I think Dexter doesn't realize how good friends Masuka and Batista are. They don't question the way Dexter talks or looks like when he's looking over the body. They consider him a good person, and his lustful eyes over cut-up body parts doesn't seem suspicious to them. Seems that that's about to change in season 5.

There was one scene in season one actually, where the ice truck killer left a guy alive, and every day he would cut off a piece of a limb at a time and leave it as a clue somewhere, the guy was eventually rescued by dexter and he had to wear prosthetic arm and leg.
