anyone who is saying Jordan wasn't trying is an idiot. Look at Michael's defense on his first basket vs the final basket, he stepped it up and forced Rogers to make a very difficult shot at the end, certainly did not "let him win".
Michael is known for being insanely competitive, of course he's not going to go all out all the time, but once he realized he might lose he stepped it up and still lost.
He wasn't trying. He just stood there and let him drive all the way to the hoop. He DID try to block his shot once he got there though, I will say that. But If MJ really wanted too, he could have gotten in that guys grill and easily kept him out of the lane.

He obviously was trying to let him get close to the hoop and then block the shot. If he was trying 100%, he would have had his arms spread from the start and not let the dude get so close to the basket in the first place.

If MJ goes to basket, he scores EVERY time. But he just takes jumpers because it makes it more amusing. He lets the camper shoot most of the time without much resistance. On game point he tries a little harder, but in this case John sneaked one in on him and Jordan "accidentally" lost.
