Listening to this anthem brings tears to my eyes and it truly touches my soul. Iam similary touched by the prayer "Om Jai Jagdish". Iam a Muslim Pakistani and I believe Music has the power to break bridges and bring love,peace and acceptance into our hearts.

Fantastic song.. nothing sends vibs like "vande matharam" and "jana gana mana".I am proud of those who felt the Vibs and posted thier feelings. Jan Gan man was written by Guru Rabindra Nath Tagore in Bengali for the country in 1911 and the constitution has categorised this as a National Song and cannot be distorted in any form for commerical purposes.I dont know who gave Mr Rahman the right to label the national song as "Jan Gan Man By A R Rahman" .Thanks to God he didnt make a pop song out it.
Noone, not Mr. Rahman, nor anyone else needs permission to show their love for their country. I don't think Rahman was out to step copyright boundaries while composing this; he was probably just expressing his love for his des, our des. I also think Rahman is one of the final, few music directors that doesn't create pop songs, he creates soulful music that happens to become popular; likely due to his musical genius, vision and spirit are translated so well into his works.
I second the comment made by loafungusOM and encourage arnabiitr to try to refrain from assuming the authority to decide who can and cannot show their patriotism and also decide the manner in which it is appropriate for one to show their patriotism. A. R. Rahman has made India proud not only by his talent and accomplishments but also by the way the simple and humble manner in which he conducts himself. One who can't see this is to be pitied for their blindness.
National Songs are protected by Constituion of Indi for tampering with them,no individual is above the constitution of India on showing there patriotism and disobeying these laws ,I think this has been taught to you in the schools ,pls go back and check your civics lessons.If it was not like that somebody will come u someday and say "Vande Matram" was written by him and make a pop version of it.

Jan Gan man was written by Guru Rabindra Nath Tagore in Bengali for the country in 1911 and the constitution has categorised this as a National Song and cannot be distorted in any form for commerical purposes.I dont know who gave Mr Rahman the right to label the national song as "Jan Gan Man By A R Rahman" .Thanks to God he didnt make a pop song out it.

Noone, not Mr. Rahman, nor anyone else needs permission to show their love for their country. I don't think Rahman was out to step copyright boundaries while composing this; he was probably just expressing his love for his des, our des. I also think Rahman is one of the final, few music directors that doesn't create pop songs, he creates soulful music that happens to become popular; likely due to his musical genius, vision and spirit are translated so well into his works.

I second the comment made by loafungusOM and encourage arnabiitr to try to refrain from assuming the authority to decide who can and cannot show their patriotism and also decide the manner in which it is appropriate for one to show their patriotism. A. R. Rahman has made India proud not only by his talent and accomplishments but also by the way the simple and humble manner in which he conducts himself. One who can't see this is to be pitied for their blindness.

National Songs are protected by Constituion of Indi for tampering with them,no individual is above the constitution of India on showing there patriotism and disobeying these laws ,I think this has been taught to you in the schools ,pls go back and check your civics lessons.If it was not like that somebody will come u someday and say "Vande Matram" was written by him and make a pop version of it.

arnabiitr: For a person of your mentality, it would be useless to say that I was a topper in my civics classes in school and do not remember any mention of someone expressing their devotion to their country by creating a song"inspired" by the national anthem was a crime against humanity. For you, I guess there is nothing better to focus on in your existence than to target someone who is obviously doing an act of patriotism. Every other post on this page can see it but you.
