@waldo2384 True but the also they play the bass pedals they usually double up the left hand and and bass pedals especially cats Like Jimmy Smith and Joey Defrancesco etc.
@manns5175 Wrong. Jazz organists tap the bass pedals for a percussive effect while carrying the bass line in the LH. They rarely double pedals extensively with LH except on ballads.
Man these videos are so full of bad info. The two brown drawbars are NOT the same as the two of a manual drawbar set. The pedals are 16' and 8'. The manuals are 16' then 5 1/2' Plus the pitches are different. You can not duplicate the pedal tones on the manual, but the best bass sound is 888800000. Learn your stuff Dockery!
WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!!!! if you are going to play organ you need the bass pedals the best place for them is connected to the bloody instrument not in the storage are and they don't take ages to learn it took me a few hours. There videos are mainly rubbish you need an organ expert on there!
Plain ludacris... the bass pedals are something that should be learned. I don't really like to play them, only when I'm by myself. But you still need to learn them because you never know when you need them. Note that if you have a bass player, it's a stupid idea to play them, you will clash if you havea bass player than is good enough to get out of the box of plain notes.
@manns5175 Wrong. Percussive tapping is not identical to doubling. They are totally different techniques.

Wrong, Craig! Jazz organists play bass with LH, not pedals.

It's a crime to sit behind a Hammond and not be able to play pedals! Pull your pedals out of the closet and walk em' with the big dogs, pussy.

Sorry dude, but this is just B.S.
If you're gonna learn the organ, you should learn the bass pedals. And if you're a rookie
don't sweat it. You're feet will learn surprisingly fast. You're gonna love the sound of that deep bass, especially when you drop that B flat!
