  • This is because pilot error, they forget to open the flaps so the aircraft is over speed and over runway, the pulot already in jail

  • Ya garuda is totally safe now, they improve so much

  • whats the problem of this plane?engine?pilot?

  • Is it safe?

  • Muitos sortudos saíram vivos, muita sorte desse povo

  • there is a fuel source and they are not damaged. The pops you hear in the video are stalls. The engine is not getting enough air to run smoothly OR it is ingesting debris (FOD) due to the accident. The only way to stop that engine is to cut the fuel source or FOD it out. There is a video of another accident where the engine won't shut down. The fire crew had to foam the engine to flame it out. Hope this was helpful.

  • This comment is for those that don't understand why the engine is still running. A jet engine is not the same as a car engine. A car engine has individual pistons that produce combustion. A jet engine has a chamber that is continuous combustion. Once the fuel is turned on, it will run until the fuel source is stopped basically. These engines have generators that produce their own power as well as built in fuel pumps. So both the electric and engine pumps will continue to work as long as

  • Garuda Indonesia never learns. 22 people were killed by the actions of the pilot who could have been charged with manslaughter but was only found guilty of negligence with a sentence of 2 years jail time. Unbelievably the charge of was then overturned by the Indonesian High court. Hours after the accident the logo on the side of the plane was painted over and the tail removed to stop pictures from spreading around the world. DISGRACEFUL !!

  • its about human error, because the fleet was in 100% condition and i think Garuda would learn about this human error .

  • Yang penting untung, ya nga indo anjing?

  • machine fly....machine fall

    it's happen everywhere

  • Is it me or does Boeing seem to have many accidents? Can anyone give me some stats? Thanks.

  • @TheBlackOnWhiteCrime I wouldnt say that Boeing has alot of crashes. It is really impossible to say that about any aircraft. Boeing has far, far more aircraft flying than Airbus; and has been around since 1916, while Airbus was only founded in 1971. So, I dont know the exact numbers, but I would say that Boeing is safer than any other manufacturer on a flights/crashes ratio.

  • @CJpilot316 No they are not safer than others, biggest modern manufacturers like Airbus, Boeing and Embraer have pretty much same safety record.

True that many more Boeings have been made than Airbus aicraft, but today in number of aircrafts especially in many european airports Airbus is dominating, or at least equal with Boeing aicrafts.

  • @Pvjinflight CJ pilot fail to mention that the reason that there are so many Airbus planes, is because their countries supplement the cost so they can sell it cheaper while Boeing is on its own. Since the start, it was Airbus and the local countries plans, to put Boeing out of business or at least cut way into their profit. There are many E-countries involve since parts are made in many diff. E-countries. The France have always hated anything American. Wait till you ever visit there.

  • @CaptainArt777 Im pretty sure that US government has given Boeing some financial help too.

  • @Pvjinflight I don't understand how you can say that " i'm pretty sure " when it is clear to me and others in the know, that you haven't research this. For every tax break the US gave Boeing, the E countries gave Airbus 10,000. You really need to know your facts before you claim to be " pretty sure ". Love the 747-400 series which I believe to be better than anything Airbus has to offer. Happy Flying to you and your family.

  • @CaptainArt777 "For every tax break the US gave Boeing, the E countries gave Airbus 10,000."

Please! The US gov gave Boeing $750 million to design the now rejected option to the F35. That happens all the time and it certainly subsidises the whole of Boeing. Then, there's the US gov bribery of foreign governments and their officials show by US Senator John Glenn ex astronaut (wasn't $45 BILLION to the Saudis?). Then the US gets upset with business that does it themselves. It's duplicitous!!

  • @austdata Sir, I don't know where you got your information from, but the data is not correct. Also, you come across as a USA hater since you decided to bring up all the faults of the US and failed to mention one of the E countries and what the did to rape their tax payers in funding that idiot idea of the Concord which they then had to give away to BA because they could not sell it. They did it again with airbus, taking millions from tax payers money to help fund it to "get to Boeing". Wake Up.

  • 49 killed? Wiki says 22....

  • accidents can happen to anyone, anytime and anywhere... RIP.

  • I think the noise in the background is a bird repellant sound system. But it could also be the running engines.

  • @bogeyatyour6 that is a jet engine. I don't understand why they don't stop once a crash has happened. Kinda like how newer car engines shut off the fuel pump when there is a wreck. You'd think with all the technology out there they could get that going. I've heard of jet engines going until they completely disintegrate by not getting enough airflow as they would in the air.

  • Planes can fall, Life can go anytime, car can crash, hearts can arrest, but the best thing is to be happy and content what God gave you with,

  • Man, this guy was so scared and so afraid he stood there for 4 minutes filming everybody in terror...

  • I can't imagine what terror they were going through!

  • Stupid pilot. Give me a job as a pilot Garuda i keep ur aircraft safe

  • @chrisklein21 I think Garuda will not accept you as their pilot, they only recruit Pilot's with good attitude.

  • @kariesto what r u talking about, loser?

  • Am I to understand that the buzzing, humming type sound is the jet engines still running?

I wonder what you'd do, after surviving a crash relatively uninjured?

Help pull people from the wreckage, or film the aftermath?

    Where would your priorities lie?

    It's an interesting question.

  • why are you standing in a rice paddy? do you not know there c ould be snakez???//?

  • It's amazing that only 40 people died in this crash. As I watch that brave man video what was almost his coffin, I can't help but think about all these other countries that don't regulate the airlines like the U.S. does. You see so many more crashes in mid-east/asian countries, simply because they don't have enough money to be as thurough with inspections and maintenance like we do. RIP to those unfortunate people and families. Oh and to cuno858... get a life, you sick f***. Go utilize this ~I~,

  • @cdw626 actually the are only 20-24 people that died

  • what a dick if it happens to him hes gona cry for their mother

  • the 737 range started in the 60's actually

  • my professor died in this accident..

  • ALLAHU AKBAR!!!

  • its godd to see so many srvivors RIP those that lost their Lives. shame on you those have posted stupid comments.

    What is etiquette?

Do i like this Video? No its not cool havin a plane crash.

Do i Dislike this Vid? Loss of life is not to be Liked

  • Now, Garuda Indonesia is one of the best airline in the world. Some people just can't take this fact but this is true. It has beaten some 5 stars airline in the world and will be the new 5 stars airline scheduled in 2014.

  • allahu akbar

  • @afrikanbadboy Admiral Ackbar

  • lambat giler rescue datang..

  • a 737 crashes on 7/3/7-weird

  • All of these survivors are instant millioneres.

  • they need to improve their safety record

  • I first thought this was just a fake-crash video again, because it was a boeing 737 that crashed on 07/03/07 (7 march 2007), but i'm wrong, R.I.P. for the dead people...

  • @jerrythedutchmapler Not To Forget That It Slid Around 300-400 Meters Off The Edge, So, it's Basically A Total Irony (7/3/7-400 737-400)

  • my uncle was a stewerdess in this plane and he died!

    FORREAL!

  • It was infact a pilot flying at the time of the crash. But the 737 is still unsafe.

  • @averredude101 737 is very safe, it just have much more flight hours than any other jet, so it have more crashes too. When look statistic about accidents per million flights, B737 is as safe as other jets.

  • @Pvjinflight are u talking about the ng or the classics?

  • @averredude101 Im talking about B737-400

  • If mankind was ment to fly we would have wings. Even a pilot will tell you that flight is never routine.

  • @TheVaccumtube Many national carriers have had their share of dark days. You arrogant fuck, What power do you have over your own fate?!? What makes you think you will never find yourself in a doomed flight with non-muslim pilots. I'd love to see your face when that happens. Narrow-minded hateful racist like you deserve a good beating. In the head !!!

  • Stop wining ya pussies, Im sure you will get a refund.

  • Marwoto komar is the Pilot of that poor plane,..WTF marwoto..!! you're suck,..

  • Comment removed

  • That's a coincidence.. 737 crashing on 7/3/7.

  • @scaremenga superstition. Im not christian but that aircraft was cursed!

  • indonesian airliners aren't really good. i see.

  • The policeman at 1:45. His idea of helping in this emergency is to walk past, wave his arm, and blow a whistle. Perhaps he was given a medal.

  • @buzzaki He was trying to tell people to get back as it was felt the plane was about to explode.

  • look at this coward run

  • @19thSFGA go fuck yourself, if you had just survived a plane crash and got out of the plane, and the plane blew up, i bet you'd be running your ass off too.

  • that's horrible

but i guess flying is still the safest way to travel

most plane crashs occur due to human failure, so it can happen to any airline

still i'd never fly with any airline that's on EU the black list

i like to be sure that the plane i'm sitting in is checked up regularly^^

    i prefer CX :)

btw whats that noise in the background? is it something like a warning signal?

  • @MmeSusann the noise is the APU (auxilary power unit) still running.

  • this video sucks

  • i fly with garuda all the time

i was on a flight from bali to jakarta and the plane literally started to rock like a kids rocking horse, all the passenger were screaming

i think everyone thought they were going to die

    stupid weather in jakarta

    always sucks

  • @johnsy2008wce I'm guessing the-always-presence turbulance.

  • ahwhy there is no chat on you tube.. Btw anyone up for some cam chat^^

  • Engines are still running. Huge danger once matter enters the engine cowling and the fans start to fly apart.

  • This is exactly why I'd rather fly with Qantas or Singapore Airlines... Although I'm an Indonesian myself... Garuda = Good And Reliable Until Delay Announced.

  • agreed.. im indonesian prefer Qantas & Singapore Airlines...

  • Garuda is getting better now, and as good Indonesians we have to support it. :)

Btw, accidents could happen everywhere and everytime no matter what airlines you are flying with.

  • We can only wait and see... For now, I'd go with the phrase "Better safe than sorry"

  • LOL!! yea, but you should give it a try. :)

Besides, DEATH, accidents, or whatever you are scared of are in God's hand, arent they?

  • Nope, god doesn't exist

  • get back in there and shut the engines off...

  • accident can happen everywhere...everytime...but this accident caused by the the pilot's mistakes.he landed the plane when it still too fast and too high, flap is just 5 degrees (normally 30 degrees for B737),copilot have said "go oround",but he refuse to did it

  • depend on the weather.... what u mean whit indon? so can i call malingshit?

  • @hafizzj Garuda to Europe... Highly improbable, the company don't have any aircraft that's capable reaching Europe... Aside from aging 747-400 or maybe leased aircrafts.

  • @lightdp this year garuda will start there first services to europe after the ban was lifted they will be operating there new a330's

  • @Antipants1994 A330s of Garuda weren't exactly new though... But I haven't heard such news that GA resumes flight to Europe. Personally, I don't think that route is profitable.

  • This is just the other side of Indonesia..dont judge the book by its cover..no country will guarantee the best safety u need...Indonesia isnt perfect..but it is a peaceful country..think before u comment slifergold!!!

  • this proves how poor indonesia country are.... they don't even have the money to properly service the airplane & the result many crash that kill lots of tourist!! seriously!! tourist should stop coming to this piece of shit country..

  • stop judging others!!

u dont know anything bout indonesia...

do u think ur country guarantee 100 percent safety..NO!

accidents happen anytime...think before u comment!!

  • well yeah accident happen anytime in any airlines but other airlines accident does not happen as often as garuda airlines.. the garuda airlines is world known for its bad safety record. i know you are indonesian but you should just accept the fact that garuda is just a piece of shit.

  • yeah..i know that garuda had accidents in the past..but u must know that it has gradually changing now, garuda will provide u better safety..so..dont let the past prevent tourists to come to Indonesia..because Indonesia has many attractions, scenery, food that u will not regret.

  • hi slifergold, what about air france that crashed on the atlantic, what is your recommendation for using the airlines?

  • I'm Indonesian, and I'm sorry for this accident.

It's because too much corruption in the functionary of Garuda Indonesia.

They picked the money up and forget the maintenance.

That's why so many crashes of Garuda Indonesia.

But no more, it has been repaired and better now.

    It's safe already.

    Sorry for my english.

  • 3:57 - ...and the firetruck drivers are still deciding which way they're about to go :/

  • those engines creep me out

  • @brianintn : Depends, On Safety Procedure, if the cockpit hasn't been destroyed, Decompressing Cabin pressure and turning off engine is the top most procedure the pilot should do before evacuating the passenger. On this case, i suppose the cockpit has destroyed so pilot can't do such procedure. And if you said "belly landing" i guess it's not.

The plane still landed on their gear, but the gear soon break up when the plane reach grass area

  • omg my Dad is one of the Garuda pilot.. cant imagine if it's happening to him.

  • Jesus Christ, were those engines STILL RUNNING???

  • yes plane engines always continue to go after crashes unless they are destroyed on impact. this crash was a "belly landing"

  • You think thats funny, asshole? Would you be laughing if it happened to you?!

  • @AmericanAirlinesRule Some people are simply idiots and have no respect... if anything remotely similar happens to them then youll see how theyll soil their pants

  • @AmericanAirlinesRule I would laugh my tits off

  • @polla2256 Just as as a lot of non-american people were laughing (and still are) when we saw american airplanes

crash in to the WorldTrade Center. That was a day when we clearly could see how American Airlines Rules.

  • @AmericanAirlinesRule uhhh.... it did happen to him. read the description

  • lucky survival...!

  • 3.05 omg is that a pregnant woman?

  • What are the popping sounds which sound a bit like gun shots? Oxygen canisters from the overhead emergancy depressurization system exploding because of the heat perhaps?

  • yea possibly; if not those then perhaps the tires bursting from the heat of fire like in the valujet crash where the fire burst the tires in the cargo hold and you could hear it in the CVR

  • I saw this video on tv,it was in spanish.

  • That must be the engines i can hear

  • That whinning sound is the APU (auxilliary Power Unit) still running. It is located within the fuselage at the rear of the aircraft. It would pose no risk in terms of sucking passenger in to the engine as it is rather small and enclosed. That said, it is still an ignition source for any leakig fuel etc.

  • @anice1983 hell. why did u say that?!~

  • @abelviriyamaysumanas

Its the truth and they are not on the list anymore it flys again to europ.

For me no way that i ever fly with an airliner that was on the list never.

  • We learned from our mistake and make any necessary improvement..More new aircrafts of Garuda are coming..As of July 2009, EU lifted the Ban, and Garuda can fly to Europe again..

  • garuda has the worst reputation as an airline

  • Home come most of he survivors have no blood on them except that one guy early on.

  • oh my god the engines are still running

  • This is the highest views about garuda aircraft right?

the views is nearly 900 thousands.!

  • look for camera shadow at this video - 1:38 to 1:43 .....

its like DVC PRO 50 / 3CCD or sumething camera for journalist....

why so many pepol give thier cmments like shit...this Guy filming was a camera man for channel 7.

the plane is on fire that is giving off intense heat there is jet fuel on board so imagine the intensity. He may be in shock or injured himself.

...see yur WTC 11 SEpt... why so many FILMMAKERS but didn't help??

  • With that much heat coming your way, knowing that the plane could explode any second, how close would YOU get?

  • garuda should be bann!!!

  • This accident was caused by pilot error!! Stupid capt-pilot who pushed to land after miss calculated runway distance and altitude even after his FO had warned and suggested him to go around.

Nice job by the FA! They saved so many passanger's lives and they had lost one of they crew member that day after he comeback in to the fuselage to help remaining passanger left inside of fuselage, seconds after he came in the airplane was exploded. Salute for him, and other who didn't made it that day!!

  • Yesterday I took 4 planes to come back home from Indonesia. My first flight was with Airasia from Bali to Jakarta, I have to admit that when I bought the ticket I didnt know that all Indonesian airlines were banned by the EU. No wonder why after flown with them for 1h. I thought we were not going to make it, the plane was very old, and when it was landing the plane was shacking like it crazy. Then I took Singapore and KLM airlines, and we cannot even compare any Indonesian airlines.

  • 4!!! wow!!! must have been a looong flight! would you go again to Indonisia??

  • Yes I will definitely come back, my trip there was amazing. However, I won't fly with an Indonesian airline for sure never again. The government should regulate all airlines better with strict controls on the plane and the maintenance of the planes.

  • As Indonesian I'd feel very sorry n shamed by your experiece. If someday you comeback to Indonesia n need to take a local airline, i recommended Garuda Indonesia and Mandala Airline. After this crash, GA has re-evaluated their pilot, since this event occoured by pilot error and now GA is grade 1 in safety as well as Mandala Airline.

Please come again to Indonesia, Thanks!!

  • The company Airasia is not Indonesian, it's Malaysian. And part owned by Tony Fernandez and Richard Branson. They wouldn't let their names be behind an airline that didn't have good maintenance.

  • Agree with you

  • Siriwijaya & Air Asia is the best..

  • OMG... it doesn't get more real than this. My heart was in my throat at the explosion at 2:20

  • I live in Indonesia, and I've been riding Garuda airlines for most of my life. But after the string of airplane crashes, man did I get freaked out. Now, I can't seem to get on a Garuda run airplane (or any Indonesian run airliner for that matter) without thinking that I might crash. Now I'm hearing the military has the same problem with their Hercules aircraft fleet. Jeez.

  • What are all of saying ... We must admit that all the airplane trips are not SAFE.

  • I agree on some parts...dam! i want to travel around the world..but now im thinking that maybe i should just go on cruz ships!! but what if the ships go's down?? :/

i hear that the airplanes are atleast 50 years old or more..is that true anyone!?

  • so you have to thing you need to stay at home, but u still gonna died anyway if already your time to. Sorry to say!

That aiplane was Boeing 737-400 and the first 737-400 did her firts flight in November 1984. It is impossible if that airplane was 50 years old.

  • the boing 737-400 was designed in 2002 , however the 737 range started int he 80's ... its one othe safest aircraft around , it just happens that us humans are not he safest things around

  • You better double check your reference, dude! the 400 series was launched in 1985. The 400 series is in 737 classic family. Even the new generation 737 program was announced on november 17, 1993 by boeing and 1st NG was roll out on 1996.

Yes, i agree with you. This crash was caused by human fatal error.

    Thks!

  • the boeing 737-400 was designed in 1985 and first flew in 1988, however the boeing 737 range started in 1967.

  • haha buddy your info is correct. im just abit confused here because i didn't even search this video , let alone comment :S haha

  • @alex9734 the 400 was not designed in 2002

  • @alex9734 Your dates are off! The 737 began with in the mid 60's with the 100 and 200 versions. The Classic series which incoporates the 300, 400 and 500 series were then produced in the mid 80's. Now we have the 737NG which made its debut with the 600 and 700 series in 1997-8.

  • @alex9734 B737-400 first flight happened in 1988.

  • @alex9734 Do some research buddy, the 737 series was started in the 1960's, the 737-400 was started in the 80's. Do some fucking research.

  • @alex9734

If you are going to make a technical statement at least get your facts right. I was flying regularly on 737's in 1969 ! ...and by the way, it's manufactured by Boeing not 'boing'

  • @alex9734 the 737-400 series was designed in the first half of the 1980s and last one was delivered in 2000.

  • @alex9734 The 737 series was first designed in the mid 1960's, entering service later in that decade.

  • but some countries and airlines are safer than others.

  • all indonesian Airliners are banned in Europe that sucks for them

  • Again another Airline crash in Indonesia!! While I am very sorry to all those that lost lives, it is again another example of crashes in that country. It's no wonder they cannot fly in other continent's air space!

  • It's not about the airline itself's maintenance. Indonesia was banned because the country didn't have a proper department to check on the airlines. The department is the one responsible for checking airlines "do their homework". It's the only way we know if an airline is safe. Had nothing to do with race or religion... Zimbabwe is not a muslim nation is it?! And they are banned!

  • Instead of filming the people in the plane burning, trapped or suffocating, why didn't the camerman stop filming and help?

Some people just deserve to walk!!!!

  • There were probably hundreds already helping - you can reach a point where more people just get in the way during an emergency (trust me, I know). If the cameraman could serve a useful purpose by recording the events, then its a good job he did.

  • Garuda Air is a brutal airlines!! I flew with them once from Japan to Bali. Thank god I am still alive!!

  • What you talking about...i've flew like 2x with them. Can't see the different between singapore airlines or KLM.

get ur facts straight. And if ur speaking out of own experience. Pls enlight us why u find it so brutal.

  • You're a loser buddy!!! Don't even think this airline comes close to the service, safety, etc. as Singapore or KLM!! You've obviously not flown very often. Anyway, Garuda's crash record speaks for itself. So if you want to fly with them then go ahead.......just make sure you have your last will and testament done!

  • The engines are sill running...thats the noise
