  • hi. my congratulations for the video! pls what soundtrack - band/album ? thank you.

  • what i dont understand is why you cant jus use a tv

  • Which one of these should i get. I am looking for quailty build, gaming, video quality & screen quality. HP HDX18t: Q9000 2GHz Quad Core 4GB DDR3 1066MHz nVidia 9600M GT 512MB Blu Ray Optical Drive Asus G71GX: Core 2 Duo 2.53GHz 6GB DDR2 Ram nVidia GTX 260M DVD+RW Optical Drive Both are around the same price, the Asus $40 more, but gaming & screen quality are the main aspects
  • I have HP HDX16 notebook.

    1920X1080 Resolution.

512MB Dedicated Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT.

    Intel Core 2 Duo P7450.

    4GB DDR3.

64-Bit Windows Vista (Windows 7 Upgrade arriving in few days).

I must say this notebook is quite impressive with blu-ray and a HUGE resolution. Its equal to a television [Plasma] but the battery lacks longlife as it only lasts 2 hours on just webbrowsing and barely 20minutes while gaming.

  • hey im getting this laptop with the duo core 2.6 and the 9600mgt graphics card and 4gb of ram

will i be limited to play on low settings?? or can i step it up to medium?

i just want about 35 fps! thanks ;)

  • i have this and i run gta 4 on med high settings pretty smoothly. It does lag when there are more things in the enviorment to load like a lot of cops or explosions. But I get and average of 30 fps outside and 25 with rain cop and 40 inside. It is very good

  • 4gb ram

    1gb nvidia geforce130m(compared to one 9650m)

    640 hard disc

    2.66ghz dual core

why can't you use the settings at least on medium? hdx18 its a great notebook

  • this is nice lap top i have sime laptop nvidia 1000 gb viduo card wow big size

  • i have now a oooooooooooold pc it's a dell optiplex gx260 with p4 2.26 ghz 1 gb ram and a intel 845g integrated G 64mb.......so jumping to hp hdx 18 would be like from a donkey to a plane .loool :)

  • What are you talking about man, thats a straight up gangster PC :P

  • thanks man for the answer , i would go for the hp cuz it has a great design and it's the number 1 company in the world in computers (check wikipedia ) !! :]

  • hey i'm getting this laptop too , but my problem is that i'm confused between acer aspire 8930g and this one.......another question is can i play on high with low resolution like 800x600 !! thanks

  • They are both good systems, I'd buy based on price. Yes you will be able to play on 800x600, though you probably won't want to. You will be able to play the game at something better.

  • thank u very much. u replied so fast.i think u broke the speed of light record, thanks again.

  • sorry i asked a lot of questions, forgive me my friend for i sinned... kidding aside, pls don't suggest me to buy desktop because that isn't so stylish as having a beautiful laptop. thank u very much. i love to have hdx18, its monstrosity is gorgeous, i just wish hp continued the very much more monstrous yet gorgeous 20 inch hdx.

  • The HDX18 with the 130M graphics should be pretty solid. Very few computers can handle GTA IV at 1920x1080 and all highest. The game is just very demanding--it does not mean that the computer is not powerful enough. That said, the HDX18 is not an Alienware m17x or something extreme. Checkout Gateway's gaming notebooks maybe...

  • i thought that hdx18 and hdx16 are the most capable because of their 1gb graphics card option. with hdx 18 on its HIGHEST and MOST EXPENSIVE configuration, do u think it could play this game at highest setting without lags? very fluid?

  • Yes, but it's still not a gaming PC and GTA IV is very demanding. The newest HDX18s have GeForce GT 130M graphics which should do better than the 9600 GT that I tested with.

  • does it also work on the HP HDX X16-1200eo whom also has the GeForce GT 130M video card

  • the 130m is a nice improvement. You should get better performance than the 9600. It won't be amazing, but it should be very playable.

  • but do you nknow ny pc that get give the best performence i am going to buy a new computer XP

  • 'm planning to buy hdx18 to replace my dv5, and i'll be configuring it to have 1GB graphics card plus 4gb ram plus maybe 2.53 ghz core 2 duo processor, do u think that configuration will run this game in the HIGHEST setting without any lag? i mean very fluid? is their any HP laptop capable of playing this game at the highest setting without any lag?

  • I was playing at 1280x720. The company could not handle 1920x1080. At the time the HDX18 could not play GTA IV at Highest, but now you might be able to get close if you get the Nvidia GeForce GT 130M video card. The NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT can't do it.

  • i'm playing RA3 very well with medium settings, and it starts to be not fluid in high then it starts crawling in ultra high settings. i wonder if i could play this in medium settings.

  • what is the resolution of this game? is it hd? coz hdx18 is has hd reso.

i have hp dv5 with 2.53ghz, 4gb ram and 9600GT 512MB video card, do u think it can run this? is this setting of yours low? medium? or high?

  • How well does it look with those settings.

  • not great. it's OK at best, but dedicated gamers will be disappointed.

  • I looking at getting that laptop. Can you run the game with the settings any higher. What are your specs.

  • No, this was the max if you won't want slow downs.

HDX18 - 1001xx, Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 processor, 4GB RAM, NVIDIA 9600M GT 512MB graphics, wireless N, and dual 320GB hard drives. Vista Home Premium 32-bit. Blu-ray. HDTV tuner, and two remote controls, $1878 (after a $200 instant rebate).

  • Well I was actually looking at the HP HDx16 with Intel Core 2 Duo (2.53), 6gb Ram, and 9600gt 512mb. So should run the same probably. But it is runable.

  • Yes it's runnable, but not past 1280x720 in my experience

  • Ok thanks.

  • how much is this HP HDX 18 ?

  • $1878 after the $200 rebate

  • Comment removed

  • hmmm. audioswap only works in HQ mode?

  • btw, this was 1280x720, all settings on low
