I learned Arnis (thats how e call em in the Philippines) way back in College in the University of Sto. Thomas, under Master Pressas. It was required subj. in PE. but almost everything I know is from my friend who was a student of master Presas. this reminds me a little of those days. seeing this reminds me of home.
You have some nice stuff there. I'm an arnisador myself in the art of Inosanto/Lacoste Eskrima (about 1 year) and Pekiti Tirsia Kali (2 months). May I ask from what (root) FMA system do you draw from or have trained in? Looking forward to more vids. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the compliment! My original training in FMA was with Dong Meyong's Pangamot, a family system that branches off Doce Pares (if I'm remembering correctly).
My cousin is a lot more active right now than I am, you should check him out. His youtube profile is "FMAPangmot". We have a school in Upland, CA too if you were in the area and wanted to check us out.
I'll be posting more soon, I just need to get some free time and coordinate with some friends to get some stuff on video. Time seems to be the rarest commodity these days!
Hey, that guy AND that garage both look pretty familiar! good to see you here thank you for the friend invite (enthusiatically accepted). I hope to see more of what you do real soon. thanks for posting this cool stuff. I don't know much of anything about the art you do but it sure does look good.
Haha! I'm glad you accepted the invite. I'm currently putting everything together and I will be posting the start of the series very soon. Thanks for the compliment!
wow you are very skilled and when i saw you i knew i recognized you b eacause you are a member of the cutting squad and some of the movements you do with the knife i do as well but empty handed and i never seen it anywhere i just made it up myself
Thanks, but I'm definitely not as good as I could be at this point. There's alot of room for improvement here, haha.
If you have similar movements and you have no formal training in this art then you are doing very good for yourself. I encourage you to find a local school/teacher that can work with you, though, just to make sure you're being safe and to help you develop!
oh dont worry i have found a school that i intend to join but it is a kung fu school which i prefer to learn but i am not allowed to join at this moment or in due time
The most important thing about flowing or the carenza is to just relax and let the techniques flow out of you at their own pace. Just imagine an opponent is attacking you and let your mind and body react to the situation. I'll post a video on it soon!
I will, undoubtedly, be posting more videos. You will probably get sick of hearing from me by the time I get this series in order, haha!
Don't consider me a "master" though, I have never really been comfortable with titles like that. I'm just a guy that wants to share what I know so that it can benefit people with the same interests.
Thanks man! It really is cramped in the garage but I didn't want to drag the lights out to the backyard at 1am, heh. Once I get the map set up I'll see if I can devote some time while the sun is up to film. You down for helping out?
brother you have some smoothe movements. The quality of the video was fine 5+ stars. I have always been subscribed to your account just waiting for you to post more videos. Thank you for posting and keep up the great work
Thanks Rick! I hate to seem so apologetic in the video but I feel bad about not being able to devote any time to it. There just aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done!
no worries brother people may look and go that Rick has no life making 116 videos but it took me over 3 years to accumulate all these videos with my full time job on the go , house maintenance etc . So I totally understand about no time and I want to at least try to put out quality videos and not just pump them out . I also want my subscribers to not depend on just the next video but to actually watch my old stuff before I make new stuff. You are doing a great job.
Haha! I never thought that. It's good that you were able to post so many videos. People should appreciate that. I like that you get down to the finer details that most people glaze over. That's what I want to do once i get the road map sorted out. Business has picked up considerably since last year and it's pretty much just me and Sarah working on everything so our time freedom has gone to pot, heh. I'm going to force myself to make time since I've been itching to do this for awhile.

Looks good. It is pretty cramped there though. Maybe the back yard is better for full movements and such?
