  • how do you do CC then?

And how about making a video instead of emailing everybody?

  • @Rifalltoo I'm not sure what you mean by that? As for turning CC on, go to bottom corner of video on your right, turn "CC" on, select English. On other video, I also gave an instruction for others how to add captions "How To Add Closed Captions". Link: v=SG8ehSzsdBc

  • I prefer Closed captioning because the times when I want to practice my ASL I can turn off the captions and try to understand what you're signing!!! Then if I get lost, I can turn them back on again.

  • @seekgeo i love both open cc and close cc both

  • I like the open Captions because there more hidden and there's not a black box that surrounds the words.

  • Thx for the tip on multi-lingual cc! I just watched you "speak" Spanish and Mandarin!

  • Hey dogmusher, I plan on doing the video to explain how one of these days soon but let me email you with the info how to add. :-) -SG

  • if i post my video how i can add that C.C. on my video ?

  • I'm trying to figure out how to put CC on my clips, but Youtube says i need some type of software to use it. Do you know how to do it?

  • Hey, lemme email you :-)

  • Thanks for the info. :)

  • I am pissed off many youtube dont turn on cc what i want to watch like wind mill etc i tired to ask who post the video on youtube many times they dont do it .. I dont know why they refuse to add cc on video Its not fair hearing can hear what they said . thanks

  • Thanks so much! I was wondering how to put CC on my videos. I tried it out on a couple of my vids and am hopefully going to have all my videos with CC!

  • Geo, I love the CC...I too am learning ASL and like to first watch without captions, and then turn them on to see how well I understood. Having open captions always makes me want to look down instead of learning! Good Job!

  • I liked te CC better cause I can learn some signs =D

  • I like the CC because I am learning ASL and watching it without captions is better for me because I tend to focus on the captions. Now with CC I can turn them on if I really don't understand. I like to have the option!

  • Thanks, everybody! I will start using CC from now on. I like the idea for you all to have the option to turn it on or off. :-D

Thanks again for all the suport, Seekies!

    -SG

  • Geo, I like the CC! Also, knowing that there is finally a good program to create CC is nice. Makes me want to add CC to my videos. Maybe someday soon!? :)

  • I vote CC

  • I love CC! Because it give a choice off or on. It's which better for ASL watchers without crossing the captioning.

  • Hey Geo ... I like it with the Captions, and I never knew there was a CC off and on feature until you pointed it out,, thanks sweetie,, you ROCK

  • I think closed CC is a good idea - gives people a choice to use CC or not.

For me, I would love to watch you without the CC, see if I can understand as much as ASL....although I am sure I will, having watched your video clips a lot!! *grins*

    Caz xx

  • Wait, though. It is not like TV right? A person has to still type in all the words?

  • Hey, I wonder if you turned on cc ? I still type using other program to upload the text into youtube video. So now, people can have a choice to turn on or off rather than open-caption. :-)

  • Thank you, Geo. I just found it and turned it on. From what I understand, all people who want to make a video with CC, must still type it in? Very tedious. It makes me appreciate your doing it, for us. Thank you!

  • Thanks! That's correct, whoever make videos like me, they have the option to type captions or not. I captioned all my videos in past two years (open-caption) but now from now on, it will be closed-caption. :-)

  • To me it does not matter as long as I can understand it.

  • I like CC better. :)

  • Hi Geo, I have no experience signing (so I'm totally dependent on captions) I stumbled across your videos one day and have enjoyed all of them quite a bit (especially Hells kitchen :) The closed caption feature seems to work pretty well, and (who knows)maybe with this I will get ambitious enough to learn ASL. Until then I just want you to know I am a fan of your work. Sincerely Aquatania

  • I think it s neat to have a choice. Thanks for sharing that interesting info.

  • actually i prefer CC coz it's good on video.

and above from me, mattycchan is right one coz some signer who is new so can learn sign w/out cc on for practice.. good idea

  • I didn't even know about that feature. Nice. I think CC would be cool because it would help people who are learning ASL. :)

  • Hey, that's neat. It works well. I prefer closed captions because I'm still learning ASL, so being able to turn off the CC would allow me to practice my receptive skills.
