I'm French, I discovered Bruce five years ago, I'm 15 and I really think that he's the best singer I ever heard ! Please Bruce, come to France one day please :)
Danny you looked so young back then... Clarence too, such a shame and a loss that their both gone! That E-street band was the stuff legends are made off.
@tamurasakura Thank you for your beautiful words, that express also my feelings. I had a normal childhood, nothing of exceptional, but now that I live abroad, far from home, I'm realizing I look for places that can give me a taste of home, my old hometown. And it's true, as you say, "it's something that is forever lost, it exists only in your memory", but anyway it's beautiful having something to remember...
im a teenager so my childhood is still happening, but this always reminds me of my says as a young child spending time with my father , I dont know if I appreciated it as much when i was 5, but i know i do now 10 years later. Ottawa, Ontario is my home town.
Manchester, Connecticut, 1960s. Ride my bike to Little Hale's Five and Dime with 25 cents to buy candy, played in the brook down the street all day, ice skating all winter, summer showers, raking and burning leaves in the fall with my Dad.
• Homo sapiens sapiens - current type of man • Art (decoration of caves, bones and stones) • Evolution towards the Basque Type(the white man) begins
• Homo sapiens sapiens soon divides into the racial groups which now inhabit the earth (white, yellow, black). Each group becomes the origin of the races which we now distinguish. One of them, Cro-Magnon man, evolved indigenously into the Basque group.
• Cave of Urtiaga (Deba)- final magdalen level (end of the late Palaeolithic age) Cro-Magnon type cranium beginning to evolve into the Basque cranium. Azilian level (beginning of Mesolithic age) ;intermediary crania, between Cro-Magnon and Basque. The crania of the Eneolithic age are clearly Basque

@HelenWilsonMK good call, I left Glasgow 20 years ago, I used to listen to this song when I returned. Still have great affection for the place, particularly the east end, where I grew up. Always glad to leave again though.

@flgal88 THE E STREET BAND: The pianist is Roy Bittan, the bassist it Gary Talent, the guitar player is Nis Lofgren, the drummer is Max Weinburg, the organist is Danny Federici and of course the saxophone player is Clarence Clemons. I don't know if Bruce's wife was in this video but her name is Patti Scialfa.
Good lord. I remember my pop sitting me on his lap letting me "drive" the car as we were goin down the backroads in the fall. Stopping for burgers and shakes. For anythign else good or bad that ever happened in our lives, that was pure magic. That was good times. Thanks for that, pop. I miss you, old man.

@ohara2489 Clarence is from my Home town of Norfolk Virginia. I'm not sure what neighborhood or if I attended the same High School hw did,as I am about half his age. R.I.P. Clarence.
my home town was huyton in liverpool england a great place in the 70.s/80.s till that bitch thatcher fucked up england ( now invaded by eastern european scum/scroungers/disease carriers.) uk is now shite.
@ajdobmeister7...Liverpool was the best team in the 70's and 80's...well they are still the greatest and the only team for me...Damn I dont know if you are a red or blue !!!
@ajdobmeister7 The grandfather's of some of the people you call 'disease carriers' probably fought for us as Polish pilots in the Battle of Britain. The Poles are very pleasant, polite and hard-working people. You shouldnt be so disrespectful. I would also suggest that England is a better place in some ways now than in the 70's. I remember strikes, bombs in Ireland and declining prosperity - oh, and the Bay City Rollers!
@pogmathon100 As a factory worker in a factory swarming with Polish - I sincerely beg to differ. I also actually live in Liverpool. I'm not racist, but the sheer amounts of non English here is just ridiculous. And yes, Thatcher screwed us.
@ajdobmeister7 The problem with this is that the 'indigenous British' do not want these jobs or are unemployable. They do not want to work at school, sneer at any teachers who try to help them and then expect to be given well-paid jobs when they leave school. If you prevented farmers employing overseas labour to pick fruit then the crops would rot in the fields. The barbarians are not at the gate, they live inside the walls.
@Tralgit Yes, and I dont enjoy saying it. I love England but we sometimes dont help ourselves and in many ways have ceased to be an enterprising people. We are far to ready to blame everyone but ourselves. Maggie Thatcher left office over 20 years ago and yet the old mantra of 'it was Thatcher who screwed us' (substitute any other name or thing) is still trotted out. I wish Liverpool well. It is a once proud city - but it has a bad reputation it alone can shrug off.
@pogmathon100 I know, Maggie Thatcher broke the trade unions, rightly so. We used to buy BL cars until we couldn't afford the repair bills any more, we ( my parents ) bought a Japanese car. We spend a lot of time in the UK, my former wive was from the UK. It was sad to see the mentality go down hill: " you cant brake a good strike " was the motto at that time. It will need another W.S. Churchill to put things right again, although he was fired as soon as the danger was over!!
I heard this a few years ago right when the economy really went downhill and fast. I can remember sitting at the table during lunch and being brought to tears with the line "Foreman says these jobs are going, boys, and they ain't coming back" because I knew it to be 100% true both then and now.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
love the boss shame he is racist against his own whote race sort your politics out boss obama is racist against us white people george bush did much better job
@mufcrulesable wow, ur messed up dude, bush was and is a very evil man who killed 3000 ppl on 9/11 and started a war over his murders and lies, how can u say he did a better job than obama. ur very ignorant and propaganda fed. Try watching Zeitgeist and educating yourself before u make sensational claims like that to anyone, especially online.
This song is the truth especially for the South. Even so it didn`t take place until decades later the truth is the truth. Not only have we watched the textile mills shut down but a rubber company as well. I first heard this 2 years ago and it hit me like a shockwave because it hit so close to home and home is where the heart is. What do you do when the heart there no longer beats? That`s the question left for those of us that stayed in our home towns.
26 yrs later and the jobs are still going and not coming back, man it is devastating to hear this man sing with such emotion about what is destroying the GREAT U.S.A. right now!!!
@TonyDevlin100 true but this was referring more to the energy act of 1977 because we had a "shortage of oil" so it made all ppl with "gas gusslers" pay a specific tax so ppl stopped buying american cars... thus the steel industry declined causing many mills to shutdown and so on... now we just get retarded ppl in our capitol and they make wrong decisions at crucial times
True, but Bruce gerw up and spent all of his teen years and the first music years in my home town, Asbury Park. and I know what he is talking about too.
World trade? asbury was burned down by 1970. Air conditioning and airplanes. People went to Fla my man.

Are you ready to die?
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Have u lied? Have u stolen? Jesus said if you look at a woman with lust you have committed adultery with here in your heart. have u done that?
If God judge’s u by the Ten Commandments will u be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? Does this concern you?
Do u need a Savior from your sins?
Jesus came, lived a sinless life, died (for our sins) and rose again on the third day.

@ohara2489 Yeah. It must be real hard to hold a tambourine in one hand and bang it against the palm of the other hand.

my home town was huyton in liverpool england a great place in the 70.s/80.s till that bitch thatcher fucked up england ( now invaded by eastern european scum/scroungers/disease carriers.) uk is now shite.
ajdobmeister7 7 months ago
@ajdobmeister7...Liverpool was the best team in the 70's and 80's...well they are still the greatest and the only team for me...Damn I dont know if you are a red or blue !!!
metaldigger 7 months ago
@ajdobmeister7 The grandfather's of some of the people you call 'disease carriers' probably fought for us as Polish pilots in the Battle of Britain. The Poles are very pleasant, polite and hard-working people. You shouldnt be so disrespectful. I would also suggest that England is a better place in some ways now than in the 70's. I remember strikes, bombs in Ireland and declining prosperity - oh, and the Bay City Rollers!
pogmathon100 7 months ago
@pogmathon100 As a factory worker in a factory swarming with Polish - I sincerely beg to differ. I also actually live in Liverpool. I'm not racist, but the sheer amounts of non English here is just ridiculous. And yes, Thatcher screwed us.

@pogmathon100 they are scrounging scum stealing. stinking bastards fuck them off out of our country with all imigrants.
ajdobmeister7 5 months ago
@ajdobmeister7 The problem with this is that the 'indigenous British' do not want these jobs or are unemployable. They do not want to work at school, sneer at any teachers who try to help them and then expect to be given well-paid jobs when they leave school. If you prevented farmers employing overseas labour to pick fruit then the crops would rot in the fields. The barbarians are not at the gate, they live inside the walls.
pogmathon100 5 months ago
@pogmathon100 Amen to that, same all over the developed world. But it is changing, the welfare state is finished.!!
Tralgit 5 months ago
@Tralgit Yes, and I dont enjoy saying it. I love England but we sometimes dont help ourselves and in many ways have ceased to be an enterprising people. We are far to ready to blame everyone but ourselves. Maggie Thatcher left office over 20 years ago and yet the old mantra of 'it was Thatcher who screwed us' (substitute any other name or thing) is still trotted out. I wish Liverpool well. It is a once proud city - but it has a bad reputation it alone can shrug off.
pogmathon100 5 months ago
@pogmathon100 I know, Maggie Thatcher broke the trade unions, rightly so. We used to buy BL cars until we couldn't afford the repair bills any more, we ( my parents ) bought a Japanese car. We spend a lot of time in the UK, my former wive was from the UK. It was sad to see the mentality go down hill: " you cant brake a good strike " was the motto at that time. It will need another W.S. Churchill to put things right again, although he was fired as soon as the danger was over!!

I heard this a few years ago right when the economy really went downhill and fast. I can remember sitting at the table during lunch and being brought to tears with the line "Foreman says these jobs are going, boys, and they ain't coming back" because I knew it to be 100% true both then and now.

jerome2022 8 months ago
This song is the truth especially for the South. Even so it didn`t take place until decades later the truth is the truth. Not only have we watched the textile mills shut down but a rubber company as well. I first heard this 2 years ago and it hit me like a shockwave because it hit so close to home and home is where the heart is. What do you do when the heart there no longer beats? That`s the question left for those of us that stayed in our home towns.

26 yrs later and the jobs are still going and not coming back, man it is devastating to hear this man sing with such emotion about what is destroying the GREAT U.S.A. right now!!!
TonyDevlin100 9 months ago
@TonyDevlin100 true but this was referring more to the energy act of 1977 because we had a "shortage of oil" so it made all ppl with "gas gusslers" pay a specific tax so ppl stopped buying american cars... thus the steel industry declined causing many mills to shutdown and so on... now we just get retarded ppl in our capitol and they make wrong decisions at crucial times
joshuaTblanton43 8 months ago
True, but Bruce gerw up and spent all of his teen years and the first music years in my home town, Asbury Park. and I know what he is talking about too.
World trade? asbury was burned down by 1970. Air conditioning and airplanes. People went to Fla my man.
