Yes it is costly living for Christ! We have to empty ourselves completely of self,the flesh with all its lusts: the lust of the eye,the lust of the flesh,the pride of life! It is truly costly to live a life of emptying ourselves of the love of the things of the world, and of a sinful nature; that spirit that is always lusting against the Spirit of God.It truly is costly to live a life of forgiving,when all our lives all we know is hatred,oppression and suffering.Yet we still have to love them!!!

I love this song SO SO MUCH.....it challenges me .....everyday what TRUE CHRISTIANITY IS.....it is to give all that we ..for all that he is......not that JUNK on TV that they call the gospel....when all they are serving is money!!!!.....to love him more than father..or mother ..to love him more than all that his world can afford....to love him even more than our flesh....giving all that we for all that he is.....that is to recognize truly ..the grace that saved us...

Being a true Christian transcends that, however. It all comes down to a relationship with the Lord Himself, not religious practices, made possible by the sacrifice of Christ.

By building a relationship with the Lord and loving Him as described in the chorus of the song, we must learn to trust (i.e. have faith) in Him throughout the course of our lives.

Originally it was on 1985 CD "Fire and Ice", however that maybe out of print. You might try to find the 1995 2 CD set "The Steve Camp Collection" which has Light Your Candle and 31 other Camp classics including this song, 'Consider the Cost'. :)

Hello Wanderingjew2008, I know it is difficult but if you just give it all to the Lord and know that the enemy is the one who wants you to believe that lie. No matter what we do when we aren't as close to God as we should be, we end up crawling back to Him in regret of what we had done. I will pray for you.
