I played this for solo ensemble and i was so nervous my mouth was like the Sahara... i took the last note on the first movement up an octave...... but then some water rejuvinated the desert to which i destroyed the second movement and it was magical
btw you are doing the sticatto perfectly, but the quarter notes in the bourree part are supposed to be connected more. however at this speed i think i like it mostly stoccato anyways:)
Good job, I performed this same thing 30 years ago and of all the you tube performances, this is about the best I have found. My tempos were about the same as yours. if you go faster in the bouree then the low notes are hard to get out with good definition.
I am doing this piece for my college audition, and I am very impressed by your phrasing and ability to hit the high notes in Bouree with a dark full and forte sound.
this is great. I'm doing this as well right now in university, and it's a great piece. I take the Bourree faster, to make a bigger contrast between the 2 movements. but I like your tempo as well.
Wonderful, I played this solo as well, and I am especially impressed with your higher notes. Be careful going from high notes to low notes, the transition wasn't the greatest, but it was very good. Just a little polishing needed there. Great job, and keep on playing amazing tuba!
That is a huge BBb tuba- is it the MW Fafner? Good job filling it up!
Only advice I would have on the performance is to sit down with a tuber, figure out where the notes resonate best, and try to place your slides as close to equal temperament as is possible. Tubas follow harmonics, not ET, bit you have to try to match ET to play well with the piano. The piano's tuning was not good, so that obviously doesn't help you play well in tune with it.
work on your articulation and breath timing, other wise sounded pretty good

I hate solos. I'm playing this one for our studio recital next week and I'm frickin' terrified.
There is a reason I play tuba and not trumpet...
:P

have more contrast between your forte and piano. I didn't hear any. Otherwise nice job technically

really good job! my one piece of advice would be to hold the high notes a bit longer than the low ones- they tend to echo around less.
