0:25 really cracked me up when I was a kid. Sludge's eyes fly off of his head like it was a Tom and Jerry cartoon. You can tell that the animators were having some fun here.

snarl would have made quite a difference. hell, even adding wheelie woudl have made a difference, an extra body is an extra body. and they used team work quite well. they rushed him. devastator cant take them all out at once which is why slag had such an easy time knocking him down.

actually my statement is completely true. you saying "the latter through debris at swoop etc" doesnt make sense. the latter would be swoop and i am unclear if you mean through or threw. if your trying to say devastator threw debri at swoop that is incorrect. the threat of swoop coming in at devastator caused dev to gaurd which caused random debri to fall essentially taking both of them out.

devastator doesnt throw devri at swoop though, but he does damage through debri thats why i asked. the reason he moves backwards is to take a defensive position against swoop as he was virtually defensless. also remember that devastator had been battling all night long and was tired, the dinobots only suffered one blow except for sludge who was still completely unharmed. devastator is clearly exhasuted and taken out of battle.

@Jshaw71 If you look closely at the scene just before Galvatron's attack on Earth, there is Snarl for a brief second. It's one of the many animation glitches...
I honestly think it was that kick Devastator gave to Grimlock was the reason why Grimlock went from how he was in Season 1 and 2 to how he became in Season 3. In dinosaur mode, Grimlock's head/central processor would be where Devastator's foot landed. That kick could have screwed Grimlock up.

@Jshaw71 Dont be so sure. In the episodes, when the Autobots were losing, calling in the Dinobots normally drove the Decepticons off. In the movie it took only 4 out of the 5 Dinobots to take Devestator down. Not to mention, that the Dinobots didnt take any real damage from Devestator. Heck, they even tried to take on Unicron by themselves.

@edenfire Devestator got TKO in this by Slag's hit . He was out of the picture until the Deceps retreated. Slag's hit was hard enough to get him out of the way for the rest of the battle.
People... the Dinobots combining would be unfair. They were so powerful individuallly, imagine them as one robot. They had to even out the odds. Devesator vs the Dinobots(the 5 of them) was a pretty even match-up.....

It was a tie, at best. Devestator won this round any other way you slice it. The only bot to get a hit on him was Slag and even then, it was hardly crushing. Slag wandered off and Dev's could have easily stood back up and kicked his ass.
@edenfire It got Devestator out of the fight. He was KO out of the action by Slag. What would have been better wasOmega Supreme there too to fight him while the Dinobots deal with the other decepticons.
@edenfire There was a scene were the Autobots do a mass assault on Devestator and finally break him back into the Constructicons, with Red Alert getting killed while they fall back afterwards. It got cut from the movie, though.
@Hyrin This is true. And while I would have loved to have seen a decent Dinobots/Deastator fight, the thought of Magnus, Tracks, Sideswipe and Red Alert all firing their shoulder-mounted missiles at once would have been an epic sight.

I think they should have done something to even the score in this battle, like write a scritp where the Dinobots combined together to combat devastator. That would be cool.
Opinion. I love G1 as much as any oldschool fan, but it's chock-full of cheesy moments, bad plots and animation errors. I honestly believe Transformers Animated if the best Transformers product out there. Aside from the art style, which grows on you, there's no real negative to it. Great plot, lots of G1 love, great moments, epic fights, and fantactic scores and music.
Heck, I can even see how such a combiner would work. Sludge would form the feet and legs, Grimlock the body, Slag and Snarl the arms and hands, and swoop would look pretty sweet on the back, with his wings all spread out.

Grimlock would be more then a match for devastator alone, however the dinobots depite being omongst the most powerfull of the transfomers, werent the greatest fighters in terms of tactic, just brute force, devastator was lucky to stick his leg out and kick grimlock. However, the dinobots are invunerable in dino mode so dinos win!!

True. I just assumed that since they copied the Dino-creature, they are dumb. Becuse of the Dinosaur DNA. But my second guess is that as long as it depends on the spark or something that creates a Intelligence for the AI.

i know they put out the dmg, i am not saying they got pwnd, or anything like that, but like i said in the description, this was a fight even they couldn't win, i agree with anoither user who posted that this fight was a draw, and i agree with that... devs had the edge with his overwhelming str, but the dinos had numbers on their side, as well as their str, but dev, still had a slight edge...
Devastator kicked Grimlock, he punched Sludge and threw him, only SLAG was able to defeat him and Swoop tried to fly with him but Devastator crushed Swoop as well.
If Snarl WAS in this episode, I know Devastator would have triumphed over HIM as well but what would he have done to Snarl?
I remember the Constructicons used to be AUTOBOTS but they BECAME Decepticons; why couldn't have they STAYED as Autobots FOREVER?

The Dinobots got routed for several reasons...
They didn't have Snarl with them.
Grimlock got taken out before he could even land.
They failed to use teamwork properly
Anyhow, when Devastator lifted up Sludge, I was like Holy crap! Devastator's super powerful to lift up a giant like Sludge!

@Jshaw71 Dont be so sure. In the episodes, when the Autobots were losing, calling in the Dinobots normally drove the Decepticons off. In the movie it took only 4 out of the 5 Dinobots to take Devestator down. Not to mention, that the Dinobots didnt take any real damage from Devestator. Heck, they even tried to take on Unicron by themselves.

People... the Dinobots combining would be unfair. They were so powerful individuallly, imagine them as one robot. They had to even out the odds. Devesator vs the Dinobots(the 5 of them) was a pretty even match-up.....

It was a tie, at best. Devestator won this round any other way you slice it. The only bot to get a hit on him was Slag and even then, it was hardly crushing. Slag wandered off and Dev's could have easily stood back up and kicked his ass.

@edenfire There was a scene were the Autobots do a mass assault on Devestator and finally break him back into the Constructicons, with Red Alert getting killed while they fall back afterwards. It got cut from the movie, though.

Opinion. I love G1 as much as any oldschool fan, but it's chock-full of cheesy moments, bad plots and animation errors. I honestly believe Transformers Animated if the best Transformers product out there. Aside from the art style, which grows on you, there's no real negative to it. Great plot, lots of G1 love, great moments, epic fights, and fantactic scores and music.

Heck, I can even see how such a combiner would work. Sludge would form the feet and legs, Grimlock the body, Slag and Snarl the arms and hands, and swoop would look pretty sweet on the back, with his wings all spread out.

I love this fight. Optimus Prime wasn't fucking around this time. "Dinobots, destroy Devastator!" Not attack or even stop, but *destroy* Devastator.
Of course they didn't succeed, but man it really reflects the "Transformers can now die" aspect of the movie.

Grimlock would be more then a match for devastator alone, however the dinobots depite being omongst the most powerfull of the transfomers, werent the greatest fighters in terms of tactic, just brute force, devastator was lucky to stick his leg out and kick grimlock. However, the dinobots are invunerable in dino mode so dinos win!!

Devastator kicked Grimlock, he punched Sludge and threw him, only SLAG was able to defeat him and Swoop tried to fly with him but Devastator crushed Swoop as well.
If Snarl WAS in this episode, I know Devastator would have triumphed over HIM as well but what would he have done to Snarl?
I remember the Constructicons used to be AUTOBOTS but they BECAME Decepticons; why couldn't have they STAYED as Autobots FOREVER?
