  • The people who are yelling "YEAAAA" and "WOOOOOOOO" are obviously drunk. We all do stupid shit when we're drunk.

  • I love how passionate he is with his music, even if it's a song I don't like he puts so much effort into almost all of his songs it eventually grows on me. Reznor was my inspiration to drop all of the drugs and learn to tap into my skills on my own without any "help". I don't regret any of the things I've done don't get me wrong, it was fun. But I know I can do it by myself and I thank Trent for helping me out indirectly with his fantastic music.

  • I hate people who yell during quiet songs.

  • @julifforve I totally agree. The man is pure genius :D

  • he's so perfect. everything he writes is so perfect.

  • FUCK the people who call themselves NIN fans and only Bitch around 'bout new NIN wave, if you really are into NIN (a Real Fan) you're gonna catch all of the evolving process and maturity from the beginning back at late 80's until now, experimenting, feel empathy Trent is a Genius, Bitch all you want, my answer to those fuckers : Don't listen to NIN then for all i am satisfied i will continue, i am the great destroyer, follow the Lights in the sky.

  • @sillyrabs I am absolutely agree with you, NIN rules!!!

  • One of the most beautiful songs..

  • NIN is fuckin AWESOME! My favorite song.

  • man, I hate people at concerts who can't just shut the hell up and listen to the quiet parts instead of screaming "YEAH!!!" and "WOOOOO!!!!"

  • who let the drummer play on the keyboard?

  • @smackie001 Ilian Rubin is a pianist aswell as a drummer.

  • who let the drummer on the keyboard?

  • Im a young musician who is inspiried by the genious harmony. Michael, your my LIVING LEGEND!!!!!!!

  • genious. just touches the heart.

  • love

  • A few days early I know, but Happy Birthday Trent.

  • all nin is great, and cannot be compared to itself. trent has always written with emotion consistently throughout the years and that is what makes everysong nin has ever done great at all times.

  • Sound came out great on the vid. :)

  • This song is so creative and unique, the emotion just makes me wana cry. No other person can convey such power, probably one of the most powerful songs ever (except Hurt)

  • reminds me of my mom...she was dying of cancer.....we all hung in there...we stayed w/her...right til the end....she wasnt alone.....thats what this music does to me...it pushes buttons

  • Ilan Rubin is amazing!

  • Why are there people talking and screaming over Trent? Do they not know how insulting and trashy it is to cheer during a song?

Concert Rule 1: Save the screaming for the intros, transitions and exits people.

The people screaming over Trent should be sterilized.

  • God...Robin is just too cool....this stuff is amazing, I saw them @ the olde' boston garden...the kids were so pissed off they ripped out the 1st 30 rows of seats that were bolted to the floor & made a huge pile of them....so they could mosh, larry moulton (sp?)...was the president of the BG then....& he was smart...the show went on...it was classic....piles & piles of chairs, kids goin nuts!...insane show, true story.

  • This seems like so long ago. I am happy to have been in that crowd. This song was amazing and done with such patience. Sighhhh....

  • one of my favorit Nin video ever !

  • I tatted my arm to this song... fuck it. I love it. NIN!!!!!

  • I was in the crowd, one of the best moments of my life.

  • fuck I didnt start listening to nin til a year ago, I live in austin I could have seen them damn

  • This is beautiful, feels so deep and sincere. Just like a shallow caress on the side of your face wiping off a tear and at the same time embracing you in its beauty, drifting you from sadness into this strange environment, empty space-related but full of this strange feeling of completion and harmony.

I can't express how much I love this song more than this, it's just wonderful.

  • I owe so much to Trent. We're probably even based on the amount of money I've put into cds and merchandise, but regardless if it wasn't for this music and his sincerity in his lyrics I don't know where I would be in my life. I would probably be worse off. Hmmm. . .

  • @Twitch13 considering the amount the record lable takes for anything before he went independant, probably not lol. but i agree

  • fuckin awesome

    amo esta cancion

  • This and Echoplex are probably my favorite songs on The Slip.

  • i love falling sleep listening to this song, so beautiful

  • This is beautiful.

  • What album is this from?

  • @ice1313tz The Slip, track 7

  • Jeff I miss you, the plans we had and the hopes we shared.I have my wrong in this and what I would give to go back and change the decisions I made.I try to justify the things I use to do. Time has a way you know to make it clear.I hope...I can't disappear and leave you.I carry you with me every step I take and every hardship that I face. I don't know exactly where to go from here. All I know is that I can't go back.I live through your sacrifice and I will always be right beside you.

  • thank you Trent, you're one of the biggest genius in the music of the last 30 years.

    thank you.

  • I think Nine Inch Nails's music since The Fragile is 10x better than everything before it. Don't get me wrong, The Downward Spiral, Broken, and PHM were all classics and produced amazing songs, but it's not about being angry or sad anymore. It's about realizing your surroundings, putting the pieces of your life together and figureing out what some of those pieces are and how they got there. The glue that keeps it all together is Trent's honesty and emotion to all of this. He is truly a genious.

  • dare I say this is his most beautiful/emotional/surreal/heartfelt song since Hurt. There are many different types of NIN songs, but I rank this one at the top with Hurt, Something I Can Never Have, A Warm Place, And All That Could Have Been, and The Great Below

  • When my girlfriend left me, this song was always playingin my Ipod and in my mind

NIN have songs for everymoment and every feeling you have! This band changed my life and I only have 18 years old! xd

I'm spanish, so my english sucks! xd

  • @5ninxavinin5 I'm 18 aswell, I've been fan of NIN since I was 14. I think, all of their albums are perfect. To be honest, I feel a bit crazy, cause last 2 years the only thing that plays on my Winamp, is NIN discography. CANT JUST CANT STOP LISTENING TO THEM! THIS BAND CHANGED MY LIFE!

  • NIN's been always great since Pretty Hate Machine to the Slip

  • I remember this show. It was awsome!

  • When i first heard this i became instantly addicted to it. One of the most beautiful song's i have ever heard.

  • this just plain incredible, no other words can describe this

  • Such a beautiful sense of dread to this song.

  • It is a extreme deep song for me.

    5 STARS!!

    Thanks Rob.

  • Serious Kudos to Rob Sheridan for these videos!! I've been going to NIN concerts since 1994, and in my opinion, they are without a doubt the finest live music experiences a person is likely to have. SOLID. I'm truly happy that Rob made these videos so that the rest of the world that didn't ever get a chance to see Trent touring with NIN,( whatever incarnation the band you prefer ) to feel a portion of the religious experience that were Nine Inch Nails concerts!!! Never stop making music Trent!!!

  • mmmmmmm....Exquisite

  • Went to this concert and it was great, I don't think there is a better band in concert anywhere

  • moved me to tears

  • Fuck, why can we only rate up to five stars? It should go up to ten. Then I would hack Youtube to fucking rate this as an eleven! Fucking amazing! I was at this show. This made what was otherwise a very boring month turn into the time of my life.

  • And why the hell can't you use the thumps-up-button more than once for each comment? If you hacked youtube could you please make it possible to thump it up like ten times? Then I would thump your comment up twenty ;)

  • Trent your the fucking man

  • This is one of the most touching songs, as hurt. I can't understand why Trent used to play hurt over and over instead of this song.

  • Because Hurt was written in 94 and this was written in 2008?

  • I know -.-

But During LITS e Wave Goodbye he could end the show with this song.

  • @Marcoago Yeah, would've made sense, particularly in the LIGHTS IN THE SKY tour. I mean, Now I'm Nothing got an airing in Wave Goodbye, and Mr Self Destruct in Self Destruct. So the title song of the tour would've slotted in well.

  • I agree, I think Trent should have replace Hurt with this in the NIN/JA and Wave Goodbye setlist, maybe keep Hurt in since it's such a popular song but not at the end. And then follow it with In This Twilight.

  • Words like "beautiful" and "moving" are how i'd describe this

  • the silence within this song is incredible. i havent been this moved since "something i could never have"

  • I wish I had been at this concert..

  • me too T_T

  • I don't get why some people say Trent's newer material is going downhill. This video is fucking incredible along with With Teeth, Year Zero, Ghosts I - IV and The Slip. All of these more recent albums kick more ass then 98% of the albums that have come out since 2005 that are in the main spotlight.

  • He's just evolving as a musician. I would be pissed if he just released five other versions of The Downward Spiral. His new stuff is just as good as the old, just different.

  • Agreed

  • Comment removed

  • @superfundeathhammer

    totally agree with you !!!!

maybe the music became more experimental

  • @superfundeathhammer

    people are intollerant fuckers

they think what they think and attack everyone who has something to say

  • @superfundeathhammer Maybe they want him to keep making the exact same music over & over. Blah.

  • @superfundeathhammer That may be true-except for With Teeth, that one blew. That doesn't make his new stuff good. It is simply the least smelling crap on the pile.

  • @superfundeathhammer I think Trent has grown as an artist and should be highly respected. Sometimes were actually only humans and are art and state of being reflects. Just be thankful he has done so much. Without NIN I doubt Linkin Park would be where they are at. To who think Linkin Park sucks well, name me another 21st century band that has brought that same type of aingst and energy for the kiddies and most of these kids don't know or respect what NIN has done for this type of self-loathing.

  • @reyjll you cant compare Linkin Park to NIN you just cant. Linkin Park is trendy band based on money. NIN is just pure emotion of Trent based on pain.

Just look at the scale of music NIN covers. From hard noisy laud headbang music to alternative instrumentals and something slow like this.

In 100 years nobodys gonna know LP.. but NIN is going to be classic it is now.

  • @relaxedgorn I am not going to argue on that because I too feel that Linkin Park can't hold a candle to NIN. Unfortunately it's hard for both bands to remain out of the light of trendiness. Lots of peeps know NIN but do they really know and respect... Probably not... and alot of LP fans probably listend to alot of crap that's more trendy than LP themselves.

  • @superfundeathhammer

everyone who says that is a retarded old-grown goth dude who just cant cope with being like 35 and not being "it" anymore with being depressed, pissed and rockin' to head like a hole using two dance moves the whole evening to express that. NIN's music really developed to a urban modern level of the 21th century - its different but pretty cool i think :D

  • @superfundeathhammer I agree. I love Trent's new stuff as much as the old stuff. With Teeth is one of my favorites!

  • @superfundeathhammer

A lot of people like to talk shit about Trent, but all I have to say is what the hell have these shit talkers ever done that's worth a damn? And the answer is: nothing at all. :D

  • the best video on youtube. very inspirational, makes you look at life in a whole new perspective

  • What a WONDERFUL song!

  • amazing

  • Finck looks cool... Is it Epiphone Dot?

  • It's a Gibson..

  • You know the reason JMJ shaved his 'fro is because when Ilan joined, he astutely figured out that everyone onstage bar Trent having weird hair would just make things a bit disconcerting :p

PS: This is seriously an amazing performance. Well done.

  • I love this kind of sadness, he makes it look so beautiful.

  • i learnt to spel but ah hgav upp tryed my handt at speeking

  • Ohhhhhhh. What will happen when he gets married? Who's going help us carry on? It'll probably the end of it all :( But then again there's the option of reality TV. The Reznors. Fun packed episodes filled with family bickerings, psychotic mother in laws and smearing of feces on bedroom walls.

  • of his new material, this song is one of his best

  • Such a perfect performance.. Thank you Trent for all the years of flawless, incredible music

  • Weird, I was there but I don't remember some guy wandering around with a camera during any part of the show.

  • maybe this isnt real this is just an illusion, or maybe you were so drunk or druged to realise the camera man

  • I never said I thought the video was fake......I said I didn't remember there being a camera. I don't drink and I don't do drugs. What do I do? I learn to spell. Try it. Also try and use context clues next time.

  • What the fuck does that have to do with this video dummy, Yup, its all fake.....dumbass

  • No one said it was fake. I like how you overreact. Do it again. Please?

  • You are a moron. The reason you didn't see the camera man genius is because you had the nosebleed seats. Next time just shut your mouth.

  • Slap yourself for being retarded!!

  • einfach nur hammer :)

  • I see that Rob was using a filter on his lens. Those lens flare really bothers me. The same is happening when I use filters is my Canon T1i. Anyway, awesome video and superb song!

  • I been watching this as often as others can stand to listen to it. I am a piercer in a shop with co workers who have to listen to whatever I put on. They have had an ass full of Trent. But do I care? Hell no.

  • Perfect!!

  • Pure_

  • i can't stop watching this. this song is like a dream. and the camera work is so steady and he moves at a perfect pace, in step with the song

  • ok THAT was perfect

  • i just saw the terminal 5 show and it was insane, the most raw NIN concert i have ever been to, im gonna miss them

  • my name is troy and I LIKE TO ARGUE ABOUT MUSIC OMG ROOOOOOOOOOOARRRRRRRRRR

  • Dude, we should hang sometime...

  • laughs, too bad your completely wrong, but thats cool.

  • I have, I've listened since 92, live and otherwise and I will say that I prefer NIN live to studio.

  • agreed. I love NIN albums but it's so much better live.

  • Sorry he doesn't sound like Celine Dion, I know you are disappointed. If you don't like it why watch the video and why comment. Are you really that bored?

  • Impressive vocabulary for a person who is clearly borderline retarded...

  • Yeah, its gotten deeper. Your point?

  • That scream @ 0:14 will haunt me for weeks

  • I really wish people would shut the fuck up during softer songs, scream and yell during loud ones but dont ruin the soft ones for the rest of us!!

  • good thing radiohead doesnt put up with the screaming bull shit

  • why cant fishes be small and normal?

they have to be all big and retarded

  • Saw this live at sonisphere for the first time, after seeing NIN many a time, and i can honestly say it was the most moving piece of live music I've ever witnessed. If it never happens again, I'll always be proud i saw this first hand. Wish anyone that even has the mildest appreciation of music could have been there.

  • so fucking good

  • this in my opinion is the greatest video on youtube

  • It's great that the fans show their appreciation and shout their love, but sometimes people need to STFU. Shout your head off when they play Head Like A Hole or whatever, but with songs like this and Hurt, SHHHHHH!

  • You should come to portugal :x Sometimes bands have to tell people to shut up! lol Maybe that's why their set here was more hard core, with very few calm moments. I wish we could have had both!! And even so the press said that for a festival there were some dead moments in the concert LOL....

  • yea he has this problem a lot with slow songs (people yelling) although i saw him do right where it belongs and if there was yelling you couldnt hear it from the crowd so it may show up more on recordings

  • Damn I was there for this........the way he played it was hypnotic......I didn't care if he played hurt, this was just as soft, meaningful, and beautiful.

  • this seem like the perfect song for there last few performances.

  • i know! i live in san antonio, i'm so fucking pissed. They could at least come to Austin. But no, it's only the "big" cities.. even though San Antonio is huge, but whatever. Trent will go back on tour sooner or later.

  • lol, no he won't. this is his last tour

  • he will.. not anytime soon. all artists get the itch again after a long break

  • well i think hes taking a break from music all together. he said this was his last tour but he'd make more music at a later point , but it was my understanding he'd be working on getting a 'year zero tv show'.

  • I so wished those fuckers would shut the fuck up, this is one of the only times he's going to play this song live.....and they ruin it........why even bother turning upto the show if you favor your own voice than to the live performance?

  • i agree it's like.. let Trent fucking sing

  • where can i get this song???

  • its on the slip

  • Thanks Man! I'm downloading it from their website. Can't wait!

  • I've never heard this song before.

  • unreal.

  • oh my, it's sooo beautiful

  • This is probably the one of the most beautiful songs in Reznor's discography. Maybe there really is a God. This is too divine not to believe... Why the hell are there so many people talking?

  • Beautiful song.

  • its really annoying to have that guy/girl next to you. the yelling stupid asshole. at bonnaroo i told at least 6 people to shut the fuck up during soft songs like gone still, la mer, and hurt.

  • Saw them in Manchester tonight and yeah, La Mer, Gone Still and Hurt were all basically ruined :(

  • What happened?

  • Just people talking, screaming, whistling, clapping and shouting "NINE INCH NAILS" through it. Which is to be expected but when you can't even hear the band anymore it's not good.

  • fucking great cam

  • AWESOME. Ilan on the keys!

  • jesus.......beautiful

  • he's pretty amazing. I did prefer Vrenna though.

  • Ben c' est NIN quoi, c' est trop beau.

    Merci NIN.

  • c'est simplement une des plus belle chanson ever !

  • very impressive. Is the person play keyboard the drummer?

  • yep

  • I wish the people would cheer at the louder songs, instead of the soft songs like this. It's truly a beautiful performance but somewhat ruined by the annoying cheering.

  • Definitely agree. You can't really feel the beauty of the song if you keep opening your mouth. It's fucking rude.

  • I was at this concert and filmed it, but it just sounds/looks WAY better with this vid. So very grateful for these HD onstage videos. I LOVE NIN/TRENT REZNOR.

  • WOW!

  • Those lucky bastards!

  • Whoa trent!

  • come toronto again

  • next time, come to SAN ANTONIO!

i couldn't make the show, but my brother and sister went and they said it was AMAZING! i wish i could've been there. . . i almost cried cause i couldn't go!

  • Comment removed

  • i can't believe they left austin thinking the show wasnt that good...they were the only reason i went ..and i know im not alone on this..the music is just beautiful...la mer was the best, but this song was amazing... almost cried.. i wonder if he will decide to come back some day...

  • *shivers*....
