If someone makes her life story you can see the resemblances between her & Bette Midler. Minnie was the best comedian though. She really wanted to be an actress .I suppose all of us true fans already know that.

I saw Minnie Pearl and other Opry types on my 10th birthday in 1977, during a roadshow that passed through Halifax, Nova Scotia. All I really remember is Miss Pearl... :)

What a woman! All of that "country gal gone to town to do a little tradin' an' flirtin'" act masked a really fine musician, with a powerful voice and comedic timing, who was a masterful business woman, who owned over 100 restaurants, and was a major player in real estate. She, and Liberace together- PRICELESS!

Was a well trained actress come from the high life and fit in with the poorest of persons who came to famous after she did. She never rubbed that riches in any of the singers face. She might of been the first rich person in country music as her family did have money and she married into wealth too. But she is an all around sweet person
