@astroboirap what a dickhead, if we judged everybody by their looks...I reckon you'd never make it anywhere, because only insecure people make jibes. Shallow cunt.
@MetalMachineManiac calm down metal machine music fan (probably the only one). im not judging him on his looks im just saying. c'mon even someone with no brains like yourself must see it, lou looks like a monkey in a leather jacket.
@astroboirap So you troll the vids I uploaded, lol what a immature cunt...and You called him a "dirty jew" so your not only a racist your a complete cunt...don't talk to me.
@MetalMachineManiac so you block me from commenting on your videos because you're afraid and will probably start crying soon as someone says a bad thing about your god lou reed. grow up.
@DerWishRock What's wrong with different? Lou Reed is one of the most influential American artists ever. It would have been every band's dream to record with Lou. Metallica is lucky to make an album with Lou, not the other way around.
@DerWishRock Metallica are overated shit, VU and Lou have more influence within the 30sec of one of their songs than Metallica's discography. And just becuase you and your narrow minded Metallica fans don't like anything out of yours or their box doesn't mean you come troll with your opinionated uninformed shit.
Thanks to that freaky Blue Mask and Lou's bizarre "dance" moves during the performance, this song and video will forever be stuck in my brain cells. I was only about 8 when I saw this on MTV (yes, MTV played stuff like this in the very early days) and yet almost 30 yrs later, I recall it like it was yesterday. Even back then, I wasn't sure to laugh or run away in fear. Gotta love Lou. What's with the lyrics? They sound like a gay man's lament....
wow, thats great!,i was one of the few that bought every Lou album thru the 70.s,80's and 90''s regardless of reviews or sales and this is such an underated track
Among the most beautiful and heartfelt songs ever written by Lou from an otherwise dull album. This clip from Rage Australian music show seems to be the official video.
I think this is a great song off of a great album. Lou was taking a step back and asking what he’d be like, as an artist, if he wasn’t the larger than life persona he had fashioned for himself.
listen up you worthless cock-sucker,do the world a favor and blow your brains out you fucking zilch, you don't get it and you never will, god,i just wanna puke all over your retarded face so badly
The album cover is a stroke of materpiece! Thats Sylvia's influenence. This was the Album to have in 82. Every leather clad fag and butch prick in the west wanted it. Lou was in a state of change. He was not our Junkie fag any more. He had cleaned up and got married to a spunk and we thought he'd mellow. But the nigger girls still sang strong and now he played guitar like he was a Velvet again. "I Love Women, I think they're Great...."
Thanks for the post. I too wanted to see this for ages. I disagree with previous posters: this (1982) was the best Lou Reed stuff since 1975 & Coney Island Baby, with the exception of Street Hassle (78) perhaps. R'n'R Heart, Take No Prisoners and The Bells had been experimental/interesting albums, but here Lou Reed comes back to 2 gtrs/bs/drms, he has Robert Quine on gtr and, for the first time, Fernando Saunders on bs, who still plays with Reed. This album's Side A (including Women) is awesome
God bless you for posting this. I saw it on Italian TV in March 1982, when Lou Reed gave an interview on a TV Rock music program promoting while The Blue Mask (he was doing no gigs in Italy. It was litterally a one-off). I looked for it on YT - sure that somebody would have posted it - for ages, without finding it, but obviously not in the last 4 months!!!
You've done a great job, and made my day, thank you so much!
Yeah, have to say that I agree with Precipitation on this one. For me, Reed is The Velvets with Nico, Self-Titled, Loaded and Berlin, with the last two being particularly brilliant. Gotta say...this is borderline autistic songwriting. How he came up with this tripe is beyond all reckoning; it's only possible rival is My Pal Foot Foot.
I'm a strict vagetarian myself, god bless women!
