Sorry to hear about your car. I remember that day hell I remember that week. I was coming home from class heading back to Broad and Belvidere student apartments. That heat was intense never in my life had I felt such heat. I was unable to leave Broad and Belvidere with my car. The garage and the streets were blocked off. The messed up thing was before I went to class I found out I had food poisoning and needed to get my meds errrrrrrr.....couldn't miss class. The date was Friday March 26.

I remember this! I was standing outside of Open High School , visiting my girlfriend. the whole school came out to see the smoke fill the sky. it was nuts...
I was living in the Lord Chesterfield ( corner of Franklin & Shafer) apartments at the time of this. I woke up to sirens and my neighbor finally woke me up and told me to walk out to the balcony.
needless to say, i was pretty blown away by how big that fire was
amidst all the chaos, myself & my neighbors smoked bowls of chronic and watched Rams Hall burn to the ground in a few hours.
i remember this. i was coming out of spanish class, Hibbs and saw all this black smoke in the air. i lived at B&B and we had to wait outside for hours bc the power went out.
I need to clarify this video. I was currently in a video class taught by Patrick Powers. This video was shot by another student in the class whose name I cannot recall. He happened to have his camera the day of the fire. I asked for the use of the film and left it in the form in which the other student had shot and edited the clip. His thoughts were that if the fire moved in reverse then there'd be no loss of property...
it was caused by a cigarette in a dumpster...so no court will find the city, KBS builders, M&E or VCU responsible cuz you can't prove it...annnd you weren't displaced from your house so you don't get any money annnd it's called insurance...the end
I was there the day of the fire and it was the scariest thing I've ever seen. But let me get this right, you had to drop because your Jeep burned up? Are you sure you didn't just flunk out?
cuz is at that way can disapear the fire, and the built get to normal, also the fireworker trucks can be refilled with the water used. And everybody happy =)

I remember seeing your jeep after the fire (at least I think it was yours.)
Coulda sworn they said it was a cig tossed into a trash bin that caused the fire though.

Why does it seem that the smoke and fire are rolling into the building rather then outward into the sky ? Did they record this in reverse ?
Evilblueyes 4 years ago
that's HORRIBLE.

Where was your jeep parked?
I also find it funny how the art building had fire damage... yet according to VCU it was never on fire.

being on fire and suffering fire damage are two different things.

why is the film running backwards?
p458nvt 5 years ago
it seemed more surreal that way and if i could go back far enough in time my vehicle would still be unscathed by the destruction of the fire.

hahaha...so why the hell did you have to drop out of college because of this?
