Its the correct call per the rule book, and it is two games rather then one because the refs didn't notice it and he should have been kicked out; I don't necessarily agree with the outcome but it is the correct call it is clearly stated.

On broadcast I thought he gave him the finger or something (they blurred it) and thought it was a little harsh for the NHL to suspend him 2 games. I now realize that 2 games probably isn't enough - little kids don't need see that at the games or television, his gesture was in bad taste. If he had to get at Avery, he should have just punched him, he would have gotten a penalty (2,5,or10 minutes) but now he's out 2 games and $80K. I think the punch would have been more worth it.
