to goofy male bimbos.

The Sphinx is of African origins, Greeks conquered Egypt(Kemet) in 332BC and though respectful of culture, changed many things, misinterpreted many things too. Origins have nothing to do with demons. Just copied stuff, just like Washington monument,copied the obelisk but it represented a Penis in Egypt.they didn't know what they were imitating.

I don't dispute your claim that the Greeks stole the idea from the Egyptians, but your statement that "origins have nothing to do with demons" is nonsensical. The facts are that (1) Sooner magazine confirms that the OU sphinx is Greek in origin but didn't tell the whole story, and (2) in Greek mythology, there was only one sphinx, the demon of death. You seem to be interested in protecting David Boren, but your methods are a little more sophisticated that most of the Boren-loving meatheads.

True that this is probably the ugliest piece of "art" on campus but to say that it promotes demon worship is ignorant. In Greek mythology this demon was a monster slain by a hero (such as a dragon and a knight) and not a figure of worship. Read Oedipus Rex.

I never said that the Greeks worshipped the demon. I link to an article in Sooner magazine about the "sphinx." The article reports that an OU crowd was cheering when the sculpture arrived. I also link to an article in Encyclopedia Mythica which tells the Oedipus story, which you have misrepresented.

Michael, this Skull and Bones video is informative. It is strange that both Republicans (i.e., George W. Bush) and Democrats (i.e., John Kerry, David Boren) were part of that secret society. If it is really the case that the Sphinx is associated with Skull and Bones and that it refers to the demon of death, then it is a shame that David Boren ordered the statue to be placed there. BTW, has David Boren ever mentioned that he was a Christian? I'm just wondering.

I believe it is definite that the ugly OU sphinx is patterned after the ancient Greek demon of death. In the text box, click on my link to Encyclopedia Mythica. Sooner magazine confirms that the sphinx is Greek in origin, but doesn't tell the whole story. I have heard that Boren claims to be a Methodist, but he surely isn't serious about it.

I was speaking in the colloquial. You obviously have issues with Boren. I attended OU from 92-96. I lived in Norman until 2006. OU is a better place than now than it was then. BTW, I speak 3 different languages. How many do you speak?

Michael! Thanks for posting this and giving us the true origins of this terrible piece of garbage that is destroying our campus I wish you would do a video on boom cars as well. The other day, a boom car drove by and it was SO LOUD that not only did the panels on my car buzz, but my ears started to bleed. (That may have been related to something else, but I certainly had reduced hearing in my left ear for several hours).

I have a website devoted to the boom car menace. Do a google search with this phrase: cops smash boomcar equipment. The noise is probibited by Norman's noise control ordinance but enforcement is very weak. Boren is on the board of directors of Texas Instruments, which markets boom car equipment.

Michael Wright, you ought to release more of these videos. That's one way to get wide visibility. You need to comment on those OU athletes getting away with some of the lowest graduation rates and those Mickey Mouse degrees (i.e., "university studies").
