  • Whoa that must have hurt.

    I"m making one right now.

The top is 6cm wide and it's 7.8cm tall. It's a mini leyden jar.

  • Very nice, I'm now making one that has the size of a 12 inch high and 10 inches wide bucket. That's going to be dangerous, I can tell you that.

  • que estupido

  • LoL :P

    Arma

  • i made one thats about as small as the palm of your hand =D

  • I learned about Leyden Jars from Mythbusters. Leyden jars rule!

  • i also learnt it from mythbusters, great show

  • yes, yes it is....i made a static canon that worked.......i sent them a refrence and i requested them the water tazer myth....but someone beat me there lol

  • hey dude that is a seriously nice Leyden jar i liked it very much. but hey if you want to see mine go look on my page ill show how to make it and if you still don't get it you can comment on my page and ill try to fix your problem.

  • Is it possible to discharge one of these safely and put the electrical charge to good use?

ps-no stupid answers please, I'm completely fed up of idiots taking every opportunity to oppose some opinion which in many cases has never been expressed. Just answer the question!

  • yes, but of course, the power wouldn't be as much as it took to charge the jar. (free energy does not exist. EVER)

  • The Leyden Jar can be fatal when not handled correctly, it's inventor amongst others have died from incorrect use-be warned. A big mayo jar can hold about the same amount of electricity as a small lightning bolt!

  • Do not confuse P.D. with amount of charge. A Leyden jar will allow storage of large amounts of charge, much like the modern capacitors in a defibrillator. Guess what can happen ;)

More charge means more current (rate of flow of charge) at the same P.D.

  • Original creator here: The instructions are really easy to make. Don't make it too big. you WILL get hurt.

  • charge it to a vdg then touch it... i dare you!

  • how do you make one????

  • lol he got shoked bad!!!!ooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wat now!

  • Your silent abruptness while turning off the camera makes this kinda disturbing. I am gonna make one now!

  • I concur.

I have a plastic 5 gallon bucket I'm getting ready right now.

  • I just want to make sure that my last statement is read as something only an absolute idiot would try. I would never do and I would never "trick someone" to do it. If you make it to big, you will be lucky to get hurt. If your not lucky...You..Are..Dead.
